Guess this is the funeral for James Caan's character. Did they ever re-cast him? Jake reminds me of Alex P. Keaton in this pic. Also, all those kids at my high school who were members of the Young Republicans.

He looks so young with this hairstyle. Not my favorite look for him, but it is appropriate for the character. And it's a much better look than that awful beard (both the literal and figurative one) and haircut from Brothers.
Yesterday's Defamer had a link re the possible restuarant and the briefest mention of Jake(dreamy eyed) but also used the term naggy girlfriend. Got a laugh out of that one. It is odd that news of this possible venture leaked. People negotiating usually try to keep deals quiet to have a bargaining advantage.
Special, i love the idea of Jake doing Colbert report for "Nailed". I bet he has fun playing a young republican.

Glad to see that those who have brought his words and stories to life celebrated and honored him.

Thanks to whoever linked the Larry McMurtry story. I had tears in my eyes reading it too, particularly the Larkin extract and just the idea that Larry McMurtry would be moved by Larkin. It's wonderful. I knew I loved him as soon as I saw him in Oscars 2006 :D

I think the TR and Marc thing is a symbolic wedding, not the real deal. One of the most loved slash stories was "Del Mar Painting" and the age difference between the Jack and Ennis characters was about 16 years. Maybe 14, but real close anyway, so when I first read about TR and Marc, that story immediately came to mind. I literally cried when the author stopped writing, then closed up her journal. She later resumed writing but opened it only to select people. Too bad cause she was really talented.

I agree Destiny. This scenario seems pretty drastic for a simple case of too much PDA. Im sure there were many other compassionate not to mention professional options the principal could have used to deal with that situation.
