I love this picture of Austin, hot and because of the ring sweet at the same time. Regardless of whether it is an old ring of Jake's or a new one, I do think it has a lot of meaning for him. And great song, I've never heard it before.
There's a definite increase in temperature where I'm sat.
The only thing better would be those two together at the same time holding each other. Am I too demanding?

I don't know why trilobyte but I'm under the impression that Austin is naturally less hairy than Jake. Probably because all the blond or blondy-like guys in my family have less hair than the darker ones.
Based on Austin's lack of heavy facial and arm hair, I think he is not a very hairy guy. So it is possible the look is natural, but I wouldn't be suprised if he doesn't have sparse chest hair and waxes it

I was reading Perez (yuck, shouldn't go there) and someone on there defending Jake's straightness was saying that he is no longer friends with Austin and that Austin was in Austin.
It amuses me that these people who don't like Austin are forced to follow him up around the internet just so they can prove he's not anywhere near Jake.

I could never understand why people who think Jake is straight are so determined to prove that he is no longer friends with Austin. If he's straight, then why would it be an issue?
Anyway, back to the ring. There's no doubt in my mind that the ring has something to do with Jake. I found two web articles that were interesting about rings worn on chains:

Well we know Austin doesn't have an aversion to wearing rings on his fingers which is usually why people put their own rings on a chain.
So if it is Austin's own ring (however he obtained it) then he is wearing it on a chain to somewhat hide it.
Or it is someone else's ring he has which he is wearing for a reason - tribute, show of love, show of gratitude and so on.
I do think Austin's chain he was wearing in the photoshoot contained the blue ring but possibly gave him the idea to hide a ring by wearing it around his neck.
I think it might be a fairly recent acquisition though. He wasn't wearing a chain in the DUI mugshot.
I also think the blue ring had become too noticeable and too linked to Jake/Toothy lore and that is why he stopped wearing it.
Is it just me or does Jake look just a little bit pregnant here?
Maybe there isn't a surrogate after all ;)

This ring mystery is driving me crazy. If there has been a switch in rings, it could be part of their keeping things on the down low. On the other hand, a new ring could mean a new level of commitment, especially since this looks more like a wedding band than the blue ring. Or we could be totally on the wrong track on this; I wish we would get some new Jausty photos or some real news from Ted.
I'm with Ag here. I also think the blue ring had become too noticeable as a Jake/Toothy token, which would confirm that these guys actually take heed of what's being said about them on the Net. After all they have plenty of time on their hands and if they're like men of their generation the Net is probably one of their main sources - if not their main source of info (Jake reads his news online religiously every day, use e-mail, etc.) I'm not saying they're glued to their computer on a 24/7 basis but I don't quite believe Jake when he says that he rarely reads what is written about him. ;)

I'm very lazy and I know this info has been posted previously but what role is Austin likely to get in "The Informers"? I think people talked about either the vampire or the rock star but I'm not sure.
BTW I ordered the book and I should get it in two or three-weeks' time. It would have been faster at Amazon but I wanted to support my local bookstore.
Frenchy, it hasn't been said what role Austin will be playing in the Informers. It will be interesting to see what he does play.

I read the book. Austin is too young for the rock star (who's late 30ish/early 40ish) and I hope he's not playing the kidnapper (because he turns out to be a murderer).
I think he will play one of the friends in the LA segment.

I am so happy and proud than NPH and Ian brought their partners to the Emmys. They should be very proud also. I am hoping that we will see a certain couple we love together on the red carpet soon. Maaybe at the Oscars.

I won't hold you responsible for distracting me from work while musing on whether Jake or Austin is hotter semi-naked, and how low jeans can be before it is exposure.
(My final decision is that Austin has the hotter bod by a teeny tiny margin just cos I prefer a more slender build, and at times Jake's arms have been a bit too big for my tastes.)
