Some r dazed and confused

Thinking the summer is over? Think again. Summer's not over until the Goose goes South.

Come on down and check out the Salute to Goose Water Spectacular.

You thought Cirque'de Soleil's O show at the Bellagio in Vegas was amazing, nothing can compare to Double GG on skis.

Check out the tricks, the thrills, the spills, the costumes all about the story of a Goose and his journey from gosling to gander. See what happens when it all hits the wake.

So bring the kids, bring the hubs, bring grandma. It's fun for the whole family.

Free candy necklaces to the first 100 when the gates open.

So do I get a candy necklace since I'm the first one through the gate? :-D

Thanks dead tired for the report in Dragoncon in the previous thread. Interesting that there hasn't been LGBT panels, etc. at earlier ones, since I think of sci-fi and fantasy as being more receptive to that.

And thanks john is hot for the video link. They both look awfully good in that clip.

Don't Ask Reese Witherspoon About Jake Gyllenhaal

Reese Witherspoon was in Brazil recently to promote her Avon campaign, "Talk with no Fear - Say no to Domestic Violence." She had just a few demands for the big event.

1. A helicopter.

2. Don't ask any questions about her relationship with Jake Gyllenhaal during interviews.

...

Do you think celebrities are justified in demanding that the press not ask them personal questions?

Someone on WFT2 posted this link. It's a fascinating article, and imo sounds a lot like Jake.

In the Closet

It is the National Enquirer for
this week-September 1st-that Jake
cried on the Morocco set when
Reese called him and said that she
was not bringing Ava and Deacon
with her for her visit because
she thought the heat would be hard
on the kids. She is going to bring
her kids when she and Jake meet
up again in London in late Sept.
It also says that she and Jake
are talking about getting married.
I just thought that I would tell
you what the article said. You
know you can believe EVERY WORD
they say!!
It really seems like a publicity
show all the time when Reese and
Jake are out in public! It does
get tiresome all the time!
I just wanted to share the small article with you.
^^I meant to say it was IN the
Enquirer!

For sure reese will be in London. Not sure about the kids though they will be in school.

I am waiting to see if Kevin Spacey responds at all after seeing those embarrassing pictures. He is a sad old closeted gay man. Most likely he will say nothing. There is always rehab or the church of scienctology though

Anonymous said...

The Kevin Spacey thing seems so much sadder because he doesn't have a Significant Other, just a string of young "conquests".

You're looking for love in the wrong places, Kevin. (I'd say the same about a 50-year old str8 guy chasing very young women as well. It's not going to make anybody happy.)

Anonymous said...

Oh, and Kevin will just say he was horsing around. He's not coming out of the closet.

Tom and Max, did you read the article I linked to? It talks about all these issues, which is why I posted it.

Interesting stuff from the Enquirer, Kacie. Let's see if that late Sept. visit materializes.

Check out this great fan vid of John Barrowman and his husband, Scott Gill. They are too cute.

Anonymous said...

Barrowman and his husband are darling. Both so handsome, a really good match. Loved the kiss too.

Reese has a movie opening in Nov so look for all kinds of ick over the coming weeks. There would be no interest in her at all without Jake around. Put on your hipwaders, the bullshit will be deep.

I am always amazed at how comfortable Austin looks on the water. He makes it look so effortless.

Anonymous said...

I had to watch that video a 2nd time. I did not realize that was Barrowman singing the first time through. Nice voice. Now there is a couple in love. Glowing faces, lots of eye contact and touching. Reminds me of lakers1.

"There would be no interest in her at all without Jake around."

What are you talking about?
Reese has a feel-good movie coming out this winter - and it is already getting some buzz - Jake can be happy to been seen with her - otherwise nobody would be interested in HIM. Or have I missed the great buzz "Brothers" is creating? Does this film even come out in December??

Anonymous said...

Don't be silly Buzz, tabloid readers are her romcom public and her Avon customers.

No tabloid would be interested in Reese without the fauxmance.

Anonymous said...

Have that video in my favorites, but just HAD to watch it again. The small tender touches, looks and smiles between them says it all, and what it says is love. A love that neither is ashamed of showing or sharing with the world.

Exceedingly proud to call myself a John Barrowman fan.

Anonymous said...

I keep watching that video again and again. The warm embrace when Barrowman comes home is so touching.

R hasn't had a really successful movie since Walk the Line, what in 2005 or 06. That's ancient history in HW. We'll see how the Xmas movie does, but it holds no interest whatsover for me, and not because of my feelings for Jake/Austin. It just sounds boring.

If I was Jake's pr I wouldn't really be pushing this particular angle. Being overly fond of other people's children can come over as being rather creepy.

The only reason Reese is interesting to the tabloids is because her breakup with Ryan was the result of his scandalous affair with another woman. Without the scandal Reese would not be interesting to the tabloids or their readers at all. Her supposed hookup with Jake adds the element of revenge and one-upmanship to the Reese-Ryan dynamic. Jake no longer garners any interest at all unless he’s hooked to Reese in some way. I guess he thinks that PoP will make him the center of attention once again. I’m not convinced of it.

Reese and Jake will never answer questions about their relationship because it does not exist. They don’t want to look like liars when the truth comes out. Reese, Jake and their advisors are out of touch with what the public thinks or wants. It’s going to come back to bite them in the end.

The Tinhats/Prancing Ponies
The Tinhats or Prancing Ponies (after the Inn of the Prancing Pony) were a group of The Lord of the Rings fans obsessed with the idea that the film trilogy's various male stars were sexually involved with one another. The duo subject to the most rumors was Elijah Wood and Dominic Monaghan. The Lord of the Rings related posts became so abundant that the DataLounge Webmaster segregated them to a Prancing Pony subforum. The tinhat phenomena also spread elsewhere on the Internet. Several communities were created on LiveJournal, and the flamewars grew so prolific that even meta-community Fandom Wank created a spin-off community to handle them.[4] With time the tinhat threads on DataLounge increasingly dissolved into endless flamewars and, ultimately, the subforum was deleted and discussion of The Lord of the Rings severely curbed

Palin Says Daughter, 17, Is Pregnant
ST. PAUL, Sept 1 (Reuters) - The 17-year-old daughter of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is pregnant, Palin said on Monday in an announcement intended to knock down rumors by liberal bloggers that Palin faked her own pregnancy to cover up for her child.

Bristol Palin, one of Alaska Gov. Palin's five children with her husband, Todd, is about five months pregnant and is going to keep the child and marry the father, the Palins said in a statement released by the campaign of Republican presidential candidate John McCain.

Bristol Palin made the decision on her own to keep the baby, McCain aides said.

"We have been blessed with five wonderful children who we love with all our heart and mean everything to us," the Palins' statement said.

"Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned. As Bristol faces the responsibilities of adulthood, she knows she has our unconditional love and support," the Palins said.

Sometimes I think Jakes PR is working against him. Unhappy or jealous employees can sabotage someone. Can't imagine that gamers will be enticed by the thought of the Prince of Persia crying for the reasons given. It's largely a British cast too. Stiff upper lip types. I don't believe the story in the first place, but such an image would not go over well with them either and just adds to the Jake is a wimp image. I agree the whole idea is creepy.

Especially after the pic of Ava on his shoulders in Paris.

This really shows the power of the internet. Palin did not have the luxury of ignoring these rumors.

babblers remind me of when my cat used to swallow a rubber band. never could figure out why my cat swallowed rubber bands. he would make these strange strangled noises until I figured out what was wrong and pulled it out - not a pleasant esperience.

just saying.

anyone seen the new Edible Islands videos? Chris half nekkid! what a sweetie!

I have to say Kevin Spacey makes me sick. I sure hope Jake doesn't turn into this type of man. It sure looks like he is headed that way. How good is NPH looking right now Jake?

I don't know how John McCain's people couldn't possibly have known. And I don't know how Sarah Palin could've possibly thought the fact could be kept hidden. Not in this day and age. If the press can dig up mistakes/misjudgements on small people like American Idol contestants, how on earth could a major political candidate escape any kind of digging or scrutiny?

And not only do celebrities and political figures need to worry about the press, they now deal with childhood friends, current "circle of friends", vindictive or jealous relatives, and/or former business managers/agents, etc. leaking private pictures, stories, and other personal information to tabloids, Live Journals, personal blogs, etc. And this is regardless of the fact if it is even true. The lure of money, the publishing of a tell-all book, & that 15 minutes of fame is the motivation that seems to be the driving force. Someone becomes famous? On top? They better watch out because there is going to be somebody wanting to bring them down. It's a sad fact, but all we've had to look at this year is the stuff leaked to the Hollywood blogs on American Idol contestants, the pictures leaked of Vanessa Hudgens, Mel Gibson's intoxicated pictures taken on someone's cell phone, Christian Bale's mom & sister airing diry laundry right on the heels of the TDK success, on and on and on.

Sounds to me like the kind of stuff that causes nightly sloshing of Pepto Bismal & Alka-Seltzer for these people if they have something big to hide.

Is that the old Go-Go's album Special changed to Goose?

Very nice job done on the old Go-Go's album cover, Special! Ahhh, the 80's. Flock of Seagulls, 867-5309, and Def Leppard. That was a great musical period, 80's hair & all, lol!!

There was something else I had wanted to add to my comment, just an observation in general. It is astounding me that we are still having the amount of teen pregnancies that we are. Kids are learning about sex these days when they're in the 3rd & 4th grade, not from their parents, of course, but from their fellow classmates. We have the birth control pill and we have condoms, two basic & easy to use devices. I'm not getting it. Someone please explain it to me. Although I have a co-worker who missed taking her pill regularly for one month and that was enough....

It seems that after those sweaty Jake Gyllenhaal photos made their way to the press, security has tightened up. Now all the media can get hold of are snapshots of large buildings which don’t move around a lot, and in fairness that stuff really shouldn’t be that tough to catch off guard.

Over on Movie Chronicles, found via Coming Soon, they have a great example of this showing the Moroccan set and it looks pretty Arabian alright, or at least the version shown in storybooks and Disney movies. It’s definitely a good location for a blockbuster, but that doesn’t make the photo more interesting than the sweaty Jake Gyllenhaal one! That image is said to have single handedly shaken the belief of the nay sayers who believed that Naveen Andrews (who plays Sayid in “Lost” and both looks and sounds the part) should have gotten the role. ,

Interesting comments - but on the other hand people here believe that J & A are successfully hiding a baby..... in "this days and age"????

I was talking about the WHOLE comment - just did not want to repeat it all....

J & A won´t be able to hide this baby - but since I don´t think it even exists that should not be a problem.....

Anonymous said...

Hiding the baby for some time could be easy, Hollywood smoke and mirrors are still working. Can't imagine anyone would want to hide the baby forever, so maybe that's not the problem either.

prairiegirl said...

I know, Hiding, you make an excellent point. I ask myself the same question, not just in the case you talk about, but about any secret in Hollywood. I don't know. Is there money slipped under the table to keep someone quiet? In some cases, is there just loyalty counted on? With loyalty, I'm certain there is when it concerns close friends. Raymond Burr kept his sexuality successfully hidden most of his life, didn't he? Although, he existed in Hollywood before the years of the internet and, although I'm sure some movie magazines existed back then, they weren't what they are now. And Joe Q Public doesn't know everything about these celebrities. You know that. Not everything is going to be revealed. That's why I'm saying that I wonder if there isn't money involved in some cases? Isn't that practice as old as dirt?

I don't know.

prairiegirl said...

One last thought before I leave for work. In the case of Jake & Austin, if a baby were to be revealed, that would mean that their relationship would have to be revealed. And that would mean outing, which is something that is very personal and most people aren't going to do to their own or the press isn't going to do. Although, blogs insinuate and speak tongue in cheek, they don't usually just up & say point blankly that a celebrity is gay.

And I don't say that I know the truth, either. Just show me the truth & I'll, albeit sheepishly lol, shut up.

Everyone have a good day.

Why the difference in the baby coverage? The reporters and magazines that cover HW are invested in protecting the system, which includes hiding the truth. The reporters and papers that cover politics are invested in finding out the truth and/or scandal-mongering. Not to mention a lot of this all started on the internet with politcal bloggers, who are also interested in ferreting out the truth, not pushing what the politician's/pr wants them to push.
