Call it The Martinize?

The last movie that I saw?
Hmmmmm.....

Is this what all the cool kids will be wearing to the playground now?
Or will it be the new look for L.A.M.B. and the No Doubt Reunion?

Hey kid, looking good! We got a lot in common besides just the hair, I have the same shorts and hoodie 'cept mine's in a bigger size. And like you I got a big girly girl I hug and straddle but in the grownups way. Man I envy you though, I have to do all my oral in private.

LOL, cute post, and very funny "Austin".

LOLL! That's clever, Special. I never would've put that together.

Oh man, I just finished dying laughing not too long ago. I received an email that was a clip from that TV show with Drew Carey & that one guy from the Drew Carey Show, the tall one. Something about My Line, Funniest Line, What's My Line Anyway - is that it? Oh well, It's a clip from when Richard Simmons popped in to help the guys do a few sketches. Oh. My. Dog. It's a killer, it's a killer, Jerry! a killer! lol, had to sneak a little Banya in there.
Oh, I was dying. I can't believe Richard did some of that stuff. And Drew Carey is just rolling all over his desk, dying. LOL, and that was the family hour they did this? lol.

Hey, why so quiet today???

I don't know hardly anything about politics, you guys know that. But George Clooney did say that what happened in California is all the more reason to get it on the ballot in 2010 or 2011. I bet there'll be alot more vigorous campaigning next year if they can get it on the ballot again. I hope so; I would love to see it be a winner in the big NO category. It does surprise me just as a Kansan that a state like California, which I've always perceived as way ahead of everyone else's time, to lag behind a state like Iowa.
That's kind of crazy when you think about it.

But big change doesn't happen overnight and it seems like with the states so far that acknowledge & accept gay marriage, that is a step in the right direction. There's still so many great things going on that I think are wonderful. I think that Ellen having her own show and it being just hugely successful after her coming out is really big. It's a big deal - well, was a big deal. I guess what's even better now is that no one thinks anything different about it.

Wow. Bush's soliciter general, Ted Olsen, a raging conservative who defended Bush against Gore in the Florida election case that gave us 8 years of Bush (ugh) has teamed up with David Boise, who defended Gore in that election case, to challenge Prop. 8 in federal court. Olsen says he is doing it because he supports gay marriage. And these are really big guns,

Prop. 8 Challenge//

I haven't read any details yet, but my guess is that they may be using the fact the law let some marriages stand, but others are denied, violates equal protection. I am hoping they are smart enough to do this in a way that strictly involves Prop. 8, since taking a gay marriage case all the way to the Supreme Court is an iffy proposition. This will take a lot of time as it's just starting out in a district court.

Special, remember we were talking about that mole not too long ago? I happened to remember that while googling last night and it looks to me like it's still there. If anything, it just looks faded or something.

Anyway, while I was in Google Images and going through page after page, it was amazing to contrast pictures through the years of our mr. Jake. It really, really is startling.

You look at alot of the pictures of him from the time he was in October Sky-time up to now and it just is something.

For one thing, it seems like all actors must have to put together some kind of portfolio or something because they all seem to have these pin-up like pictures, where they're posing those Tiger Beat-type pictures for the tweens & young girls. And then as they get older, they start the seductive pictures. Even Wentworth has some of those. I guess they use these to give to directors or something when they're trying out for a film? Anyway, I"m getting off subject.

It's just amazing to see Jake be flashing that million watt smile a 100 times to Sunday in so many pictures and then starting with that promotion of Rendition where him & Reese are standing there like mannequins, this decline of mood. And that beard (which must've been for Brothers) didn't help, but it's startling to see the difference in him over the past several years and compare it to so many back in 2004-2005. He really hasn't smiled a whole lot in pap pictures over the past 2 years. When you see it in one slideshow sitting like that, it's seems undeniable.

Well, the Yoplait Yogurt Smoothie is gone now and time to get back to work. The BB is gone this week but not any time to play.
Our biggest excitement today has come from my lil buddy - she scratched her eyeball with a fingernail last night and it's pretty unsightly looking. So she's gotten all kinds of advice, suggestion to go to a walk in, nagging to call a doctor, and even a doctor's card to call.

It's always something. Well, everyone have a great afternoon.

So Austin started a new trend. Love it. Feeling better today, though nothing has changed. As they say, I hope the ruling has awakened a sleeping giant.

Prairie Girl, I have stopped looking at Eyelashes on DC forum specifically because they post mainly old pics of Jake. It's like looking at a stranger. You are so right about the contrast. I still hope he will come to his senses.

destiny said...

Ditto what you guys said about looking at old pictures of Jake is like looking at a stranger. Except that I can never decide which is worse, seeing pictures of the happy, confident sexy Jake that has disappeared, or looking at what we get now.

Busy day today. Hours of trying to find a Long John Silvers in MA. (I kid I kid - just had too)

As soon as I saw Kingston with the new hair I though of Martin. And with Gwen with her roots in the 80's its a possibility she and Gavin saw The Informers.

There is a kind of picture life cycle to rising actors.

Jake was definitely funkier in his early twenties in contrast to now think it is a combination of growing up and as well as his team. When you look back you see yourself you're usually a lot more funkier in your late teens early twenties too. Sometimes there are those you look at and think, ohhhh I loved that and others you look at and say ... what was I thinking.

Little Teaser from interview Jake and Mike Newell about PoP that will be in the July issue of Empire Magazine

**Empire Magazine: Exclusive Gyllenhaal on Persia**

As Dastan, Gyllenhaal is charged with battling the shadowy cult of assassins The Hanssansin, a heroic role that the newly-buff leading man claims says him to the role. "I'm always fascinated with these kinds of stories of the hero's journey," Gyllenhaal told us. "You're playing a legitimate hero, you know? I think it's an honour to do that."

Newell, meanwhile, says there's much more to Prince Of Persia than Gyllenhaal roaming the sixth century with his top off. "This isn't just kind of kiss kiss, bang bang," stressed the Four Weddings And A Funeral director. "It's like a superheated, super-actioned Noah story. It's what happens when the gods get angry and so fed up with humans they want to rub them out and start all over again."

But Newell's promising that his leading man will have the tools to meet all this divine fury blow-for-blow. "There's this wonderful line - and I can't remember where this comes from - which says, 'So long as there is just one man, you can't kill us all...'"

Good afternoon you all

It's already late here but I don't want to sleep. In fact I am a bit disturbed by a movie I just saw few seconds ago LOL. An horror movie! This kind of stupid movies which wouldn't even scare a child but me yes LOL

Nontheless I don't know what is worst, this movie or this Prop 8 affair!!!!
I am so sorry, disappointed and angry about that, like you all. I think I don't get it! maybe never won't. Why some people woudn't be entitled to happiness ????
I would like things change in France too. 5 or 4 years ago a couple of gays got married in a little town, against the law of course. The mayor accepted to marry them in the town hall and doing that he put himself outlaw but he wasn't afraid because has been an activist for gays rights for long time.

Few months after the wedding has been cancelled by the governement. The mayor became a hero though!!!!!

I don't know really about Obama's intentions on this point but I haven't the impression he is ready to care of the issue.
Maybe if a man like him takes the good decision, others would follow him.

Just hope.

Ahhhh more POP!!
Jake sounds like he realised one of his childhood's dream saying that lol

For sure to be on set of a such movie must be different of classical drama.

It's a Two-fer! said...

'So long as there is just one man, you can't kill us all...'

In other words: "You can kill 99% of us, decimate 99,000,000 out of 100,000,000 but oh my god we're still going strong because there's still one left in the world." How convenient! A script line from POP that Jake can borrow and use as his battlecry after he loses his fans from bearding and being an overall asshole. Very nice!

From todays Awful Truth by Ted.

No. 5: Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger

In honor of Robsten and the MTV Movie Awards this Sunday, we're counting down our favorite winners from the past in the Best Kiss category—and also our top reasons why Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart should win this year.

Our fifth fave lip-locking moment goes to Jake and Heath in Brokeback Mountain. The good-lookin' guys took big risks with the film, and since the Academy didn't honor their acting (at least not with a nice bigass win, ya know), why not give 'em praise for what they do best: laying on the smackeroo's real nice.

Jake and Heath actually playing tonsil hockey with dudes, though, is obviously a stretch. So why should Robsten win? Because those two practicing their smooches offscreen is much more realistic.

Plus, they don't give a damn about what people think of them…a tad unlike Jake G.'s smarmy acceptance speech in 2006.

Love Kathy Griffin's My Life on the D-List her mom and dad(who passed away) cracked me up who were on there with her. They loved their box of wine, and happy hour in WeHo, where they had their own set of groupies. Kathy, her mom Maggie and Lance Bass were out at the anti-Prop 8 rally last night.

Sooo what do you think about Kathy Griffin saying Jake is not gay? She's known for her caustic blabber mouth so was she wrong about it at the time or was she telling the truth (and we've all been wrong), or was she lying to protect him or was she playing with the definitions and technically not admitting he's bisexual or was it a joke?

TBH her statement that she made and hiding a Baby Tile are little doubts that nag at me about Jake being gay although I'm 90% convinced he is. What are your opinions on what she said? Also I added the afterelton link where it's talked about. I don't know if it was the blog writer's opinion or afterelton's official stance on it but it's pretty much "Jake is straight".

Gyllenhaal's not gay… and the gays all want him. They're done with Cruise, they've had it, he's too crazy…You know the gays are moody. You gotta keep up...” --Comedian Kathy Griffin on Larry King Live, July 11, 2006.

Why does Ted say this is a stretch? I'm confused :(

destiny said...

Ted italicized a few words (actually, obviously and much), which makes me think he's just being sarcastic. Below is how it appears on AT:

Jake and Heathactually playing tonsil hockey with dudes, though, is obviously a stretch. So why should Robsten win? Because those two practicing their smooches offscreen is much more realistic.

I love the fact that Ted just called out Perez for stealing the quote he got from Clooney on Prop. 8 without even attributing it.

And yes, I've changed my avatar, love the photos of Sophia from the rally in Weho last night.

m said...

Thanks for the tip Prairie Girl, I am totally hooked on that story. For the record, I do not recommend reading 300+ slash pages in a short time period. It takes the thrill away. But I am caught up now.

Ted has a penchant for being facetious so I take his comment as sarcastic. What is more interesting is that most of the comments are about a Robsten kiss (the Pattison pairing). Personally, I don't get it, but I guess people probably did not see why I was nuts about Jake a few years ago either. I think Pattison is just too young for my tatse.

Well, just popping into say goodnight and hope all are doing well.

The Sci Fi station was showing a Land of the Lost marathon on Sunday. LOLLLL!! I happened to watch an opisode on Sunday while dogsitting because I used to watch that show as a kid. It's one of those Sid & Marty Kroft shows. Oh man, it was so campy!! I used to like that show - I thought it was so cool. And I watched it on Sunday and the alien/monster things were sooooo fake! LOLLLL! oh gosh, it was so bad.
Now, Wichipoo? Witchiepoo is still scary!! HR Pufnstuff is still cool. So are the Banana Splits. I think I would even still like the Bugaloos. But Land of the Lost was I don't know...what was wrong with my head back then?

m, if you ever get your email going, can you let me email you? I have some LJ news and I'd like to share opinions on some stories that I don't want to bore anyone with here. Please!!!!

lol. wow, nothing like begging in front of everyone, is there? I have no shame, no shame at all.

Well, time to wrap it up. Boy, following the boys can be quite the challenge, can't it? I mean, there is just nothing at all going on with them right now. We have these drought-like spells.

Boy, I'd love to come out to D.C. for that rally. Seein's how we can't seem to get any going on in Kansas City, I have to go outside the state lines to participate in one. That would be cool. I don't know, just kind of tossed it about casually in my head.

Destiny, I like your avatar. I really like Sophia. I also like Hilarie Burton. I sure wish her character wasn't going off of OTH.

Okay, I need to go. Good night to everyone and sweet dreams to you.

I've never been a fan of AfterElton. I think they like to play at being the good little gays who never make "trouble". I remember that particular article, I know nothing about the writer, but it always struck me as sounding like it was written by a straight fangirl.

And after over three years of following the saga of Jake and TT, I'm certainly not going to change my opinion just because a gay friendly comedian said she thought Jake was straight three years ago.

Someone on wft2 posted a link to this video with Adam and Kris talking, around the 1:17 mark Adam makes a comment about being a top. It's funny, outrageous and sweet all at the same time.

JAKE COMES OUT! said...

Okay so it's not the one you were expecting but hey every time someone comes out it helps.

Believe it or not, until very recently, the Discovery Channel never had an openly gay man on any of its programming. That all changed with their new reality show, Out of the Wild: The Alaska Experiment.

Jake Nodar: I think there are so many kids who really struggle with this and are brought up hearing that it's wrong. If I can be out there, really representing somebody from the gay community, and somebody a little different from what you typically see on TV, then that's just great.

GREAT GREAT article written by Matchbox 20's Rob Thomas in the Huffington Post about why he supports gay marriage. The best argument I've read, seriously.

I don't post much anymore but I check OMG every day! You have opened my eyes as to how things are publicized in Hollywood and how
different a person's life can be
in private! I will probably be joining your JFC discussion.
Explain where the expression came from: "gay as glitter" was it
in the discussion of TT's boyfriend? You have me a little confused.
Prairie Girl, I hope you and your family are doing good. I will catch you all later.

Wicked said...

That is a great piece from Rob Thomas. I love this line-

There isn't one person who is against gay marriage that can give me a reason why it shouldn't be legal without bringing God or their religion into it.*

I'm still waiting for that argument too.

Boy, I'd love to come out to D.C. for that rally. Seein's how we can't seem to get any going on in Kansas City, I have to go outside the state lines to participate in one.*

You should!

New Rob fan said...

I like this line: I believe the fact that an atheist, who doesn't believe in God at all, is allowed to enter into the holy land of marriage while a gay Christian is not, shows that this law is arbitrary.

New Rob fan said...

And this: A civil union has to do with death. It's essentially a document that gives you lower taxes and the right to let your faux spouse collect your insurance when you pass away. A marriage is about life. It's about a commitment. And this argument is about allowing people to have the right to make that commitment, even if it doesn't make sense to you. Anything else falls under the category of "separate but equal" and we know how that works out.

Rob's had his own gay gossip. Back in 2005, there was gossip about Rob being caught in bed with Tom Cruise by his wife, and that Tom quick went and found Katie. Rob addressed the rumors, saying "If I were gay," says Rob, "Tom wouldn't be on the top of my list. It would be Brad Pitt. I'm more offended by the rumours saying I'm Scientologist."

Tom said...

Ouch!
