Hat trick

A hat trick in ice hockey is when a player scores three goals in one game. This week Austin's hat trick in entertainment, with a network television show, a movie premiere, and television movie premier. To achieve a hat trick in hockey is an quite a distinction, but to achieve a hat trick like the one Austin's pulling off this week is even more of a feat.

There are thousands of actors working for just one part, one project, and for it be seen, what he has accomplished through the hustle and hard work of all these years, and having three projects out in one week is beyond amazing.

Congratulations - hats off to you! You deserve it.

One Tree Hill - Tonight - 9:00 PM EST The CW Network

The Informers - Movie Premiere - Thursday , January 22nd - Sundance Film Festival

Prayers for Bobby - Network Premiere - Saturday, January 24th - Lifetime Television

OMG Movie Club Reminder - Join us Friday 23rd at 5:00pm through Saturday 24th we will be discussing the movie, The Dying Gaul starring Patricia Clarkson, Peter Sarsgaard, and Campbell Scott.

"A powerful and seductive Hollywood mogul convinces an impoverished West Hollywood writer, whose lover has recently died of AIDS, to sell his autobiographical screenplay for big bucks. The writer, Robert, knows he'll have to make major changes in the script (like changing the sex of the dying lover). During the rewrite, the producer, Jeffrey, takes Robert under his wing, introducing him to his wife Elaine, herself a closet screenwriter. Jeffrey approaches Robert for sex and Elaine approaches Robert out of curiosity about his sex life in grief. The entangled triangle of relationships threatens more than the completion of a film script." - from imdb.com

What a momentous week for us. The inauguration, MLK day, the anniversary of Heath's death, all this Austin stuff. Did not think about it until today but Austin has worn quite a few hats. We'll have lots to talk about this week for sure.

Special K said...

MLK day - growing up in the South for a bit, and going to a predominantly white high school, I still remember one of our coaches/gym teachers, and one of a handful of African American teachers there. He would get on the morning devotions and announcements (Yes this was PUBLIC school) and would read the "I Have a Dream" speech every year around this time. He always said it was important to read it and remind each generation of the past. And that we needed to understand what it really represented. (I can still here him read it with such passion and emotion)

He did say that one day he wouldn't have to read this speech anymore because the dream would come true.

Damn the man can wear a hat.

Love the song.

Just got back from the Doc. I have the dreaded very bad cold/sinus infection. On the Z pac. Works wonders. Best part cant go back to work till Thursday and I get to watch the innaguration in its entirety.

Very exciting for Austin to have 3 events going on this week. He is to be congratulated! I'm looking forward to OTH tonight. Too bad I have to put up with all the other characters in order to get to his scenes, lol.

And now I'm going to try my hand at doing a video link for the sick one - Tom! Tom, this will cheer you up, guaranteed. It's Dominick the Christmas Italian Donkey - as promised!

There we go. Boy, those hyper links are hard work, lol.

I love this song! Even when it's not Christmas! Isn't it a happy song? Look at those idiots dancing. lol. You guys thought I was kidding about that song, didn't you?

Can I go back to this morning's discussion for just a minute? I wanted to say something about the ambition angle in response to something Call It said. And I'm not saying I don't think Call It is right. Who really knows what is going on in his head? Not me.
And Ted C has also made some comments that Jake is not all that he has appeared. But I wonder if it is not as much ambition as a drive to live comfortably. There's a difference, I think.

And when we do things for money, that's when we discover that, and I know it's an old saying but it's true, $$$ doesn't guarantee happiness. And if he really is that ambitious, then why doesn't he appear happy doing what he's doing? Because if it is all for ambition, then it shouldn't be bothering him. So thank goodness it appears he's not as cold as Reese appears to be, because it appears to be bothering him. And he's not near at the Joaquin stage, thank goodness, but there's small troubling signs and why not head it off at the pass before it gets really bad.

I just think it's kind of interesting to ponder without really knowing the why-to-for's of it all. I think part of the tiredness would be BT (s?). Can't help but be tired. You know, once again, I just have to kind of wonder at the timing of the whole thing. When you know you're going to be apart as a couple so much and for so long, I'm not sure why you would plan a family at that time. Raising your first, I would think you'd want it to be a joint effort. Because there's so many wonderful things that happen, the first words, first steps, first roll-over, etc etc. Why would you want to miss out on all/some of that? And raise the child on your own while your partner is off working on the road? It's like truckdriver's wives. They do all the raising of the family, handle all the billpaying, all the house repairs/problems, etc. because the spouse is always out on the road. That's a big responsibility that falls on the one who is at home all the time. I say that because we used to have our own fleet of drivers and I worked closely with them & their wives, saw it firsthand.

Oh well. Just interesting to think about. Well, just about everyone is off today except me, feels like. Everyone I know is off today. Things are kind of quiet. My email is positively dead today. Kind of boring, actually.

Well, looking forward to walking this week - supposed to be dry all week. Everyone have a great afternoon & have a listen to that Dominick song. It will make you grin, I guarantee. Who cares if it's January now. Dominick is a year-round song!!!!

Even the donkey wouldn't be caught wearing a beanie what does that tell you.

Has anyone compared the fedora Austins wearing with the one Jake wore a couple weeks ago?

Special K said...

I don't think it was exact but maybe I am wrong. I do think it was nod to his man.

Anonymous said...

But I wonder if it is not as much ambition as a drive to live comfortably. There's a difference, I think.

I think it's the drive to be a movie star, rather than an actor, just like Reese.

The Christmas Donkey.

It sure is hard trying to put in perspective why two guys who are together so little would bring a child into the world. BT is still so hard for me to believe. But Ted gave the gay shooter a simple YES.

I am wondering how Wicked is dealing with the DC chaos which must be going on today plus I know she is still hurting from yesterday. So close again but no cigar. But kicking the Cowboys butt the way the Eagles did to get into the playoffs made it a successful season for me.

destiny said...

Didn't know hat trick is a hockey term, I learnd something new here almost every day. Austin sure does look good in hats, even the beanie.

I think Jake is ambitious, and that the peoiple aroind him convinced hiom he had toi do what he is doing to get ahead. Who knows, maybe he wasn't being offered the roles he wanted. I suspect he thought doing all this would be easier than it has turned out and/or he was forced to turbn it up by reese, disney, etcm when reeke didn't work. I think that sme of the things that we associated with the old jake that we all loved are stil there and that is why it is taking such a toll. As much as I fear him turning into another Cruise, I don't think he has it in him to do that, or at least not without self-destructing.

The real mystery is which side is going to win out.

Wonder if beanies are Jakes shoutout to Heath or Austin? Can't be a shoutout to cold LA 80F temps or fashion thats for sure haha.

Pic of Toby Mcguire at Ent Lawyer today. He looks like the Jake from 3 years ago and has the confidence and glow Jake should of had at GGs and at all the coffee places in LA. Toby in a t shirt having more star sex appeal than Jake. Who woulda thunk it.

Maybe how Jake gets around town alone w/o getting papped and why he wears beanies (no helmet hair) is he rides a motorcycle.

Austi, light of my life, fire of my loins!

Anonymous said...

J, you light the fire in me

prairiegirl said...

Destiny, your typing on your blkb. cracks me up. Alot of potholes during that ride, lol?

You know. There was a picture somewhere on the net this weekend of Ashton Kutcher wearing the dreaded DumbDonald beanie. Man, I hope this isn't a trend, a la sagging pants.

Speaking of hair, I wonder if Wentworth will grow his out a little now that Prison Break is cancelled? I hope he gets picked up for another show. He really is very charismatic with his eyes, his voice and smile. And T-Bag.

Does anybody have a Pepperjax near where they live? I was a ways from home, paying my Penney's bill and it just happened to bring me near Pepperjax Grill. Had to pick up the ol' shrimp rice bowl. I am telling you, there is nothing better. Rice, pinto beans, black beans, grilled peppers & onions, lettuce, black olives, mozarella cheese, tomatoes, and a squirt of sour cream. Incredible. It was fantastic.

hey austi forget the loins for a minute and whiles you got the fire going, torch Jakeys fuckin beanies and while you at it burn Reeke at the stake why don't ya.

Why bother coming back from an 18 point deficit if you're just going to let them win anyway? Sigh.

We are hunkering down at home until the Inauguration is over. Just went out today to go to the pool. We went to the Inaugural Ball at our church last night and it took forever to get there with all the traffic. It is nuts here. Metro has said for weeks that they will not be able to handle all the people and have been advising everyone to WALK. Crazy.

I know. It's frustrating when teams do that. That was some comeback, too. And in hostile territory. Those white hankies waving in their stands drove me nuts!

Sounds crazy there, Wicked. In a way, I'm sure it'll be nice for things to get back to normal when it's all over with. Boy, the money being poured in to the economy there right now, though. Cha Ching!

How many Lakers games did Jake and Austin go to?

Anonymous said...

Austi, WYSIWYG. All yours, babe.

Special K said...

3 courtside but you wonder if they ever blended in the crowd for a few more games you know with a cunning use of hats and coffee cups ; )

Anonymous said...

Special K: I know you will love this. The founder, Vince Di Pierro, used to be a judge for Sundance.

Anonymous said...

thanks special. you wonder, heh. like when Jake went to the Clippers with his friend remember that a few months ago? Only pics were Jake and him coming or going not in the seats at the game. So yeah I guess he can blend in. And that was back when without a beanie.

another ??: not to be a pain but were the 3 the same season?

Anonymous said...

Wonder if Jake will go to DC for the inauguration. Maggie and Peter are. Other Obama supporters who sang "yes, we can" will go too? or are they busy filming?

Hey Wenty, you know what they say : 'No, means yes, yes, yes!"

Luke ain't coming back. He jumped ship in Alaska. Last I heard he was being chased by Polar Bears down the Alaskan slopes but he ain't given up hope, cos he can just see Russia over the horizon!

Okay, who saw OTH tonight????

Wow, alot more Austin time!! Woohoo. Where did that boy get his teeth whitened like that? Man alive, they are lovely. I'm very envious!! I felt so bad for Brooke after Peyton started to steer her away from Julian. And then she changed her mind. I missed what caused her to change her mind & tell Brooke that she had been wrong.

Gotta admit, my mind's really not on it while the rest of the cast is on, lol. All I care about is Austin's scenes. I can imagine Jake watching tonight's episode and probably having to give Austin a phone jingle just to hear his voice. Boy, I know I would after seeing him onscreen like that. Phew!

And didn't you love Julian in that letterman's jacket? Geez, he almost looked like a senior!

Noticed that it's not on next week. Not for 2 weeks.

Well, time to turn in for the night. Everyone have a nice rest of the evening. Time for the Night Owls to punch in & take over the next shift!

London, what is the big news over where you're at? You're probably getting kind of tired of hearing all our political goings ons. What is the big story there in the big L? Is One Tree Hill on over there? And what is your weather like right now? We are cold over alot of the nation right now. Do you have 4 seasons like we do here in the midwest of the U.S.?

Is that enough questions, lol? Sorry about that. Got carried away.

Well, signing off now. Good night & sweet dreams.

"Wondering" there are pics of Jake sitting with Chris at a game. Can't remember which one or whether court side seats.

I think it's interesting that in all 3 games Austin sat on the right of Jake but Chris and Reese sat on the left of Jake. I tend to do that with my SO.

Hahaha will PR fix that up now?!

Special K said...

Three games but two different seasons. First two games were the 2005-2006 season. Third game the 2006-2007 season.

Rattler -

Indieroad.net is great, showcasing some really good independent filmmaking and it looks like a lot a people are looking at what stuff they are showings. There's some really cool looking projects that they have up there.

What other people see are little films are really the big passions for others.

And they all look right handed so there wouldn;t a reason to switch if 1 was a righty and other was a lefty so they wouldn't be "knocking elbows".

flf and special thanks. Still find it interesting Jake wasn't picced at Clippers game by paps or fans. He wasn't courtside but still. like Special said it makes you wonder how many times he goes. If he and Austin like Lakers/Clippers/bb that much how can you go to only 1 or 2 games a season?

Special K said...

TWO WEEKS to wait for the next OTH - TWO WEEKS

Who's taking bets that they are saving a shirtless Austin for February sweeps? : )

If you notice too that Jake always is to Austin's right in pictures of them walking together.

yes, I noticed that too Special :)

I have my fears about the movie I Love You Phillip Morris, but I love this quote from JIm Carrey at Sundance:

What was it like for Carrey to lock lips with McGregor?

"A dream come true. I mean, look at the guy," Carrey said, gesturing at McGregor during a question-and-answer session with the audience after the film's Sundance premiere Sunday night.

Carrey

I'm on PST so have not seen OTH yet. Can't wait. One hour to go.

Read some suff re Sundance on different sites. I was surprised to find that I love you Phillip Morris does not have a distributor yet. Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor are pretty big names. I like Ewan. Very sexy and another fearless actor, I think. Looks like a cute picture and they said they did not shy away from the sex scenes.

Great music today too btw.

I hope your feeling better Tom.

I had a bf who was deaf in his right ear so I always stayed on his left ans I was going to say maybe thats why Austin-Jake sit but when you said Special about the walking it blew that theory out of the water. It was funny I got so used to talking into his left ear I was doing it to everybody. lol.

Austin was great tonight. Sophia's character said "that grin should be illegal". Truer words never spoken. Moments later Brooke calls it a scoundrel grin and a sweet grin. Also true. Jake never stood a chance. Remember how Austin smiled at Jake in DAT. He used all of those smiles on him.

Lance Armstrong is in Australia racing. Its possible Jake went.

For those who are interested, here is the review of "Phillip Morris" from Variety:

I highly doubt it. The summer of the "Three Amigos" will always be a mystery for me. And it looks like they never spend time together after that summer. (At least not that we know about)

What was the intention? Getting attention??

The other night someone named Sotheby posted that he/she saw papers that Jake had sold his house and then used the money towards Ojai ranch. Did anyone ever find out if this is true? Does Jake really live with Reese?

Anonymous said...

Open House.. no, I don't think anyone could really be bothered. Hope he didn't put his money towards the Ojai house because if he did he's as much financial savvy as his mother, that property must have lost a shed load of cash since last year. Same goes if he brought house in Notting Hill or Mayfair.. might as well throw your money out the window at the moment.

Whew, alot of emails to catch up on this morning. Always kind of hard to communicate with some people who live so far away. When they're awake, you're asleep. When you're awake, they're asleep. So you have to wait til morning to talk to them, lol.

Ahhh, the Nutri Grain Le-Go my Eggo Waffles very good this morning. Big day today, but I have got to say, I'm pretty tapped out with all this stuff. But then, you all know I'm not very politically minded. Little Bus Mind when it comes to politics here, lol. It can't handle too much. So I may tune out a bit tonight; don't mind me.

I do have to say, tho, when Jim Cantore of the Weather Channel is LIVE in D.C., hey, it's a big, big day. Poor Jim Cantore - he's shaved his head totally, anyway, so all the heat is escaping from the top of his head. No stinkin' wonder he's cold in 19 degrees right now. The goof. He was kind of grumbling about how long it was taking for them to let the media in. All the checks and all. But they have to be extremely careful because it is such a big day.

Poor Wicked! Heard they've shut down all the bridges & stuff. Hope you make it in to work. Heck, they ought to just call off all work there for today, huh. That's what I say.

I don't know, Open House. I want to see Sotheby's come up with proof. I kind of forgot about it. He could be living there, I suppose. I think that is something we will never know. Now you know the people who live in Ouiji know. Her neighbors know the truth. Sotheby's & Iris come on here, drop their tidbits that they know are going to stir things up and then disappear out of sight for awhile. The ol' Crop Dusting effect again. I'm not giving it anymore thought.

Well, I'm running late! Gotta go. Everyone have a great Inaugural Day and just a good ol Plain January 20.

Anonymous said...

Sotheby has no way of knowing what Jake did with the money if he sold his house.

Reese can afford to buy a house.

Jake can afford to buy a (new) house.

Anonymous said...

Whatever you think of Reese, I imagine she's quite sharp when it comes to finances. Would she want Jake to have a share in he property so earlier on in a relationship (yeah I know its a fake). She certainly doesn't need his money, so unless it in payment for bearding, why would she want or need his money.

oh and house prices in Ojai have dropped around 12 -16% in the past year, although she's fairly sharp, she's lost a fair amount on that place.

Can't believe I'm even commenting on this rubbish, being in bed with the flu has to be my excuse.

prairiegirl said...

Aw, poor Foxton! Too bad about the flu. Stuff is going around, that's for sure. Hope you get to healing quickly.

Hey, I forgot to add something. Has anybody watched the Dying Gaul yet? I started it last night and it is pretty good. It's getting a little suspenseful where I stopped it.

prairiegirl said...

Oh here I go. Gotta get on here at work & fix something I've said because I cannot let it go or go unclarified. What I mean by he could be living there is maybe he could maintain a separate, for appearance's sake PT residence. And I really , really don't see how that could be the case. Does Reese have an extra room for a nursery, lol?
