One little thing...

Eric Care's children's book, The Tiny Seed is the story of how one little seed makes a difference

In autumn, a strong wind blows flower seeds high in the air and carries them far across the land. One by one, many of the seeds are lost -- burned by the sun, fallen into the ocean, eaten by a bird. But some survive the long winter and, come spring, sprout into plants, facing new dangers -- trampled by playing children, picked as a gift for a friend. Soon only the tiniest seed remains, growing into a giant flower and, when autumn returns, sending its own seeds into the wind to start the process over again.

It just takes one little thing to make a difference.

Sometimes you don't realize that doing one little thing can make an impact on our Earth. Change your light bulbs, start a garden - even if it's a container garden, bring reusable shopping bags with you, use a reusable water bottle rather than throw away bottles, recycle things, reuse things reduce. Everyone can do one little thing each day to make a difference in the world. Not only to make the earth better, but also to make the lives for people who live on it better. One little seed.

Happy Earth Day

Jake has been a long supporter of environmental causes and does lot of little things to help the environment along with bigger ways of supporting environmental seasons. This year is no different, little things like buying and supporting local farmers, having a garden, and using a reusable water bottles to the more public things like working and support Global Green's “National Green Schools” initiative, and again continuing his involvement with LA Conservation Corps.

And you can't forget that first big blockbuster action film, with the earth at the environment's mercy. Although there are plot hole and points of logic that don't make any sense when you think about them, got to say I'm glad he made the it. Why? The environment? Ok I should, but something little less globally minded but because it was one little thing, ok, not so little, definitely not, that spun his world, and Austin's too.

one little thing

The History of Earth Day
The original mission Earth Day, proposed by John McDonnell, a peace activist who interest in the Earth came from working in a plastic plants, was to celebrate Earth's life and beauty and to alert earthlings to the need for preserving and renewing the threatened ecological balances upon which all life on Earth depends. He proposed an Earth Day in 1969 but new he need political clout to help make it happen. That's where Senator Gaylord Nelson (D-WI) came in. He reportedly saw the damage from a major oil spill and got fired up, and went Congress to make Earth Day official. US President Richard Nixon tried to score some points, not that easy during the Vietnam war and a recession,by announcing an "Environmental Quality Council" and a "Citizens' Advisory Committee on Environmental Quality." But people didn't buy it. They said it was just for show. So Nixon signed legislation called the National Environmental Protection Act, which gave birth to the EPA as we know it now right before what most people consider the first Earth Day, which was April 22, 1970. In 1990, Earth Day went Global(you know Earth and Global -- makes sense, why it took 20 years....ask them).

Starting today, it begins the year of celebration and activism leading to the 40th anniversary of Earth Day. Here's hoping that everyone does one little thing each day during this year to celebrate the Earth and the gift we have.

Does anyone have any ideas for little thing or maybe a big thing to do to make a difference?

Most people recycle their cardboard boxes, packaging but a friend of mine who was an artist, did something different, she would cut them up and send them to you as a postcard. And the way she cut them each one became a little piece of art. I use to get all kinds of great mail from her, she even used candy wrappers pasted on cardboard to make them. It's her funky little way to recycle.

Happy Earth Day!

I would say just any little thing you can do, en masse, makes a big difference. More efficient planning of driving, more energy efficient appliances and light bulbs, turning things off when not in use, recycling, reusing and repairing things instead of our throw-away culture. Support programs to replant trees to offset air pollution and global warming. Involve your families. Get around on your own power if you can. I can't believe what I read about Mariah Carey flying out her personal trainer on a private jet, while she's on vacation, no less! Take care of our oceans - I saw a program where trash is piling up at an alarming rate and accumulating, and I've participated in beach cleanups where you just can't believe how much garbage people toss and forget about. :(

As far as the "ass grab/pat gone awry", I agree, I think we've beaten the topic to death. There's no way to know what happened, and personally, I don't care. I try to separate an artist's work from their personal life and behaviour. I'm not a huge fan of the bearding, I will admit. But I will (try) not to let it affect how I view his work on screen.

Loved reading all of your posts last night, especially Sienna's. I hope your dog is going to be ok, and I'm so sorry about the one you lost. Losing a pet is very difficult.

One of my favorite songs evah, love Marvin Gaye.

Have a great Earth Day! :*

Sometimes you can even use the verse. My aunt used to do this too. :)

NYC has a really good recycling program, they pick everything up from the buildings/houses, unlike a lot of cities, so I always put anything they'll take in the bins. I even drag water bottles home rather than throwing them in the trash when I'm out and about. Unfortunately I know there are still a lot of places that only recyle a few things, and they make you haul them to pickup places.

One tip I have is that if I can, I use paper grocery bags if I need to wrap a box for shipping. Sometimes I also use the paper grocery bags to wrap gifts, then use stickers, markers, bows, etc. to decorate it.

Glanced at the Village Voice this morning and saw the The Informers will be playing in 5 theaters in NYC. That's a decent number of theaters if it really is a limited release--usually that means just 2 or 3 theaters. There was also a short review, no mention of Austin. The gist of the review was that with some of the seamier story lines cut out, like the vampire, it ends up just being about spoiled rich kids.

Good Morning Everyone! It's a beautiful day in Mississipp (so far!)

Polly is coming home from the vet after her surgery yesterday. She'll have a drain tube in her neck and our big worry now is infection. I'm sure she'll be on plenty of antibiotics to fight that off. She's going to stay inside as much as she wants to recoup.

As for Belle, the dog who did the damage, my husband is going to rerun the electric fence wire so that hopefully she won't be able to get close to it anymore. We are also pondering the idea of having her canine teeth pulled. This is the second bad fight in 2 months. She's a small pit who came from a mysterious but Not Good background, and she's the sweetest thing, but she has issues with other dogs. She lives in my front yard with the female she came here with and two big males, who she submits too, but she is territorial and no other dogs can come around. If it's a choice between having those teeth pulled and having more vicious fights or having her put down, i'll sacrifice the teeth any day. She won't even know the diff.

As for Jake and honesty... it's a new day for that as well. I don't know how old you guys are, but I'm 44. I was not worth a fake nickle during my twenties. I was the poster child of F Up! I was confused and all over the place trying to figure out how to be happy and mostly just making myself and everyone i came in contact with miserable.

I think it's easy to have higher expectations of celebs and our heros because they live a priviledged life and because we want them to shine for us. But when he goes to bed at night, Jake is just like all the rest of us - a human being trying to find his place in the world. He's trying to balance what he wants and needs with what he thinks he has to do (based on advice and instinct) to get there. He may not be making the right decisions, and as someone said, he may be full of anger because of the way his life is turning out.

As some of you know, I like to write. The second story i sold was long enuf to get some reviews. While some were good, some of the others were AWFUL!!! and i was hurt and humiliated by what the folks had to say about my work.

Multiply those scathing reviews times about a million or so, and that's how many reviews and comments Jake has being thrown at him for EVERY aspect of his life. He can't pick his nose or forget his zipper without it being on a magazine cover. And yes, i think he and Reese have solicited a lot of those pap shots, but still, it has to be degrading to have yourself looking like a fool all over the internet.

I'm not defending him (completely) but i'm saying that - now that we've got our grrrrrr out of our collective systems - i'm trying to step back and give him the benefit of some doubts, and a bit of compassion. My life was as f'd up as it could possibly be when i was his age, with none of the pressures he has to live with. In his shoes, at his age, woiuld i be doing better? Probably not. Is it fun to watch? No. I miss the old days but they are gone. I'm going to hope for better days in the future and try not to let my feelings for him self destruct completely while he finds his way.

Sorry for the long post. I'm terrible about not knowing when to shut up.

Sienna - thanks for the great post. So glad to hear good news about Belle.

And I am such big believer in new days new starts new opportunities new chances. And in hope.

I've had friends that have wanted me to put my photos in shows or sell and I'm always reluctant because I don't know if I can handle the criticism or that no one would like then to buy. So I understand how you feel about your writing.

Sienna, so glad to hear Belle is better. Tink is also quite territorial. Thankfully she is little so she can't do damage to anyone. She was attacked by another dog once because she just had to jump in the big dog's face. Some dogs are just like that.

I am very fond of that Austin brushing against Jake shot from TDAT, especially since it was totally unnecessary to the scene. Just a sweet moment between 2 secret lovers. An innocent gesture to the world, but very erotic to those in the know.

Sienna said...

Thanks for all the good wishes for my dog. It's actually Polly who is doing better. I'm calling her FrankenPoll. She looks likes she's had her head reattached at the neck. I'm gonna post some pics on my LJ later. I'll let you know when, in case anyone wants to be really grossed out!

As for Green Stuff... We don't have many recyling opps here, which makes me sad. My mom's church saves cans to recycle, and they donate the money to whatever cause they are supporting. Currently it's Relay for Life, which supports cancer research.

I save my cans for her, and recently, while walking my little dog Archie, i've started carrying along a plastic grocery sack and filling it with cans i find along the way. I've become rather addicted to it, and the other day I walked up and down the road in front of my house with a black plastic lawn bag and filled it about half way up with cans in a half mile stretch. I'm going to go in the other direction later this week and get those. That's kind of a dual-purpose greenie: picking up litter and recycling. I feel kinda self-conscious when folks drive by, not sure why.

I also recycle dogs i find on the side of the road. That's where Bette, who just died, came from. Her owners abandoned her. We found FrankenPoll and Archie roadside as well. That's basically where Belle, the pit, came from too. She wandered up to my mom's neighbor's house and they took her in, but were going to have to move and couldn't keep her. Her prospects were not good so I agreed to take her and her friend Zena. We have 3 other dogs: one from the shelter and 2 from the side of the road.

So, while you're being good to the environment, don't forget the four-legged wanna-be pets out there. A recycled dog or cat can make a friend for life. :)

yeah but things have changed I think.

Good point about animals on Earth Day Sienna, I believe in "recyling" animals too; all of our cats have been strays taken in off the streets or aquired from the Humane Society or animal rescue groups. Glad to hear Polly is home.

Special... re: tomato plants. Have you seen the ads on tv for those upside down, hanging planters? Well, we have TWO of them. I can't wait to see how this works. I'm not counting my tomatoes before they hatch, but it would be the coolest thing ever if it actually worked. Tomatoes are one of my favorite summer foods. When i was a kid, both sets of grandparents and my dad had gardens, so there was always fresh produce a plenty. Now, we don't even have a great farmers market in the area, which makes no sense considering this is such an agricultural community. I love farmers markets and fresh-grown food. We have some small ones. I'll try to visit them more this summer.

I agree, Sienna, on your post at 1053. I always blast off, then think about it later. Well, not always, but alot of times. It's not that I take back what I said yesterday; I don't think there's anyone on this green earth who hasn't vented about things someone has done that's hacked them off.

And I don't write, but I, along with everyone else where I work, am held extremely accountable. Around here, a mistake can end up costing 100's or 1000's of dollars. Our dept mgr is one of those people who can be great to talk to one minute, but boy, you mess up and it gets bad. She's been my mgr for oh, over 20 yrs. And she strikes fear in about everyone she deals with. People jump. And as she has said many times before, instead of trying to explain something or ask something of you? You get told "Let me tell you what you're going to understand."

It's gotten a lot better the last several years, but I remember earlier under her surveillance, she made me a wreck. I'd be terrified, crying in the bathroom, and it contributed to leading up to the start of my panic attacks. There's nothing like being chastized in front of your colleagues, but when I screw up, I may get real upset with myself, but I have no problem with being called out on it. I've got to take it, I figure. But at least in our dept anyway, you mess up, you get in trouble, told the better way to handle it next time, and then it's forgotten. In the meantime, then, as soon as the opportunity arises, those of us involved then have a mgmt gripe session, lol.

prairiegirl said...

There're alot of stories with this mgr over the years, but one of our office favorites was so typical of how people react to her. Back when she was more involved in our day to day operations, she was the go-to person when problems escalated. And we had a trucking carrier who, if his truckline messed up for us & had to face the music, sometimes that meant having to talk to this mgr. And when you told him that he was going to have to be transferred to talk to her, he would always go, "Oh no...." and it got to the point where all he heard was the first letter of her name and he was panicking already. He bought us lunch last Christmas and we were all laughing about it around the table. He was embarrassed but he was a good sport.

People will do whatever to avoid talking or having to deal with her. You want action taken on something?? Carbon copy her on the email.

I don't know how I veered off from my original topic, but oh well. Maybe because I'm at work and she's in her office over there.

The city where I live right now doesn't have a unified recycling program and I can't believe they don't. So you have to haul it to Wally World or your local church or I think the city has something downtown. But when I lived in Kansas City, you could only have so many bags of trash and then you had to pay or something. But we never had to worry because we recycled so much of our trash that we always only had 1 bag.

I have recycled bags to use; I love those things. And anymore, if I forget one or if I'm at a store that doesn't use them, I just ask to carry it out without a bag. I do anything now to avoid those plastic bags - they pile up horribly and you can reuse them only for so long.

Okay, I'm done. Time to call it. I am baking a cake tonight to take to the church for a funeral dinner tomorrow. So everyone have a nice evening.

Hello you all ,

It's alreday the night at home! Hope you have a great day!

Shame on me , I didn't know it was Earth day , I should feel more concerned by ecology activism , the people who dedicate their time to this essential cause have my entire admiration!
I try to do my best to limit the damage at my level , knowing I should do much more thought!

I hope Jake doesn't have health issues, he seems fine but sometimes serious things happen without pain or visible sign !!
Or he is really hypocondriac LOL and in that case thre is nothing to do , I know this psycologic trouble pretty well , one of my friend goes to the docteur twice a week to be sure she hasn't incurable illness.

Well I would add something , I don't like talking about or speculate on his family's members but I can't help to find his dad a bit odd , I wonder if there is not something wrong in his relation with his kids, I feel him isolated!

Sienna said...

JG's health... Hmmm. Very odd.
Do we know for sure he's going to a doctor? Could there be any other office he might be visiting in that building? i looked on dc to see if they had anything posted about the ick weekend pics - no surprise, they didn't- they are warm and fuzzy till the end over there, which is fine, that makes them happy. anyway, they were speculating about the dr. visits too, wondering if he was in physical therapy from his ankle injury.

he looks healthy, and he looks the same as he's looked for the last 2-3 years, so it's hard to imagine he has anything seriously wrong with him, healthwise.

how long has he been keeping these appointments? i wonder if he could've caught some sort of parasite/bug during some of his travels, maybe while filming POP. a foreign bug can work haywire on an unsuspecting system.

but i tend to agree with the ones here who think it's therapy. if he really is gay and if he really is having issues with it, then he might be trying to get help working them out. plus, there are about a million other issues he could be dealing with. a lot of crap has happened to him and his peeps in the last year. Heath died, Paul N. died, his parents are divorcing and having financial problems, his popularity is plummeting, the movies he has in the can can't give him much hope for a resurgence of popularity unless POP is a huge surprise. There isn't much enthusiasm for it at the moment, is there? And regardless of what his true status is with Austin or Reese, he's knee deep in a relationship that is turning him into a laughing stock in his diminshing public's eye.

I'm not saying that we all aren't sensitive, but i think us artistic types are maybe even more sensitive than your average joe, and he IS still a young man and he's gone from being the media darling hottie boy to being almost a joke. That has to hurt really bad.

I think the popularity of an actor is variable all a long his carreer.
I remember a thought from someone famous in france: "today all, tomorrow nothing".
In a reallistic way, you can't play in cult movie all the time, you make mistakes , all actors have their "crossing of desert" and then come back!!
At least it the way I see things.

As far I concerned , as long as Jake does movies which interest me , I will watch it regardless his private life.

There's a big difference between Reese's 2 Elle covers IMO. Bearding has gone to another level with Coachella PDA and the Elle UK. Look at the difference in the cover copy:

Elle USA: "Reese conquers heartbreak with hard work, her kids, and the "fabulous Jake"

Elle UK: "Reese Hearts Jake"

Jake can't get out unscathed now. I think the Coachella PDA was planned to coincide with Elle, and that this is just the tip of the iceberg. There will be alot more to come. He's trapped yet he's never confirmed a romance with Reese and hasn't said a word. Yet he will be the one to pay the price and Reese will come out smelling like a rose. Ironic isn't it.

The point of the fauxmamce is to sell "romantic couple" image and get publicity. That's clear since October 2007.

Why would Reeke want to spoil all that PR work?

"Elle UK: "Reese Hearts Jake"

The type font for "Reese Hearts Jake" is in a fancy script-like font. The cover has a huge red heart in the background and she's in the foreground wearing a pink dress Besides the Elle header (and the issue and cost) at the top, there's no other copywriting. I'd say that's pretty blatant selling of Reeke.

I understand you Sienna !!!

At the moment I am curious about Brothers, cause the dynamic between the three actors seems great and I admire Sheridan work!
Sure I don't expect a great success at box'office, not the kind of movie but the quality only matter!

Russel is weird, is univers is crazy and so I am looking foward "Nailed". I love movie out of norm, a bit surprising. Jake surely takes a risk but I admire that!

As for POP the risk is even bigger for this one lol, not my cup of tea BUT doing a blockbsuter isn't sign of evilness or the end of the world, if that's work good , if not and if it will be for him the worst humiliation of his life , good too cause he will learn the lesson and realise he is worth better than that lol

After all if Georges "mister what else" have still a career despite the nanar cult "Batman and Robin", nothing is lost and proof that intelligent actor can come to life again!!!!

To end I would say, concerning his private life, it's not really what I wanted like you all, but I have no power and no idea what's going on in Jake head so I wait and see.
Like I said before I only count on my beliefs which aren't certitude though. It's the reason why I prefer to separate the Jake actor and the private Jake.

Nontheless others opinions are important to me and help me in some way.

Good god it's late lol
Ok I have to go and wish you a good evening!!!!

They will also see what is going to happen when they take PoP to Comic Con, and they will have to take it to Comic Con.

I'm bad about conservation other than cutting off lights and saving plastic bags but i'm much more aware of the environment now and I will start replacing my light bulbs with better ones as they go and conserving were I can. I like those new mini herb gardens too. I guess growing one of those in the house will cut down on those little plastic containers they come in at the market.

Speaking of Frankensteins, the Jezebel roundup of magazines had this bit from LIfe&Style: This week in Dr. Rey's Casebook, it's "Who Has The Best Hands In Hollywood?" Rosario Dawson, 29, has "flawless, young-looking" hands. Dr. Rey says, "She probably uses a good skin cream, like Dr. Rey's Well-In-Hand." And, in a horrifying display of Frankenstein-like Photoshop, Sarah Jessica Parker is given Reese Witherspoon's hands.xx

There's a picture too if you scroll all the way down.

There few actor's hands that freak me out. I drive my friends nuts when we watch movies. SJP is one who's hands totally freak me out.

Great music the last couple days. I happen to love Marvin Gaye. I could listen to this soon forever.

Poor Jakey needed two dyas of therapy this week. Cmon Jake.

I agree she doesn't have the best of hands, but Reese's, eeewww. Doesn't work at all.

Here's an interesting story: Did Gavin Rossdale have a 5 year relationship with androgynous rocker Marilyn???

This is a little bit like watching a car wreck, but I found it kind of interesting too, just because I always wonder about the people who insist someone can't be gay--in this case, Adam Lambert. Why is it that all of these people make the same reference to homophobic haters??? And then there is the delusion.

The Gig is Up.

Wanted to say I love Marvin Gayes MUSIC. What he did to his father was deploreable. Not sure what kind of man his father was but what Marvin did was awful.

Motown fan said...

Don't you mean what his father did to him? Marvin Sr. shot Marvin Jr.

Speaking of Marvin, i'm sure ya'll have all seen this, but in case you haven't, this is a good video. Let's Get it On, Jack and Ennis style.

We do quite a lot of recycling where I live. Our local council gives every household 3 bins. For trash, recycling and garden cuttings which are picked up weekly. I also try to replace all our light bulbs with long life ones and it's great to have cool white and warm white bulbs because I really hated the cool white ones with their bluish light.

Not going to comment about Jake today. I'm not sure if the medical centre pics are real or photo ops.

flf said...

Thanks Meg for the graphs. It's great to see that Reeke is not working :)

Maybe Jake should read OMG's "Out Spotlight". You know, just to get an idea what gay people with integrity, courage and intelligence can do with their lives.

Sienna -- back to the garden. I have seen the upside down tomato grower - it would be interesting to see if they work or not. I've lived in some rural areas in my life, and used to love to go over neighbor's big gardens or to the farm behind us. I still can't get the country of me cause the shoes are off as soon as I get home.

There's nothing better than food from the farm stand picked that morning. If my tomato plant looks like its doing ok and I remember to water it, might branch out and add something else easy to grow in a container garden. Maybe I should see if I could grow some basil and then all I need some fresh mozzarella and olive oil. : )

sienna said...

Special K... i don't think herbs are that hard to grow. i'd like to have some this year too. i can't wait to see how the upside tomatoes do. my husband is going to get some plants in the next week or so for sure. my dad and his neighbor still do a garden. my dad is older and not in the greatest of health, so he doesn't help much, but he likes to be involved, especially at harvest time! LOL! we have some acres and might try a garden this year, but maybe just a few things to see how it works. if we are successful, we can do bigger next year.

some fresh tomatoes would go nice with your mozzarella and basil and olive oil! yum!! :)

Special K, I forgot about Sex and The City, though I am sure that was an unexpected turn of events and a new wrinkle Disney has to deal with.

WDW's theory is that Jake helps out at the med center a couple days a week. Hilarious.

I am in final prep for our trip to Italy and went clothes shopping today. What a nightmare. First off the majority of tops seem to be like Reese wears, loose like they are for pregnancy. So that is the fashion these days. To find something age appropriate, well made that I liked was virtually impossible. I gave up.

Integrity who? said...

flf, slow down he might know, so what? Maybe it might not really concern him, you know just because you insist he is gay he does not necessarily mean he is. I haven't seen yet anything to really substantiate your claims. Do you personally know? Did he tell you? Were you hiding under his bed? Talking of integrity... how much integrity does someone who makes strong remarks like yours, based on fluff, have? And you know it is flf, since you call yourself that name.

flf said...

"integrity who?"

I'll tell you a secret. I snuck into Jake's house and was actually under his bed, when he and Austin were going ...uh...uh...uh... ohhhhhh GOD!! so yeah, he's gay as a goose. And I've got pics to prove it too but you know what? I'm not gonna show them to you!

And you can think flf means fluff. Whatever makes you happy.....glad you read all the fluff I write!

I think WDW was being satirical?

Yes, Marvin Gaye's father shot him dead during a family argument. Marvin Gaye's father passed away in a California retirement home at 84. Deplorable of Marvin Jr. to die like that. One of the greatest talents who ever was. Loved him. :(

I'm a little mystified about the video of the teenage girl talking about Adam Lambert not being gay. Admittedly, my YouTube isn't working, but judging by all but one of the comments, to make fun of a young girl who obviously is clueless and doesn't know any better is beneath us, seems to me. What happened to taking the high road by "educating" instead of spreading the hate?

There was an interesting article posted at WFT2 from Queerty I think which made the case for a new "queer cachet" in which stars capitalize, take advantage of, and I'll say it, just flat out pretend, about their sexual ambiguity to get ahead in their careers, and suggested same about Adam Lambert. Food for thought.

Seize the day! :)

Bitch-Back! Gyllenspoon Bores; Aniston Heats Up

Dear Ted:
How much longer do we have to endure the Reese and Jake showmance? Every photo op becomes more nauseating. I've almost totally forgotten why I liked Jake to begin with.
—Gagging in NYC

Dear Acid Reflex:
Why on earth would something like this rub you the wrong way?

Dear Ted:
Toothy Tile and Judas Jack-Off are George Clooney and Ryan Seacrest, right? There's a reason Clooney isn't married.
—Annabelle

Dear Double the Fun:
Clooney-babe is a tad older than Toothy and is more established in his career. And actually, Ry-guy hasn't been one of our B.V.'s. And trust me, Clooney is not done surprising you yet, not by a long shot.

Dear Ted:
Maybe you should introduce Grey Goose and Dashed Dingle-Dream to each other. Do you think they would make a good-looking couple? Do you think they would both be willing to be "out" if it weren't for their partners?
—Imqaatdbru

Dear Share a Closet:
I think they're both infatuated with their leading men. But maybe someday!

^^Marvin Gaye's father pleaded manslaughter and got six month's probation for his son's murder. Supposedly he had a brain aneurysm. He spent his final days in a CA retirement home, I put 84 by mistake, I don't know his age when he passed away.

Dear Ted:
Didn't you write a story about Channing Tatum and something-something? Just saw a preview for his new movie—Fighting—with Terrence Howard. Channing looks hot. Can you dish any dish on him? Oh, yeah—he's not Toothy, right? Seems like you've noted everyone in Hollywood for Toothy, but they're about the same age, aren't they?
—No Snarking Here Just Move Along

Dear Taunting Tooth:
Yes, they're around the same age. But Channing's far more discreet about his indiscretions, I assure you.

So is Ted suggesting Austin would be out if he wasn't with TT, or is this just another vague answer.

I put that video up of the delusional fangirl because I think it is important to educate yourself about what is out there, and how the minds of homophobes work. YOu can't fight homophobia by sticking your head and the sand and pretending there are not people like this out there.

As for Lambert, he just happened to know that someday he'd make it to American Idol, so he staged all those photos when he was younger so he could play the ambiguity card when he made it. Yeah, right. I'll admit we don't know for sure if he is gay, but it is clear that he has no problems kissing men and dressing in drag. I don't know too many straight men who are comfortable doing that, they're at least bi, like Bowie.

^^I agree with you, but it seemed kind of cruel to focus on a clueless teenage girl, when there are more virulent homophobes out there, especially in high places.

I think homophobes in both high and low places give each other much needed support and that both need to be rooted out.

OMG I just realized Ted's clever 2-meaning title: Gyllenspoon Bores. Bores as in dull, and bores as in drilling. LOL

destiny said...

Criticizing someone who went out of their way to post on YouTube is not cruel. This girl clearly wanted to spread her hate, and she even ends by asking like-minded people to contact her.

If you're going to express your views for all the world to view, then you should be prepared to take the heat. And given how often I see the term "homophobic haters" bandied about on places like OMG, Perez, Datalounge, etc. I think it is a problem. Clueless teenagers become tomorrows bashers and adults in authority who can do some real damage.

I would love to have a real conversation with one of these people. First up, why do they think that if you say someone is gay you are homophobic?

David Bowie does admit to being bisexual. He talked about it in an interview in Blender several years ago, and talked about how it hurt his career in the United States, but not in Britain.

Okay, I just got it, rub the wrong way is clearly a reference to not only the fact it is fake, but to the anal probe.

"ITA with Ted here.

What did Ted say exactly? He sure didn't answer the question on how much longer it will go on. If anything he's disputing the letter writer's claim that its a showmance by showing the ass rub vid.

Not that I agree here but I think he worded it poorly, especially by not saying anything that it was planned or a setup or whatever.
