Wipe Down

Pics from IHJ. #7 is my favorite!

Poking around in IHJ and found these screen caps of the famous Wipe Down scene. Just thought I'd go ahead and post all of the caps together. I love the expressions on both their faces. They look like they're having so much fun being together! Hmmm, who doesn't that remind me of?

I am including the link to the new Jeese pics, for compare and contrast purposes. What do you see? And, more importantly, what don't you see?

Who are Twicked going to use for their photo ops?

What, we are a REAL couple! We don't need to use a pap agency. We will just happen to be photographed out and about. If it happens to be the same pap agency that takes all the pics, that's not our fault! They just like us!

What is the pink thing hanging out of Reese's purse? It looks like a pink rabbit's foot keychain. If it is, I WILL have to vomit! Please tell me it's not, I beg you!

What don't I see?

Touching, for one. No physical contact whatsoever, and very little eye contact at all. Jake walks ahead of her most of the time, keys in his hand as he walks from the place. Can you say more than ready to get the hell away?

Smiles. Sheesh, I thought Jake and Reese were consumate actors. The least they can do is appear to enjoy each other's company. Sort of ho hum, b'fast is over, a little show of humilty for the fans, then back to the cars and separate ways. A quick, easy and almost painless PR nessecity.

Sexual Tension. I wouldn't even say close friends anymore, just business associates. On the far end of the spectrum - The look on Austin's face as he watches his hand smooth down Jake's chest, you just know what he's thinking and it ain't about the sweater's material. Have a doubt? Just look at his caught in the act grin when he remembers folks are watching.

And the most distressing thing I don't see in the latest in flynet's deal with 360? Jake. Haven't seen HIM since before Rome. No mystery what that is.

(A blue phone? What happened to his Blackberry?)

Anonymous said...

No mystery WHY that is.

Sorry. Early morning typo.

Hi special and wicked,

Is there a reason that you disable comments on previous blogs entries when you make a new post? I keep arriving late to the party. :(

This is Toothy Tile and BF Tile in action. Could Austin look any more pleased with his ploy to touch Jake in public? And Jake with his feeble wave to stop couldn't be more pleased with the attention from the future bf.

I am skipping the new Jeese pics - for health reasons. I'd take your word for it :)

The wipe-down... omg... you know which part I considered the most telling sign? that 0.5 second jake touched austin's chest (to ask him to stop? lol)...

NETB, you must have followed the SF zoo tragedy involving the Siberian tiger. The American Zoo Association investigators have stated that taunting of zoo animals is not uncommon and the type of taunting the young men engaged in is not that much worse than most zoo animals are subjected to. Depressing...

A few years ago, I was at the Franklin zoo Gorilla exhibit. One of the gorillas was sitting right next to the plexiglass divider and the huge crowd of families were making stupid remarks and faces at him. The gorilla very deliberately reached down and pooped in his hand and started to smear it on the glass. As the crowd pulled back a bit in disgust, the gorilla again deliberately started to eat his own feces. The audience cleared completely! That was one smart primate, lol.

Yes. We don't monitor old posts and we don't want people to go back into them and post a bunch of crap without our knowledge. Also, most readers of the blog don't go in and look at old posts when there's a new one up. So if you comment there, people might miss it.

OT, but seeing Reese give this homeless person money made me think of it- do you all think you should give homeless people money? If so, why? If not, why not? The social service community is somewhat divided on this question.

I have to say that is a very well put together homeless person. I've seen the homeless wear wigs, but usually the wigs are pretty beat-down. I've never seen a homeless person carry a purse in my life. Maybe the DC homeless are a bit rougher than the LA homeless?

Reese does not appear to be wearing her ring in these pics.

What I also found most interesting is that Roland included this clip in the DVD extras. I think he wanted to let everyone see this little peek at love that happened on the set. I have no doubt that everyone on the set knew there was something special happening.

Reeke --- a saintly act on holy day? - a get out of church pass?

And what kind of goodbye for a while date was that? Jake looked like he was going through the to do list in his head. "Hmmm...ok Atticus - all set, mail- all set, stopped the paper, did i remember to pack underwear?"

Jake - still rocking the daddy/grandpa cardigans. The blue phone looks like a new cover for his IPhone.

He keeps his hands full or busy, walking ahead, no eye contact. I think he wants get this over with and on with his day. I'm sure there people he wants to spend time with before he has to go back to NM.

Yes, Tinhat, I've been dismayed by that. Tigers are terribly endangered, and the poor animal is the one who pays the price for irresponsibility on the part of the San Francisco Zoo, not to mention a 24-year old, a 19-year old, and a 17-year old who were drunk, and taunting her. what I don't get is that she's punished for behaving like the tiger she is. Yes, primates are very intelligent creatures - he knew how to keep 'em away! ;)

On a different note, I had to smile when I read one of the comments one of you wrote about LA having a "better class of destitute" than the rest of us may be used to seeing! Jake looks annoyed in most of the pics. ;)

Anonymous said...

I thought I saw the big ring on her right hand.

In picture #13 from this series, you can see both of Reese's hands. I don't see the ring.

Wicked said...

I agree the tiger should not have been taunted by assholes. That does not absolve the zoo of their responsibility for the wall of the enclosure being 4 feet shorter than it was supposed to be. The enclosures are there to keep both humans and animals safe. I am horrified that the SF zoo would do such a poor job of caring for its animals. That is, after all, its primary responsibility.

Anonymous said...

So true, Wicked, and they were terrible during the entire thing by not coming forward right away, taking responsibility - there wasn't even a vet or a professional around who might have been able to tranquilize her and get her back in her enclosure (I may be wrong about this). A zoo like that doesn't deserve to be open. I hope they do an audit or investigation on them.

Anonymous said...

A terrible fact: There are more tigers in various states of captivity, whether it's in a well-maintained zoo or in a cramped cage someone's backyard, or in a NY apartment, than there are in the wild. :( That tiger's DNA is important. And while the zoo is primarily responsible, that doesn't give those young men license to behave like idiots, and buying alcohol for minors.

Anonymous said...

Didn't we always wonder where Austin's left hand was during that wipe-down? lol. ;)

That truly is terrible! Of course tragedies will happen when we take animals out of their natural habitats.

To answer your questions Wicked:

What I see? "Remembrances of Good Things Past". ;)

What I Don't see? Tom Cruise stopping by and inviting them to join him and save the next damsel in distress. ;) ;)

I used to give money to the homeless but since some of them started selling their own magazine, L'Itinéraire, our local version of The Big Issue I'd rather buy it (and add a little extra during the Holidays) than just give out money "indiscriminately".

Talking about wild animals, I watched a documentary yesterday on Canadian naturalist Charlie Russel who studies bears and spent months living with them in Russia where he took care of orphaned cubs. He completely destroys the myth of the ferocious, vicious and unpredictable grizzly. Elephants are another group who are often mistreated and even tortured both for profit & amusement. Some cases are just heartbreaking.

Some comments from Just Jared

#61 firmwide @ 01/21/2008 at 10:25 am I work in LA at a mgt company and have heard that Reese is one of several stars who have people monitor the internet and refute negative information about her posted on blogs, chatrooms etc. These stars also have established quid pro quo with celebrity bloggers and tabloids for positive stories.

Reese is extremely concerned about maintaining her image and her perception of being well liked.

So if you post a non-flatterining comments expect “fans” to rush to her defense.

#71 firmwide @ 01/21/2008 at 11:15 am I’m not saying that all comments that Reese is classy, a perfect role model, the best mother, so cute!, sexy?, the greatest girlfriend and that Jake is soooo lucky are plants.

But *many* are.

The hardcore “Gyllenspooners” are also on every thread about her on every site too.

#77 firmwide @ 01/21/2008 at 11:52 am I never said I thought Reese and Jake were fauxmancing. I merely pointed out that her public persona is highly managed.

So defensive.

"Ah, Jake seems to follow Ted religiously."

This is a full-scale war. Ted fights with words, Reeke fights with images.

Anonymous said...

I think Ted has images or, at the very least, has seen images. They're just not good quality.

Anonymous said...

"Ah, Jake seems to follow Ted religiously."

I agree but the question is WHY--if Ted is so full of crap? Why not ignore him then?

Anonymous said...

Well, Reese's army has a full time job on their hands, trying to keep their mistress's reputation squeaky clean since the debaucle began. Not only is she trashed by many - uncalled for remarks about her chin aside - the number of comments when ever she appears is WAY down also.

Of course, knowing she's watching just puts a bur under my saddle to go out there and contribute, let her know that there is yet one more person who isn't buying the snake oil she's selling.

Anonymous said...

The idea that Reese pays people to monitor the comments on the web is I think true. The company which produced Rendition is the same that owns extratv.warnerbros.com

In May 2007 they tried to introduce or launch the "pair" Jeese to the internet community through the article "R and J caught together", you might remember it.

http://extratv.warnerbros.com/2007/05/reese_and_jake_caught_together.html

Comments that Reese is "mediocre, no match for Jake", "has no range as an actress" are rejected by another "poster" (Press person) who says that her roles are not all "screaming and demeaning the male character". Other poster writes "RW is a liar for keeping the appearance of a marriage long after it ended to obtain an oscar" and "in her movies... males are weak... she always appear in advantage... wouldn't be able to play a powerless peson like maggie g. or charlize theron did" is rebuked with "your issue with her playing strong female... what a silly thing to get hung up over".

Yeah, what a silly thing ; )
Perhaps they decided to postpone 6 months as no one would swallow the New Reese in May '07.

Wow interesting catch numbertwo.

Haven't been around for a while but just wanted to check in to comment on the recent great posts. I love today's post (I'll never tire of the wipe-down). I also really enjoyed "Butch and Sundance" and finding out more about Quentin Crisp.

As always, I avoid clicking on any photos of Reeke. I don't want my hits to be counted as evidence of their popularity in any way. If I want to look at at all I go directly to the site that is showing them and scroll down to take a quick look. I never comment because it just fuels more comments. I'm hoping that lack of interest will help Reeke fade away sooner rather than later.

Also, Congrats to Twicked! and thanks to Ted. :)

Just got back from a long weekend without internet access, and yes, I survived. I see we have something new (Austin hunting!) and something old and as predictable as the temperature in Green Bay in January (a Reeke performance following Ted's latest) and something borrowed and very interesting (the comments on JJ about Reese).

Austin hunting. I have mixed feelings about hunting. On the one hand I don't object to it if it is out in the wild, involves animals that are not endangered, and the hunters eat the meat. I am bothered if people just do it purely for sport and on a ranch where the odds are far more stacked against the animal than would ordinarily be the case. Since the writer mentioned Austin having a keen eye I'm assuming this was not one of those Cheney-like situations where birds were just being released and it was just more like target practice.

I can't deny it either Wicked when it comes to that handsome quarterback; I still can't believe Eli managed to play so well yesterday.

Regarding your question about the homeless, instead of giving money to people on the street I make donations to food banks and groups that help the homeless. Part of it is knowing that my money goes for necessities, not drugs, and part of it is a concern that making it easy for them to beg on the streets will just lead to an increase of people doing so, rather than seeking out help.

And Austin being seen around the 29th kind of confirms my own guess that he spent Christmas with Jake, NYE with his family.

Sorry for the long post, lots to catch up on.

The PR efforts in this whole Jeese/Reeke fiasco reminds me of last year when EMI invited some youngsters to their boardroom to ask for their listening habits, when it's done, they told the youngsters to help themselves with some free CDs on the table... none of the kids took any CDs there, cos they no longer listen to CDs. Go on to show how out of touch record companies are.

Trying to fool the public in this new age takes more brain cells... so far, the Jeese team is either too lazy, or not very bright.

you know these days, actors can act crazy, camp, even violent... but you can't act like a nutcase, a la Tom Cruise. Get out when you still can....

Jake really needs to fire his PR. Everything in this showmance is designed to make her look good. They couldn't have let him give the homeless woman a few dollars too? Nooo, because that would detract from Reese's generosity.

jake was too busy clearing the masses from the doorway for the queen, schlepping her brown paper bag and getting the car keys ready to chauffer her about town to give any money out. besides, she makes soooo much more than he does, she has an Oscar and don't you forget it! she's successful, an award winning actress, a perfect mom and he's......cheap. but useful. for now.

Anonymous said...

Broadwayfan, you sure like to judge without proof. As do a lot of you. So many of you dump on Jake without any real proof of anything. I wonder if you would like if anyone did that to you?

Winterbird, Jake has nothing to do with Tom Cruise. He is not crazy and cackling at Scientology. He is not home schooling his kids or suing about gay rumors.

Anonymous said...

"Think" --- maybe you oughta read broadway fans quote again:

"All saints are to be judged guilty unless proved otherwise."

Do you GET it now? maybe its time for you to think, Think, before you read things wrong and totally misinterprete a beautiful quote.

Anonymous said...

So, it's OK to dump on Jake using only what the tabloids and PR has given us. Got it.

Jake is a pussy whipped putz who now is known more for who he's fake dating than his acting ability.

Funny, I thought that's exactly what we'vee done here, since no one has ever claimed to know Jake, or Reese personally. (And I thank the Deities that I don't with her)

Had to laugh. Some gal on DC so upset re the engagement denial she's almost ready to implode. Imagine, hollywood mags printing untrue info. Who would have guessed. I've stopped reading all of them since Reeke happened.

Hopefully Austin put his foot down after the engagement story surfaced. I imagine there is a limit to what he will tolerate.

Anonymous said...

The biggest problem with FlyReeke is that it is so obviously staged. It doesn't even really come down anymore to whether or not Jake is bearding.

He could be the straightest man in the world and there is still something completely off in this relationship.

In fact, Jake would be better off if people do think he's bearding because it gives an excuse, a reason.

Anonymous said...

With Reeke its all about timing isn't it. Isn't today Oscar nominations day, well I'd seriously eat my hat if either Jake or Reese get nominated (with Reese that really would be a pr coup too far), so this little fillip of publicity is the last these two are going to get for the next few weeks isn't it. Also remember that Reese's film Penelope is having the cobwebs dusted off it and will be released soon (next week in the UK) so she's scrapping around for anything she can get.
