Gotta give some Texas love today.
Austin does what every good Texan fan/alum does when he hears "The Eyes of Texas" he hooks 'em.
"The Eyes of Texas" is the Alma Mater of the University of Texas at Austin and is sung to the tune of "I've Been Working on the Railroad".

Its is also the Alma Mater of University of Texas El Paso,(UTEP) which was called also Texas College of Mines and Metallurgy (TCM). During the 1960's it was also know as Texas Western. If that rings a bell it should. The movie Glory Road is the story of Texas Western's historic win over the University of Kentucky in the 1966 NCAA National Basketball Championship.
FYI: Glory Road is the road that runs between UTEP's two basketball arenas.

Today is the 40th anniversary of Dr. King's assassination. Hard to believe. Makes you think about what has changed and what hasn't. I think Dr. King would be thrilled that a black man has a legitimate shot at the presidency of the United States. He would be dismayed that racism continues to run rampant in this country, and the world, and that organizations like the KKK still exist. A good day to watch a movie like Glory Road.
Today is Heath's Birthday.

The type of people you surround yourself with says alot about the kind of person you are. Steve Dontaville was one of the nice guys. His reputation was that he was great at his job but even tempered and decent. He has been gone since Walk The Line wrapped and I think that is when Reese became a full blown meglomaniac.

boyfriend looked me up 3 years ago
in Dec. 2005 and we see each other
sometimes and talk on the phone
just about every week. He was in a
coma about 4 years ago and nearly
died. That's why I think he looked
me up. We stayed really good friends. I was 21 and he was 23
when we dated many years ago. So
sometimes friendships do last.
About children, I think as long
as they have love and two loving
parents they have it all. My own
father (who is dead) drank very
much and did not support me at all
financially. My mother and father
separated when I was 2 and I saw
him rarely at all. My mother often
worked 2 jobs and asked noone for
anything. My grandmother(Her mother) raised me. My father at times told me he hated me and wished that I had never been born
and sometimes that HE NEVER wanted
a child. He said that my mother was the one that wanted me and it
was up to her to support me. They
went back together when I was a
teenager and that eventually led
to their divorce. He did pay 2 years of support until I turned 18
years old. I will just say that
before he died, he and I mended the fences. He told me that he had
not been a very good father, that
he loved me very much, and that he
was embarrassed and ashamed of some of the things that he had done. My mother also said just a
few weeks before she passed away,
that it was her fault too-that she
told him to stay away if he could
not support me financially. So you
see why I am such an advocate of
child support.
I think Heath was a very special
person and actor. I hope that if
this other girl is his daughter,
they should have to set up some
kind of trust fund for her. I am
sure Matilda will never have to
worry for I am sure Michelle has
made very good money. I hope the
Ledger family can settle this in
private. It is such a shame when it gets in the press.
I was such a fan of M and Jersey Tom. When is M returning?
I personally think Jake is bi or
has been that way. I really seem
to think that he sees Austin on
the downlow. I also think that
something happened last May that
scared J&A not to have their photos taken together anymore.
I was thinking of getting another cat but decided not to.
Our neighbor's cat who had taken
up with my mother died about the
time my mother did in 2004 and I
have grieved myself to death over
both of them. I am gone for long
hours working part-time that it
would suffer so I decided not to
get another one.
I just think that if Jake seems
to be the person he is, he should
continue to have Austin in his life in some way. Do you think that Reese is the kind of person
who will want Jake with her all the time?

has congestive heart failure, liver trouble, so you see why I

The words to that alma mater are very fitting in light of the JFC dvd release: "The eyes of Texas are upon you" - made me think of John Monad and Bill Jacks "I got my eye on you".

I love Texas and the South, I haven't traveled there too much, but my SO has quite a bit in his day on business, and I love hearing his tales! :)

Forgot to say, I think so too, Wicked. We've made a lot of progress, but still more to go. Having either and African-American president or Female president is something to be very proud of, and how far we've come. If Mr. Obama didn't have my vote already, he certainly has cemented it now, what with considering Al Gore for either a VP or Cabinet postion. Environmental issues are very close to my heart.

Thinking of Heath today.
I've seen that picture over at IHJ, it was posted last year on the post your favorite picture of Jake thread and it was reposted on the JW forum. I think it was a fan pic from a blog and taken in Sept. of '06 when Jake was in TX, for thast football game and the music festival with Lance and Matt. You can also see Chris in the background, he is the guy with the khaki shorts and green tee.

THREAT OF LEGAL ACTION FROM GYLLENHAAL CAUSES POST’S REMOVAL
You may have noticed the disappearance of Thursday’s post revealing the not-at-all top secret locations of homes reportedly procured by the cast of the movie “Nailed.” And if you’re one of the many people who has emailed me or made a comment, I appreciate your concern. But you can stop now.
The reason the post was removed was that I received a stern letter this morning from Jake Gyllenhaal’s attorney threatening legal action if I did not remove all pictures of and references to the locations. That’s right, THE Jake Gyllenhaal wanted to sue me… I’m flattered.
I guess I never realized he was so sensitive about where he lived. Don’t they have maps to the stars homes readily available on every street corner in southern California?
Well, even though I believe that I did nothing wrong and had every right to publish that information, I quickly removed the post and apologized to he and his lawyer. I did that for three reasons:
I didn’t want to make Jake mad.
I wanted to invite his co-star Jessica Biel to my “Sorry, Jake” party at the Back Porch, 1616 Gervais St., date to be determined.
It scares the hell out of me to have a lawyer with an undergrad degree from Harvard and a law degree from Stanford coming after me.
Anyway, if you’re reading this Jake, I would like to offer my sincere apologies.
Like Jessica, you’re more than welcome to attend the “Sorry, Jake” party… just give me a call or stop by when you get to South Carolina. I’m sure you have my number by now.
And since you’re playing a Congressman in the movie, I would also like to offer you a coveted spot in our Sunday Guest Post Series. You can do it in character, or as yourself. It’s all good, brothah!

Wait a minute here...Jake was upset enough to call in the legal eagles about the publishing of his home address in SC in a local paper, but not about the publishing of address and pictures of Reeke's 'love nest' in national publications?
What's wrong with this picture?
The pics of Reese's place was in the House Beautiful (or whatever the magazine was) by the previous owners, not Reese. US Weekly then picked them up. And that is a gated community and much more protected than the house that Jake was supposed to stay in. There is a difference.
Dany posted her supposed last post on WFT and had some things to say about Special. For what it is worth, Special, I appreciate you and this blog.

Yeah but Jake has never had his home in magazines or online. That is her new place not his. Again, different.
What part of "lovenest" don't you understand, Different?
The location, Ojai, and the pics were published both in print and on line, sort of negating that whole gated community excuse. And since US Weekly is a known PR shill, that info did not hit the newstands without PR/Reese's permission.
And since when is a gated community stopped the paps anyway? Didn't they 'watch' Jake kissing Reese goodbye on her doorstep on several morning occasions? Don't they follow the lovebirds home 'cause they seem to know whenever Jake's over at Reese's house. Also, since Reese doesn't seem to be able to stay inside her gated community, preferring to walk, shop, do everything outside its protective walls, I don't see how a wall around the Ojai will make a hill of beans difference when it comes to Reeke in the news.
Aha! Suddenly the house in Ojai isn't the lovenest the Babblers were creaming over. Now the back pedaling starts, claiming that it's just Reese's, that the pics were leaked, that Jake has really no connection at all.
Why is that, I wonder? Why would it matter that Jake isn't associated with the house in Ojai?

Usps it may be their "lovenest" but it isn't Jake's own house. She is the owner. He clearly has his own place and even if he spends lots of time at her place he is not the one putting his place in magazines. He has a right to not want the specific address of the house he was to stay at during filming in the press.
"Classy" Reese did everything humanly possible to show off her property. lol
But, Different, if Jake and Reese are as close as the Babblers say they are, if they are practically living together now, picking out wedding invitations, joined at the hip as all the flynet photos show, how could he be so cavalier about letting the address of the house that he will most undoubtly share time with Reese appearing on the internet and in US Weekly? Why would he not have his lawyers send something out with privacy concerns for the house that was dubbed their 'lovenest'? Surely, if he is so in love with Reese as we are led to believe, why wouldn't he be irrate that their personal space had been essentially invaded by US and others? Especially since the children will also be visiting the house in Ojai. Why did Jake allow those pics to stand if he and Reese are to share that house?
Let me answer this one:
1. The Palmetto Scoop not only posted the address of where Jake will be staying while filming in SC, but also the specific timeframe.
2. I didn't see anything in that US article about Reese's Ojai house where it said she or they would be there during a particular timeframe. Maybe I missed it.
Gated communities are a joke. I live in one and all my friends live in them so I know - all you need is a old pickup truck with a couple of lawnmowers, some flats of perennial flowers and a few rakes hanging out the back, a couple of day laborer-looking people riding in the front and you're in like flinn. LOL
Why? I mean, what do you do when you get in under that disguise? I don't understand.

Well, since the shooting schedule is available also, just ask anyone who auditioned as an extra, or down at the city desk where permits are granted. I don't see how the posted time frame is a big deal.
And since flynet follows Reeke around like a bad hangover, and 'insiders' post on blogs about their every move, their visiting Ojai also becomes common knowledge.
Try another direction to spin this to the babblers advantage.
The "lovenest" is not in a gated community. The Brentwood house is in Brentwood Circle which is gated.
The most interesting part of this is that the information was on a pretty obscure blog but it was found and acted on right away.
I think that proves Jake/Reese people monitor every item from every blog.
This week's US has Jake making Ava laugh in airport security (of all places) and "not at all awkward" with the kids. Yeah new daddy!

Another thing I found interesting TR is how *some people* got all excited about finding the address and pics on the SC house, felt special cos they discovered the palmetto blog that had it, posted links about the house, discused what was in the house, how many rooms, bathrooms, the state of the kitchen, the decor, the yard, the pool, even joked (??) about doing a road trip during the Nailed filming, since they had the address of jake's rental house and what area it was in and what parks were nearby. But the same people after finding out about the lawyer's letter to Palmetto blog are now saying 'oh Jake needs his privacy, I can't believe the address and all was published about the house, omg there are a lot of nuts out there, I don't say I blame the lawyer or Jake or his people at all for making Palmetto take his post down, that information should have been private, Jake needs to be safe, who knows if he's gotten any threats lately, I can't believe the address was made public, it's just so terrible.'
Even in death, I'm still more interesting than little Jake and his dull as dirt cheerleader.
I guess this is the result of going "public" with the "relationship". Now both Jake and Reeses lives are an open book. You really can't have it both ways. The guy who put the address info on his blog probably honestly thought he wasn't giving any info away that wouldn't have become public knowledge anyway at some point. If I’m not mistaken wasn't someone here able to pull up Reeses new address within minutes??
I'm not saying that posting the house info was the right thing to do..im just saying that info is so avail these days with the internet that I'm really not surprised about this. JMO.

Not really. With Reeke now evryone knows Reese lives in Brentwood and the address in Ojai and all that stuff but Jake's home address has been kept quiet. Conveniently diverted from all the media attention you might say since the whole focus has been Jake getting coffee in Brentwood, Reese and Jake shopping in Brentwood, Reese running in Brentwood blahblahblah. Its been about a year since any pap pics of Jake shopping in West Hollywood or running or biking in Hollywood Hills have turned up. I doubt its a coincidence, I doubt its because the paps got bored of HW Hills, and despite what the Jeesers believe I doubt its because he's living with Reese.
