Spring in Austin and Central Texas is something to be seen. While it is warm enough to have wildflowers all year long, it is Spring that is just simply spectacular. The fields are filled with Indian paintbrush, primroses, phlox, winecups, poppies, Indian blankets, verbenas, Black eyed Susans, Mexican hat, and of course Texas bluebonnets.
There are fields of bluebonnet all around Central Texas and Hill Country and many people stopped along The Capital of Texas Highway, plopping their babies and children in the middle of the bluebonnets while they snapped away and the babies beamed. (well you hope they beam)
It seems like of right of passage, no doubt there is a picture of Austin and his sister Ashley doing the same thing when they were little. Now,would his mom send that snap ahead to make Austin bit embarrassed during an interview? I say yes she seems like she would get a kick out of showing her baby boy in field of bluebonnet. And the ladies in the audience just melting. Hilarie, could get a hold of it for the next Southern Gothic promotion and fundraiser.
Is it me or can you envision the fields in a Texas spring like paintings of the Impressionism movement. How inspiring would these vistas be. It must be another reason why Austin loves his Texas.
Texas bluebonnets and the hundreds of other Texas Wildflowers were so important to former First Lady and Texas native Lady Bird Johnson made sure that these flowers and their beauty would fill along the roadsides and highways of her home state for good.
Mrs. Johnson was an environmentalist, and she was an active worker on innumerable projects. During her husband's presidency, she enlisted the aid of friends to plant thousands of tulips and daffodils which still delight visitors to our nation's Capital. The Highway Beautification Act of 1965 was the result of Mrs. Johnson's national campaign for beautification and conversation of native plants and wildflower. In 1999, she presented with the Native Plant Conservation Initiative Lifetime Achievement Award.
She chaired the Town Lake Beautification Project, a community effort to create a hike and bike trails and to plant flowering trees along the Colorado River in Austin, Texas. In 1969 Mrs. Johnson founded the Texas Highway Beautification Awards, and for the next twenty years, she hosted the annual awards ceremonies and presented her personal checks to the winners. She was a trustee of the American Conservation Association.
On her 70th birthday in 1982, Mrs. Johnson founded the National Wildflower Research Center, a non-profit environmental organization dedicated to the preservation and re-establishment of native plants in natural and planned landscapes. She donated 60 acres of land and a sum of money to establish the Center which serves as a clearing house of information for people all over the country. She realized her long-held dream in 1995 when the Center moved into its new and larger facility and became a part of her alma mater University of Texas. In December, 1997, the Center was renamed the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in honor of her 85th birthday.

I remember the harsh comments from Austin very well, but some choose to dismiss them and blame Jake for everything for whatever reason.
Any rational thinking person who did not know the two boys and did not have any biases of them would understand this. Even if you were bias you can see or understand this. It's not hard.

Austin has done a little bearding-lite. Remember that dinner with Jennifer Esposito? Still, he hasn't had a serious gf for years, or apparently asked any girl to attend a premiere with him.
Talking of Jennifer I think she's such a natural comedienne. I've seen her in lots of projects, but I particularly had to laugh at her as Andrea in Samantha Who recently. Her character is bearding for a famous gay athlete, and when he's papped kissing a guy she sobs into her gin: "I'll miss it so much: the limos, the parties, the spreads in People. I looked so airbrushed, and pretty, and ---- happy....I'll miss the airbrushing most of all."

After two years, i think i'm done being a fangurl. Somehow Coachella just did me in. I fell in love with Jake vicariously because i fell in love with Jack Twist. I guess i've finally realized that Jake is no Jack. I still love Jack but Jake.... mmmm.... at the moment, no.
At the very beginning of my interest in him, i really wanted him to be gay, and he gave me good reason to think he might be. Someone said he looked really lonely and sad (in response to my comment that i missed the believeable pics of the old days) but i didn't think so. He was out all the time with Chris or his BFF's MM and LA, or he was just out and about with various and sundry folks that we didn't know. Sometimes with his family, and sometimes, yes, alone. But even if some of those were staged pics, they looked genuine to me.
If I really believed Reeke was the real deal, altho i'd be disappointed at having my little fantasy crushed, i would still be a fan. However, there is nothing about this relationship that seems genuine to me.
The Bird from the weekend didn't bother me. Sometimes folks flip off their friends in jest, or maybe it was a snide pap remark. I just don't take The Finger to heart like some folks do, altho i can certainly understand how folks like Jersey Tom were offended by it. If I'd felt like he was flipping US (his fans) off, then yes, i would've been offended too. However, i think that it was meant for just one person, whoever he was looking at when the pic was taken, and i'm not going to think anymore about it. He certainly didn't do himself any favors letting that picture get taken. It is a rude and classless gesture, regardless of who it's meant for.
The Finger up the Asshole was what did it for me. I'm not sure why. I've read all the different analyses of what he was doing but i don't see anything but him giving her a mini-procto. I kinda reminded me of Ennis always wanting to do Alma up the butt because that's what he really liked. But in this case, i have no explanation for why he did it, what he was trying to gain or prove or accomplish, but it grossed me out and was kinda the last straw.
I'm kinda bummed out about a lot of things right now, so maybe when i'm feeling better overall, i'll get some of my interest back in him. But for now, just thinking about him makes me feel queasy. Yesterday at the airport i didn't even want to look at any of the magazines because i didn't want to see their faces on the cover and i didn't want to read more about any of his weekend.
Not that he cares, but he's totally driven me off. One less pesky fan to worry about. Go Jake Go.

Where was the hand-holding, the flowers like Jake liked to do with his female friends to make them look like dates, the sightings in the tabloids about "how in love they looked" or "they were sooo affectionate with each other between sips of wine." Where were the pictures of them sitting in front of the window in the "bad seats" of the restaurant next to the cash register because that's the only room that has windows (yes, it was at the same restaurant Reeke did that at). And we all know Jake wasn't going to be seen out to dinner with Austin, he was already into his "be seen with no one but Reese for two years" campaign.

I think I've made it pretty clear over countless posts were I draw mine, and if Austin ever crosses it, I'll be the first one in line to blast him for his it.

Jake Gyllenhaal apparently had the mistaken idea that he could happily -- and anonymously -- share a weekend music festival with his lady love Reese Witherspoon in relative obscurity.
A source who hung out with the couple at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, Calif., Saturday says, ''For some reason, Jake must have thought wearing a hoodie would be enough of a disguise ... but when you're with Reese Witherspoon and a bit of an entourage, you're bound to attract attention -- even in that mob.''
Gyllenhaal has never liked the constant attention his relationship with Witherspoon has drawn. In fact, the continual glare of the paparazzi supposedly contributed to the duo ''taking a break'' less than a year after they initially began dating in March 2007, five months after the Oscar winner's divorce from ex-husband Ryan Phillippe became final.
When they did get back together last spring, ''Jake realized he was stuck with the paparazzi, but that doesn't mean he'll ever truly accept it,'' said a longtime friend of the actor's family Monday.

I've never seen Austin display any signs of bearding. Having dinner with a female or being in the company of a female does not equal bearding. Based on my own personal experience, gay men have lots of female friends. As to his comments about the rumors, my interpretation was that it was not the gay allegation per se that he did not like or challenged, but that people felt free to make any comments at all. That celebrities were fair game.

The movie is an epic romance and you have to a lead can make people fantasize that he is the dashing available prince.
It's also an adventure based on a video game, to get young guys into the theater. Dating Reese, doesn't give a lot of cool cred with younger guys. I don't think most young guys will put her on their top ten lists. And if you asked younger guys bet they would just say what? she's old. (sorry but guys are blunt)

I know. We've truly reached a point that requires an iron stomach, no joking. I hope you'll still come around - you always have great comments and it's a real pleasure to have you in the community.
Jake will lose even more of his gay/bi loyal following after this weekend. It sealed the deal for me. Not as far as myself believing that he is gay. I still believe that.
But I am withdrawing from the pool of whatever you want to call it, fan, follower, whatever. The Perez video and the entire weekend of that Cockroachella was the final straw. I cannot support someone who is getting so far removed from the things that I found endearing as well as attractive. He may still be physically hot, but what he's doing and the lows he is stooping to in order to carry out his apparent & desperate need to appear straight to the masses has tainted that physical beauty (gee, I sound kind of melodramatic, don't I?).

If they split in 2004 and had been together for 7 years, he would have been 17 (?) when they got together. Does anyone know who they really are at that age.
^^The "one date" refers to the dating Austin has done since the end of his long-term relationship with the ex-fiancee. They got together when Austin was about 18, so I'd say it was real but people change a lot in their 20's. Including exploring sexual preferences.

Thanks for the hugs guys. i need them today. we just got back from our vacation. my husband's new job is back on the fence, one of our old dogs died last night, and while he was burying her this morning two others got in a fight and now one of them is in the hospital with half her neck laid open. it was horrible. i have to go back to work today and train my trainee, who is so bad he's scary, and i'm not in the state of mind to deal with that at all. not sure what i'm going to do.
anyway, i guess all this is just the icing on the cake. for the last 2 years i've thought about jake everyday. i've written stories about him, as both Jake and Jack, i've read about him and watched his movies and followed his life in the magazines. The advent of Reeke was awful for me, but i hung on, hoping it would end. i mean, damn, how many hollywood rebound romances last this long.
and while i've never been totally convinced it's real, i'm not totally convinced it's completely fake either. i'm on the fence. the folks who believe it think we're nuts for thinking it's all a PR campaign. i still tend to think it's mostly smoke and mirrors, and i was ok with that for a while, but i'm not anymore.

It seems like they were together in 1999-04 in California. But remember Austin did Holiday Under the Sun in the Bahamas, Surface in NC, spent 5 months in Montreal on TDAT, and a couple months in London for Wimbledon.

i went back and watched it 2 more times, to see if i could see what you saw. i considered your take on it when i watched it yesterday as well, and i'd like to be able to get that out of it as well, but i can't.
i've seen folks yanks wedgies out of their butt cracks boocoos of times - i've even done it myself a few times. it involves grabbing the offending material and pulling it out. he didn't do that. if anything, he gave her a wedgie or made it worse.
any kind of reasonable butt affection wouldn't have bothered me, like i said early. guys and girls often express booty pda in public. i wouldn't have liked it, but i wouldn't have been offended by it. it's just the finger he chose to use and the place he stuck it seemed awfully telling to me. it doesn't seem accidental or coincidental or just a casual move that anyone might get caught doing.

I don't think Claire was a beard, and the fact that people went to two different high schools doesn't mean they couldn't have possibly met and started dating. Beyond that, there are so many reasons why he was with her: love and friendship, trying to do what he thought was the "normal" thing to do to fit in, thought he'd change, he was a late bloomer when it came to recognizing his attraction to men.....People also have a habit of simplifying the facts, and if you're going to start counting time away for movies, well, it's probably been double that for Jake and Austin.

And like you I"m putting this in the context of the whole weekend, not as an isolated act that some pap just happened to catch. Two years ago I was more inclined to think he was being forced into the bearding to get work and felt a bit sorry for him, but not anymore. Jake is a very willing participant in this, and clearly wants to get rid of fans like us. Well, you know what, he succeeded.

On last post for awhile, I promise. First, Ted's latest is pointless, and not even totally correct. If Jake is gay, well, truth is a defense to a defamation case, but I guess you'd be taking a chance that Jake wouldn't lie under oath. Also, some of the specific stories about TT may be hard to prove or may be just gossip. Then again, Jake is a public figure, so he'd have a higher burden of proof if he sued E!
Second, today's post is really beautiful. I love the gif of all the different flower photos. I'd really like to get to Texas some year to see the wildflowers. Also, there was a sad story in the NYT today about how so many wild animals are suffering in Texas because of extreme drought, especially whooping cranes. If animals are suffering, plants probably are too.
One thing about wildflowers are that they are hardy and can survive through in tough patches, rough spots and through a whole lot of conditions. They keep blooming.
Guess that's one of the reasons I posted this today. ; )

It's nice to know I'm not alone in my feelings of revulsion over that video. I felt unsettled about it for a long time afterwards and wondered why. Why this more than a hundred other Reeke stunts. Sienna, you encapsulated precisely why perfectly. It was a crude, blunt, premeditated gesture meant to send a message and I think you translated it pretty much word for word. I look at them walking away and think, "wow, I am really done with these two". Absolutely a line has been crossed for me now and, like others, I don't know if I'll be able to cross back. They've never been more gross or infantile. I don't like them as people and they keep adding more fuel to that fire. If they were acquaintances in my own life, I wouldn't care to know them.
I can't reconcile Jake the person and Jake the actor anymore; I don't even try. I love and admire all his work up to and including Zodiac, and I think that's where it'll end for me for the foreseeable future. His bearding, behavior and Reeke Inc. have put me completely off going to see him in anything new (I couldn't care less about Reese in any way). It's funny, reading the comments about Jake wearing his hoodie at Coachella Donnie Darko style made me realise how much of a disconnect has occurred, I don't even see him as the person who portrayed Donnie anymore. He was brilliant enough to disappear in that role (not to mention that of Jack Twist), but those characters exist separately from Jake for different reasons for me now.
Worst of all, my interest and admiration of him as a fellow lover of animals, the environment, music and great acting has dissipated. That supposed renegade spark and spirit that I thought really could see him through as a successful, strong and contentedly out gay man seems to have fizzled out, if it ever existed.
I knew I was starting to feel indifferent quite some time ago, but it's confirmed now. I don't pretend that I'm a threat to his fandom with that statement, but I don't suppose "indifferent" is a description Jake and his team would want to hear from too many fans.

It's possible that Jake's gesture was meant as a rude one towards Reese, not his fans. Really, it was not a nice thing to do, period. It could hardly be construed as loving or even erotic. Just because he goes along with the bearding does not mean he likes it. He has shown rebelliousness about it before.
Its all on the web, did you expect Austin to say well I realized I was gay when Jake and I fell in love so I dumped her? I take that break up story with a grain of salt. Yes I notice that Claire has used, and still does some of Austin as inspiration in pieces, and did a painting of Matthew, was included on an profile article on him. If you check out Maroon 5 website you see a shout to Claire in their list of friends, Austin's hung out with the band, and Jake grew up with Adam. And Jason Schwartzman who co-starred with Kiki dated Claire. You gotta wonder if she introduced them. It's a tiny little world.

This post brought back some wonderful memories of when HGTV used to show old Charles Kuralt shows early in the mornings. I had never watched him before but I really came to love his style & work through HG by seeing these old shows. What a storytelling talent he had; and the most wonderful voice. And he told stories about everything and anything. The most trivial thing he could talk about, but he would make it sound so extraordinary.

AS far as the butt thing over the weekend. I still have no clue what he was doing. I did check closely to see if it looked like he was giving the finger in a weird way. My final guess is that he wanted to do something which seemed sexual because he knew the cameras were on but got a little confused because he doesnt feel sexual toward her and that just came out of no where. I'm totally with you about JG as well. I have been slowly falling out of the fandom for the past year or so because although I loved both J & H I realized what I felt towards them as actors was completely out of whack with their real lives (my mistake). Dear What? I'm going to respond a bit to the discussion you brought up in your post about Jake and Austin. However, let me start by saying: I am not an Austin fan. I'm not Anti-Austin, I'm all for Austin, but i wouldn't know him if he walked in the room, so i can't comment at all on his life or dealings. I'm trying to hang on to being a Jake fan, but it's a struggle these days.
No one really complains about Jake dating Kiki, as far as i've seen anyway. I don't know if some folks think she was a beard or not. I tend to think they were lovers, which leaves me thinking Jake is bi.
I don't think the issue is with Jake trying to discover his sexuality, because none of us think that's what Reeke is all about. I don't think there is anyone posting here (at least based on the posts i've read for the past couple of weeks) who feel Jake is unsure about what he likes and is trying to find himself by dating a woman. If that was the way it came off, i'm sure there would be angst and disappointment, but not the kind of anger and disgust that he's engendered with so many of us.
IMHO... this isn't about sex. It's about honesty. If Jake wants to date a girl, more power to him. If he wants to get married and have babies, go jake go. If he and Reese gave even the slightest In Love Vibe, then i'd say, "More power to you."
But they don't. Our little group here isn't the only group who thinks they are fake. Most everywhere that pics of them are posted, a large portion of the comments are negative about one or the other or both. I know that some people totally believe they are the real deal, but i also think that more and more people every day are realizing they are a sham, and more and more fans are getting tired of being faked out FOR MONEY.
Because that's why he's doing it. It's not because he desperately wants to get the hardhitting roles that will let him exercise his acting chops. It's not because his dad is running for president and it will hurt the campaign if his son is suspected of being gay. It's not because he's a well-known homophobe who can't deal with the shame of being out in society.
It's because he realized that the gay rumors were cutting into his offers and his pocketbook, and instead of dealing with that head-on - Straight or Gay - he's decided to hook up with someone who's bigger and richer than him, hoping she'll drag him out of the gutter of his supposed queerness.
Now - how is that supposed to make his gay and gay-friendly fans feel. When he got up on stage on SNL and talked about his unique fan base and had the J&E cowboys in the audience and sang in a dress, it was so encouraging to all of us. Whether he was gay or bi or straight, he was saying, i'm comfortable with who i am and don't really care what you think. I'm cool!
Now, he's reneging on all that by saying, "I'm SOOO not gay. See, i'm dating Reese Witherspoon. We spend our weekends together - we shop, we get coffee, we eat out, and we exercise together."
And still most folks weren't convinced. All his months of work were backfiring. His supposed success and increased cred in his business wasn't happening like he thought, and the harder he tries, the more negativity he gets. So i think the Finger Probe this weekend was a desperate attempt by him - maybe them - to force people to recognize that they truly are intimate. We could wave off a cheek pat or even a squeeze as being no big deal, but it's really hard to understimate the closeness of a couple who feel comfortable doing anal probes while walking WITH A FRIEND in front of PAPARAZI down the sidewalk. They are obviously a real live romantic couple. He's fingered her ass in public on camera. It's official.
If there was anything about this relationship that rang as true, if there was even a smidge of a reason to believe they were the real deal, then we'd just go "ICK!" and move along. If we could find some way to rationalize his behavior, i know a lot of us would. Personally, i've been rationalizing away his junk for a year and a half, since Heath died and he blew it off completely.
The way Jake is acting is totally different from the way Austin is acting, and like many of us have said today, for me, Jake crossed a line with this. I'm going to hang around and see what happens next, but my opinion of him has changed because of his behavior.

Clarity I had a dog who came so close to being ran over by a car when I was a kid. Someone was backing out of their paeking spot and he was right near the back wheel and not looking. Looked at the caps. Special could be right about the wedgie. Reese's skirt looks bunched up but you see all of Jake's fingers, then her skirt's flat and still see all of his fingers.

I understand some of what you are saying, but I am not offended if Jake is gay and does not come out and decides that he wants to be with Reese. Like I said, and I will repeat, I have spent too much time even reading the post let alone posting.
Jake's portrayal in bbm was enough for me! He could be gay, straight or bi!
I did believe some of what Ted wrote, not much. I believe Jake likes both sexes. But it's all a belief, that's all.
He could be stratght as an arrow, but since I'm not around him, I don't really know. But like most people here, I'm sticking with my belief.
But most here have always said it's just speculation here, and we all can do it, but most take their speculations as the Truth.
How can that be?? And, they get really emotional about it. As if what's in their head is
"the truth". This I don't get, and maybe it's not for me to get.
I don't dislike Austin, but it's clear to me from what "I" read, he does not want to be associated with being known as gay, even if it's true. For now anyway. The issue I have is that he is made to be, by some here as OK because he has not offended "me or US" with acting like he wants to be with a woman. I don't care if he does date a woman.
He has to live with who he is or who he is projecting, Jake also. And, some people have to come to grips with it sooner or Later. If they are both gay as most here think, maybe some day they will. I don't think some here can wait.
I just find if a waste "for me" to continue to be upset with someone especailly since I don't know the whole truth.
Maybe it's me, but I have not been one to get too involved with celebrities lives and equate my worth, my well being, and my value system to what they do or are doing in their private lives.
I know to some it looks like I'm trying to protect Jake, but I'm not.
I don't understand the anger.
Maybe to some, a daily dose of negative comments may help them? Because they are upset with what they "feel" he is doing? But I hope not.
Like friends and relatives in my personal life who have "situations", Jake and Austin will work it out. All of us humans go through situations. They don't need my help.
I see some posters are leaving the fandom, and I think it's time for me to take a break and take notice from afar.

Jake is the first actor I took noticed to for an extended length of time because of his performance. A part that others would not do. He put life into a part that made me think. He and Heath, and I am forever greatful for that masterpeice that they helped create. It will live on.

What?, you made an excellent post just now. I agree with alot of it. And I agree that Austin does sound like he, too, wants to appear straight.
What told me that was a couple of comments on his Southern Gothic blog. They had me scratching my head a couple times. Huh? Uh, I thought....now why would he say...that?...
But you are right. No, we don't know 100%, but I feel pretty sure. Uh, I feel pretty sure just by Little Jakey making his cameo appearances in the company of men. Have we seen Little Jakey with Reese yet? For sure, he should've popped up after that buttpoke, right?
And actually, PearlClutch up there probably does have one thing right. The Buttvid probably won't make it out elsewhere - it's probably been confiscated now & put in a vault so it doesn't make The Best Week Ever. Because I don't think these pictures of little Jakey ever made it out. And you know they would've created a big stir if they did. But for some strange reason, they never have. Now, What?, I'm not losing sleep over this, no. I'm going to sleep fine tonight. Slept real good last night - I just don't get enough hours, that's all. With the exception of my dad's lung cancer, I have no reason to be sad about anything; I'm totally blessed. And even with my dad's lung cancer; there's been a blessing. He's heard from more people & friends ever since they found out he was sick. He says he's never realized how many friends he had. A Protestant Church (and you have to realize my folks are STAUNCH Catholics, lol!) quilt group made my dad a quilt throw and for every large stitch or something on it, is a prayer said by someone in that church. He was so proud of that and he was just stunned that a group of people he didn't even know (and a Protestant church at that - aw, come on, Dad!!) were praying for him and made this quilt for him.
So, see? I still have the priorities lined up alright for the most part, I think. And so does everyone else here, I think. This blog is for fun, but sure, we are emotionally involved when it came/comes to these 2 guys. There's nothing wrong with that.
If there's one really good thing these 2 guys have brought to the OMG community that I can see anyway, it is that we have come to know each other. And some of us have met, are going to be meeting, or are communicating by other forums. And it's being a real blast. So, for that, I'd love to give those 2 guys a huge hug. Uh, no anal probing tho, Jake, that's alright, buddy! lol
Now, just a couple more things before I hit the hay - I have been out birthday shopping for my Vegas aunt, the one who used to leave here for a couple yrs with my cousin. Boy, do we miss having them so close. sigh.
While we were @ McD's, my brother called. They had used the IHOP giftcard I gave him & his wife for Easter. So my niece & nephew were telling me about IHOP; it's a real treat for them to go out. I guess they love IHOP. My niece had a real starchfest - Kraft Mac n Cheese and French Fries. Phew! She said it was great. lol.

After watching the video a few more times, the one thing I hadn't noticed earlier is that even though Reese doesn't flinch, she seems to very quickly put some distance between herself and jake. Classic move of someone who has been touched inappropriately.
The other thought, Disney can't be happy with this. 200,000 views after one day is nothing to sneeze at. Plus almost 200 comments, most of them nasty except for the usual they're so cute variety.

Hey Destiny. Now that you say that about her reaction, one thing that does come to mind. Her reaction to him when he leans over to her at that eating place? Remember the tummy pic? (you know how they play those little ditties from their vans) Then I realized it was the Music Song of the Day. LOL!!! What an idiot I am sometimes.
I'm wondering if maybe Jake was on something or been drinking. The vid obviously was done right after the first shots of them (Reeke and Plaid) in the parking lot, when Jake had his arms crossed and his zipper was down. So the scenario is they were standing talking, Jake had his arms crossed, he didn't look really happy (but who's to tell if he was or not), his fly was down, then the 2 shots of him walking off by himself with Reese and Plaid behind him. Then thats when the vid starts, the walk. The next part, #2 of the vid is whern he puts him arm around her shoulders. Its meant to look continuous but the part after that, #3, the ass grab, wasn't done after part 2 because Jake is on the wrong side. In part 2 Reese looks stoned but it could be she was shellshocked from the heat.
I guess what I'm saying is I agree about destiny's comment of Reese moving away after being touched inappropriately. About her not getting mad or flinching, maybe Reese knew that Jake was on something or had been drinking and she was giving him some slack. If Jake was on something it could explain the forgotten zipper and the inappropriate ass poke, IMO.

my dad loves sports and he gets totally worked into a frenzy when his team doesn't win. he doesn't have any money riding on the game, he doesn't know anyone personally playing, he doesn't even have any friends that will give him heck about it if his team doesn't win. but still, he really really really cares.
i think we all need SOMETHING to care about that doesn't actually matter in our real lives. it's fun to have something to debate and discuss and argue about that doesn't impact the mortgage or the groceries or the paycheck. and by coming here to this little blog, we've made friends and we get to talk about j&a to our hearts content without having people look at us like we're crazy. and if they do things that disappoint us or make us angry, we vent and rant and rave, and then tomorrow most of us will be back with hope in our hearts that maybe this is the day Reeke will be over and Jake will come out and Toothy will be revealed and the world will be a better place.
it's my little fun thing and i really enjoy being able to discuss into infinity the ass probe and how squicked i was by it, and yes, my feelings have been rather harsh today. but for me, it's not because neither one of them are willing to come out. yes, that would be brave and admirable, but that's their choice. i don't talk about what i like to do in bed, so i can't really demand that info from them.
but it is disappointing to hear them disparage even the idea that they might be gay, as if someone were accusing them of being pedophiles or arsonists, and it's really discouraging to see Jake backtrack so far away from his very cool, easy going demeanor to this much more unfriendly, uppity persona. And it's disappointing to see him trying so hard to sell us on Reeke, when it's so terribly fake looking. it just seems to me that if there were any truth to it at all, it would show.

So yes, regardless of what Jake does in the future, Jack Twist gave me a whole new life, and i love him for that, and because of that, yeah, i'm sad that Jake is going down a path that i don't want to follow. i wanted to be a fan forever, but i need to be able to respect him, and that's kinda hard right now.
like many of us have already said, tomorrow is a whole new day, and i'll be back, hoping for something good. and since this is my fun thing, i don't feel like i'm wasting my time. i just have to keep it in perspective! :)

Sienna's discussion of dishonesty being the root of Reeke dislike was excellent. Timing is everything, and in a post Bush USA, where many think they were lied to for 8 years, a lack of honesty is particularly distasteful. I've said this before, people have a 6th sense about lying. You may not be able to put your finger on it (no pun intended) at the moment you hear a lie, but something triggers an unsettling feeling that stays with you and that's why Reeke doesn't sell long term.
It is possible that the gesture was so awful because Jake really did not know how to pull it off. Had he done it to Austin, I would have the same reaction because it was not playful, tender or erotic. It was just weird. Disney is probably not happy with it. It certainly was not princely. Avon is not happy about it either, I'm sure. I think we've beat the issue to death now.
There have been times when I think Austin has been ready to come out but he has now been cemented into the closet with Jake, like it or not.
For myself, I will ALWAYS think that there was something maybe brief between Jake and Austin.
All I can say is good luck to Jake if he has chosen Reese.

I personally think recreational drug use (not drug abuse) is fine in small, er, doses, and I go to a lot of indie festivals. I'd say 60-70% of people are off their heads on ecstasy or acid (more rarely). It's part of the vibe and it's always been part of the Coachella vibe (along with low-level alcohol buzzes).

Sometimes USA shows Wings @ 0530 in the mornings. I loved that show - think I've said that before on here. This morning is an episode with that old grey-haired man, Carlton Blanchard. He was whiney and asked all kinds of mundane questions, drove them all crazy, especially Antonio. He just killed me. Just killed me. I have been laughing throughout this episode. Gilbert Gottfried plays his nephew in this - and you know how his voice can be. Between the 2 of them, the cast is about ready to strangle them both. LOLLLL! Carlton's voice just kills me.
Well, m, you're right. I don't think one digital act has ever had so much discussion.
I know it wasn't positive energy, but sometimes the bad has to be aired out along with the good. For me? I don't want to get out of control or focus too long. But for a day, it helps me to let it out instead of stewing. And it really helps me out to hear what others have to say. How they see something. I mean, Special's thinking of a possibility? I never would've thought of that, not in a million yrs. Not out of the realm of possibilities at all. It helps me to think it all out. I don't think that's bad.
