Hmmmm.....

Amused? Comtemplative? Mischievous? Or thinking why didn't Gavin let me be in Wolverine? Here's Jake at Rendition's LA Press Conference.

A minute in the fashion file: The shirt always a great choice for those blue eyes. And the stripe on stripe? Confident fashion choice. Kudos to Jake's stylist for the all things official looks. All year long never missing a step. Curious to see what he will be wearing for this round of press in a week or so. Will the Cordovans be back?

More pictures at IHJ.

I hope I don't have to see Jake in the cordovans and with a beardy-beard! Heads will roll!

Isn't today Stephen's birthday? Happy birthday to Jake's dad!

Ok, a little update on Austin.

Pretrial was on Oct 2. Trial date is set for Nov. 6th.

There's a trial date for Austin??? So he pleaded not guilty? Good grief. Special K--do you have a link?

Special K said...

This is standard procedure. Don't get alarmed, much can happen between now and then.

I emailed Ted asking him about his "recently engaged fruit" comment thinking he might work it into some type of mailbag question and answer. I got the automated response back when I first asked the question. I didn't check that email account yesterday so you can imagine my surprise when I opened my email today and found an actual answer from him.

My question to Ted:

"Royal Snubbing? Hot little lovesick thing Eva Longoria,
who's been far more of a screamer about herlove for her man, Tony Parker, than some recently engaged fruit we know"

Are you talking about yourself here or did I miss a juicy piece of
gossip about Toothy Tile?

Ted's answer:

Oh, darling, talking about myself, as usual. Very sorry!

Best,

T

Does that mean he still can't travel, Special?

Sounding very OTT from here.

*worries*

Guys, this is a misdemeanor charge. Not a felony. At a pre-trial, a trial date has to be set. This is standard procedure. And yes, I do know what I'm talking about. I work for lawyers. I'm sure Austin's attorneys are working on a deal. As far as I know, there are no restrictions on travel. You just have to show up for court when you're supposed to.

More than 90 percent of all criminal cases never go to trial. The defendant pleads guilty, often after the prosecutor and defense attorney negotiate.

link for above italicized text Scroll down to where it says "Plea Bargaining."

Anonymous said...

Thanks wicked *. It's so different here. I'm always impressed by plea-bargaining when I see it on Law & Order, et cetera.

Wicked said...

Scylla, you are in the UK, right? Is there no plea bargaining? The bulk of what our criminal attorneys do is plea bargaining. The courts would be severely backed up if they didn't and no one would get due process.

Wicked said...

Forgot to respond to Austin fan- pretty much everybody pleads not guilty at pre-trial, even if they know they will be pleading guilty later, so they can work out a deal. Spesh is right, it is standard procedure.

Anonymous said...

^ Quite, wicked. That's what impresses me. :) Serious cases end up with barristers competing with each other to determine which is the better liar or actor.

There is arbitration and mediation, but no plea-bargaining as such. However, in a non-criminal case, you wouldn't really be looking at a trial at all; it would be handled more procedurally.

More importantly, I will swap the beardy-beard (lose) for the cordovans (keep) :)

I forgot to say "how impressive" to blue velvet! Sorry bv.

Special K said...

Blue --

Tom better get worried you got a response directly back to you from Ted. : )

Wicked said...

BV- I texted Tom and told him about your direct response from Ted. He said, "Wow," and I think he's jealous! He thought he was pretty cool when Ted posted two of his questions.

Vanna- tried to look at that msn link but it wouldn't open. Probably because I'm at work and this computer has no capacity for videos. It looks interesting.

Wicked, Take a look when you get a chance. Vanna

I thought of Tom also when I got the response from Ted. This is actually my second personal response from him. I emailed him when the Page Six BI that seemed to point to him was making the rounds and he answered that directly.

Special K said...

Looked at the Big Debate.

Too good!

Thanks Vanna!

Of course I vote for Ryan, why because Jake already has his man.

Special K said...

I know off topic. But this is something that is happening here in Boston.

Reservist was killed in Afghanistan in a "non-combat related" shooting. Her family is now wondering if she was targeted because she was gay.

Senators Kerry & Kennedy as well as her congressional representative have called for an investigation.

You bet I am jealous. All I get back is that same old even if you are a meanie auto response. Congrats I think it is cool he did that. Velvet I wonder why he felt he needed to respond to you personally on that question. Try emailing him again Velvet and ask him if he is still waiting for Baby Tile.

Can someone link the Big Debate? Thanks.

I read Spesh's story about the Boston soldier. The link didn't work for me, but I found it by Googling the Boston Globe. We should keep an eye on this story.

Rotten Tomatoes' take on Rendition

Those pictures...strike me dead, he looks criminally beautiful. I don't know what it is - between these shots and the pap photos/video (as intrusive as the latter were he was in the place of power in the end), I don't think I've ever seen Jake look so in control and overall quite contented in that way that only he can convey. All the elements in his universe seem secure, it's just a vibe I'm getting.
What that might bring forth in the future, who knows, but I do think something's on the horizon for tb's. Even if it's "just" a Jaustin photo. I'm not psychic, just catching a little wave he's creating. :) I know he's in full-on work mode and therefore at his best, but this feels personal. I just love how open and clear he is.

Really loving the Interpol track, too!

Anonymous said...

Wow, he looks great. bltb I hope your vibes are on track. I really need a jaustin photo.

ITA, BLTB! He looks great, and like things are going very well. I think the vibes you are getting are correct! :)

Finally was able to watch the MSN video about which man Reese should choose- Jake or Ryan? Is is just me, or was anyone else surprised by the two extremely queeny men who were the debaters? Personally, I found them offensive. I wonder if they are a regular feature of that segment.

BV well done on getting a response from Ted. I've never even tried! So he was talking about himself - sometimes I guess I over-think Teddisms.

Gonna be an interesting couple of weeks. Lots of press for Jake. (Lots of coverage of Jeese as well, I'm guessing.) Jake is gonna have his work cut out dodging the bullet of torture vs home security. I await controversy. I'm most looking forward to seeing him on The Daily Show.

I think the powers that be at HBO are a bit delusional, Wicked. The JFC/Milch fans are really enraged at this point, epecially in light of HBO's decision to cancel JFC/Deadwood and to renew "Tell Me You Love Me". I think we previously linked to the article below, but I wanted to post the whole thing because it shows how out of touch HBO is. Note the fact that JFC's least-watched episode had more viewers than the TMYLM premiere and that HBO actually thinks that JFC benefited from its "Sopranos" lead-in.

"HBO renewed sex-laden original series Tell Me You Love Me for a second season, the network confirmed.

The network declined to provide details on when it would begin shooting the new episodes or when they would premiere.

While the relationship drama debuted with just 910,000 total viewers early in September -- dismal compared with almost all of the pay cable network's originals in recent years -- it has maintained the interest of TV critics, at least, and built bigger audiences over multiple plays. The premiere episode, for example, drew a total of 3.1 million viewers over seven plays, HBO said.

To bolster awareness around the show, HBO later in September launched a multimedia marketing campaign featuring real-life couples talking about the show and their own drama. Segments have been running on the network after each episode, as well as online, on iTunes and on video-on-demand.

HBO is picking up Tell Me after it declined to do so with its last original series, John from Cincinnati. The latter's least-watched episode of the season actually drew more viewers than Tell Me's premiere, but the network saw little hope in the oddball surf-noir show ever really catching on with viewers.

Tell Me's premiere numbers are also so small compared with those of other HBO series, like John and Big Love, in part because it didn't have the benefit of a Sopranos lead-in as the others did."

Blue, that is interesting. It seems that they didn't want to give JFC the same chance they're willing to give other shows. Many folks have cancelled their subscriptions to HBO because of the cancellation of JFC.

^^Wow, that's interesting - I wonder if they'll bring it back?

OMG, you guys are killin' me with all of this music lately. Thanks Frenchy! Love Rock the Casbah. Looking forward to our Rendition get-together! We should go to a Moroccan place for dinner - Jewel of Newbury or Tangierino anyone? ;)

I'd respect HBO more if they'd just admit that their decision to cancel JFC and to keep TMYLM is based on productions costs instead of making up a bunch of illogical excuses. I watched TMYLM once and it must cost close to nothing to make - there are a handful of actors on the show and there are no elaborate sets or locations. You know JFC was eating up $$ with Milch, the cast and crew, stunt doubles, location shoots, etc. etc.

I'm almost tempted to cancel HBO myself, but Milch is working on some new material for them and I'm still holding out some hope that Austin may work with him again.

Thanks Wicked for the listing everything for Jake's appearances.

NETB -- have read good things about both restaurants. Cool!

Slow morning for me...up watching the Yankees lose. But a new post is up.

Rome was cancelled because it was too expensive--forget about the FACT and it was a FACT that viewership for the show surged its second and final season--and there was a lot of praise all around, HBO still pulled the plug because the show was expensive--and even though JFC is not as expensive as Rome, it still cost more to produce than Tell Me That You Love Me, in which the grand budget for that (it looks it) is $500.

Anonymous said...

I am seriously devastated about Rome ending... :( I've been watching it on Netflix.
