In the Numbers

On Derby Day there are a lot of people who will be involved in all kinds of predictions with numbers, so some on that theme, here's using numbers to forecast with an OMG twist.

Numerology dates back to Pythagoras, the Greek mathematician who live from 569-470 B.C., is said by many to be the originator of much of what we call numerology today. The actual origins of numerology predate Pythagoras, the most popular being the Hebrew Kabbala.

It has those who believe in what it reveals and others who see it as more as entertainment. To each there own.

Numerology is the study of numbers, and the manner in which they reflect certain aptitudes and character tendencies, as an integral part of the cosmic plan. Each letter has a numeric value that provides a related cosmic vibration. The sum of the numbers in your birth date and the sum of value derived from the letters in the name provide an interrelation of vibrations. These numbers show a great deal about character, purpose in life, what motivates, and where talents may lie.

Sticking to the beginner level, here are four basic numbers :

Name number

Relates to how you express yourself in the many outer experiences of your life.

Destiny number

Also known as "Life Path" or "Birth Path", this number remains constant in your life (doesn't change with marriage, initiation, etc.). It tells a lot about why you are here on Earth and what you are meant to accomplish.

Personality number

This number is derived from the consonants in your name and relates to the practical side of your life, such as career and personal relationships.

Soul Urge number

This number is derived from the vowels in your name and relates to the subjective, inner aspects of our lives.

So what do the numbers say about Jake and Austin?

And see if you can guess who is who from the descriptions.

Name Number :
8
ambition, power, production, money, security, practicality, materialism, status oriented, power-seeking

Destiny Number:
1
independent, individualistic, martial, original, assertive, dominating, forceful, willful, pioneering, leading, initiating action, attaining

Personality Number:
1 independent, individualistic, martial, original, assertive, dominating, forceful, willful, pioneering, leading, initiating action, attaining

Soul Surge Number:
7 philosophical, quiet, analytical, introspective, understanding, intuitive, inspirational, reclusive, knowledge, awareness, studious, meditating

Name Number:
7 philosophical, quiet, analytical, introspective, understanding, intuitive, inspirational, reclusive, knowledge, awareness, studious, meditating

Destiny Number:
4 stability, firmness, security, conservative, practical, forms, systems, solidity, objectivity

Personality Number:
5 expansion, change, adventure, speculation, visions, growing, evolution, curious, active, resourceful, struggle against limits, steady growth, a foundation

Soul Surge Number:
11 mass communication, group effort, intuition, cooperation, impersonality, higher spiritual plane, intuitive, illumination, idealist, a dreamer

So Who's who?

And if you want to see what your numbers say you can try it out here.

FYI: Update about Southern Gothic, they're getting so big they're growing up. Sunday they are going dark while they move to a new website and format. Don't worry they are packing everything from the blogspot and taking it with them and adding new stuff too. Congratulations guys!

Not to worry we will make sure to update the link when it happens.

^Thanks Ted's poster from last night about the trick with the slash. Blogger has driven me crazy with the spacing lately.

Tom - I think that grin was all about where he was going on that flight. Cause that was an Austin grin. He wouldn't waste that one on Ted and Michael K.

Thanks for the reminder about the Derby! I'm not one who thinks animals should be used for entertainment anymore in this day and age, but I can't help but love the Triple Crown because of the beauty of horses - I love them.

I love this numerology stuff too - PG, we're going to have to analyze your dream!

Oh, that's terrible news about The Informers! I didn't think it was that bad - it had it's flaws, but the story had a lot of potential. I think what was so funny about the funeral scene was that it showed that even his mother didn't really know her own son, picking that Pat Benatar song that he didn't even like. Not only were the kids self-involved, but the parents as well. :)

When the movie was over, Spesh looked at me and said "Robert Altman!" and I looked at her and said "David Lynch!" and that pretty much sums it up. :)

I have to say I was a little disappointed in the sound track too - I didn't think there was enough of it? I could be wrong. Maybe I should see it again sometime. ;)

Hey netb, good morning! I loved yours & Special's movie review yesterday, although I was totally lost. I liked the picture of the theatre sign the best. Looks like one of the old fashioned kind where some guy stands under it with a long pole and puts each letter up, one...by one....by one... I knew I wouldn't get that movie, I knew I wouldn't. I am just no good at those kind where you have to think & think. And too many stories going on at the same time. I'm totally lost on Prison Break. It was so much better when they focused just on the prisoners. Now they have all these other mean, bad characters in it and there's just too many people to try & figure out.

The numbers thing is really interesting. I counted up the vowels in my name, oops. I wonder if you're supposed to count your middle name, too? I didn't do that. Well, will have to try it.

And that's exciting news for Southern Gothic. Great exposure for Austin as well. You never know where these kinds of things can lead.

And now? A very special episode of...no, no, no, no. Remember when shows used to say that? And next week, a very special episode of.... And you knew it was going to be very serious.

Anyway, before I left for the day, I wanted to say something. And it kind of ties in a tiny bit with the Marie Osmond thing, which I may have been totally wrong about. I just could've sworn I had read about her speaking out against Prop. 8. There doesn't seem to be any real confirmation anywhere on the 'net, though, of her stance. It could've changed; we don't know.
And even if it hasn't, I am not going to call her names & get nasty about it because I still have alot of respect for her & I have always, always liked her. She's very real to me. Like I think I said, I have followed her since I was a teen.

And how I feel about the instance if Marie is/was pro Prop. 8 is tied in to why I am back here, a glutton for punishment, and despite how my feelings about the 2 boys are not near what they were.

I can tell Jake did alot of damage this last round of Reeke. I think he burned some bridges on that one, some of which will not ever be rebuilt. We've lost some people here and there is no denying that. There are some of us who are still here but I think more so out of a sense of community than out of anymore fascination/fondness/crush/admiration/whatever for Jake and/or Austin. And it's sad, although people's tastes & feelings change all the time and it's just a natural flow in life to move on.

But he did seem different, didn't he? Who could really pretend to be that combination of dorkiness and boyish manhood ?? Couldn't be an act, right? And when you've seen this gradual 2 year decline culminate into one weekend of behavior that we never thought we'd see the day, it's like a croquet ball in the stomach.

But like I feel about Marie Osmond, I can't stop liking her. Like a family member who messes up, can't stop loving them just because. Because why? Because I myself screw up. I have treated some friends badly. And most of all, I have done things which have been a slap in the face to the One who loves me the most, despite all the ugliness I've ever had in me.

So, I may rant & get so mad at this guy Jake til I have to take a break. But unlike other celebrities who I could care less about, for some goshawful reason, I just can't seem to give up on Jake. I still have this hope and until that hope is just smothered out & dead, I just keep coming back, wiping the slate sort of clean and pick up the pieces again.

I know. How many times do you have to be hit before you say "Ow", huh? Well, I guess I 'll find out.

I just hope that in all these stores that Jake keeps shopping in, he'll realize that what he's looking for is not in any of them. What he's looking for is not in the glitz & glamour that Reeke is bringing him. And by the look on his face in some of those JJ concert pictures, he knows it. But like Destiny said, he just keeps spinning & spinning on that hamster wheel, hoping that at some point, it's going to find him. It's not. He's got to go find It. And it's not in those stores, buddy. It's not. But he has people who don't know him who do care about him. And it's not like some school crush or anything because I'm old enough to be his mom. He's a lost sheep and I'm going to wait til he finds his way back. Or give it my best shot, anyway.

So, anyways. I'm still here. And I'm not asking anyone else to come back & pretend they feel the same. Cause I don't. But I can adjust and see where we are going to go from here.

I have to go now. Sister is waiting & we've got to git going.

Everyone have a great Saturday!
lol, that sounds kind of lame after such a woeful comment, don't it?

pg.. you having really lost me, I've just been away in balmy Budapest for a week (very highly recommended but you have to like spicy food and peppers). Now I'm back though can't say I can really summon up much more stomach for the next round of Reeking which unfortunately I feel will be coming soon, sure lots of people feel the same.

I'll keep waiting though, as you never know what might happen, and of course Austin is so darn cute, its nice to follow his career's progress.

My comment today is that I still see that index finger. Cant get it out of my mind. Never thought I see that from someone who was so sweet. I hope that feeling changes. Like PG I love this community and will not desert it.

Can I add, its nice to follow Jake's career progress as well, although it would be so, so, much nicer if we could do that 'sans Reeke'.

PG, you feel the same way that most of us have felt at one time or another, but like Tom, we won't desert our community either. Nobody would ever fault you for speaking your mind, or the entertainers you admire. I know we can sometimes get a little heated in our discussions around here, but when all is said and done, we love our group.

Have a great day all! :)

Ditto what Tom and PG said--except for the bit about Marie Osmond, I've read some not-so-nice things about her. I know there are a lot of great Mormons, like Steve Young, but I do think the church had a lot to do with Prop. 8, and I was just reading how a lot of the people in the Bush Administration who had input on the torture issues were Mormons, and this comes from a newspaper in Salt Lake City (albeit the one you would call the opposition paper). I'm linking that story in case anyone cares to read it.

Prairie Girl, new chapter of Where the Monogahela meets.. went up last night and it is hot, hot, hot.

A reminder, you will not see me much, if at all, after today until May 19. We depart tomorrow very early flight to Milan. While we made sure to book hotels with web access, we will be sightseeing every day, traveling between cities, dining and drinking. My husband and I will also be sharing one laptop which presents a problem all by itself as we are equally addicted to our favorite sites. Even if I do not comment, I will be lurking as often as possible. No way am I abandoning Jake, Austin or Toothy. Hopefully whenever someone says hey where the hell is M, someone else will remember I am on vacation.

M, I'm jealous that you're getting away for so long. I'll miss your comments, but if you enjoy yourself even half as much as I think you will in Italy, you might find yourself not fighting as much as you think over that laptop. Have a great time.

And I echo M's suggestion about wft2. I read the post on Stephen Fry and found it well worth a read.

Have a great trip, m! Sounds wonderful and you'd be surprised how you can get away and not miss some of the things you think you cannot live without.

netb, I'm not abandoning the community. That's what I was saying was that I have to take breaks sometimes, but I'm not leaving. I have too much friendship invested here. Or maybe I'm being faulted for leaving once in awhile. I know, it's surly behavior & tantrumish, I'll admit it. One of my many faults. I don't flip fingers, but I do have a mouth on me & I'm spoiled. I apologize for walking off sometimes, but believe me, you are alot better off. Because if I were to remain around, my rants would be tiresome & very negative. You don't want to see that. It's best that I walk it off on my own away from here.

prairiegirl said...

And Meg, I'm sorry if I confused you. Man, girl, you are a worldwide traveler. Where in the heck is Budapest? I've heard of it but I'll have to look up where it's at. I have missed seeing you around. There're several taking breaks like I did. flf, for one. smiley had been gone for a little while. Orchid's taking a break. Clarity's taking a break. lane's been missing in action a little bit. sienna's been gone a couple of days, I think. ECF comes round every businessquarter, don'tcha, ECF? Aw, I'm just teasin ya. Seaweed was here just yesterday or the day before. BlueVelvet, BV, I'm not sure where you stand on all this as I don't know that we've heard from you in a little while. I don't remember seeing you around Cockroachella time. Kacie, well, lil' Kacie is remodeling; she's wrapped up in paintcans and thinner but she comes 'round the mountain when she comes. Stubborn, was here just yesterday or the day before? Not seen hopefulTB for a little bit. NG checked in yesterday, was it, ng? ag, I think you were quicker at bouncing back after Cfest than I was, that's for sure. Elinor's the new, everfaithful stalwort. Destiny, she's our stubborn rock. London, m, netb, Tom, they've been here no fail. Who am I missing....I know there's someone(s) that I could just slap myself silly for forgetting...of the ones who've been regular for the past year, anyways.

Special K said...

So no one is going to give a guess at who is who?

Stubborn TB said...

So no one is going to give a guess at who is who?I thought that the first one sounded a lot like Austin with the overall theme of being the dominant and protective one but yet determined to achieve what he planned for himself. Him being more introspective also fits as well as being very individualistic.

The second one sounds a lot like Jake with the his being a very active person and loving to interact with a lot of people. And I do think he's a dreamer at heart, so that also fits in my view of him.

Not all of the descriptions fit (at least not from what we know about them) but most of it does.
If I typed in the same information as you, I think I guessed right, no?

pg.. budapest is the capital city of hungary, carry on east from austria, but stop before you get to the ukraine, sort of. Actually its two city's, Buda being the old city on one side of the Danube, Pest being the newer one, on the other. its extremely beautiful and well worth a visit.

I just deleted a big ol' honkin' comment. I don't want to go on about another subject I wanted to touch on as I don't want to spoil the post here today.

Great. So do I get excited about Jake being in Texas? Only to open myself up to getting hacked if she's in Milan now and he'll be headed that way after Texas?

What on earth is she doing in Milan? I thought she was filming on the east coast in the states.

Meg, take my hand, will ya? I think we need to hang in this together. Thanks for the Budapest insight. I've heard of it. That sounds awesome. Ah, and Austria. Land of Johann Strauss, Jr, one of my favorites.

I have to leave. Our friend is here (my camping friend!) and we haven't seen her for awhile. She's having a hard time right now with some personal stuff and we're going out tonight. She just keeps spilling bad news after bad news.
I told them I just had to finish my thought here & wrap it up.

So, I wish you all a good night.

netb, this is really bothering me, though. I hope you weren't coming down on me for leaving the community like I did. I'm really sorry but I couldn't help it. I suppose that sounds weak. What can I say. I don't want to be thought of as a deserter, but I guess if that's what I was, then I'm sorry.
Anyway, I hate to let people down. If that's not acceptable to the group, then I certainly don't need to be where it's not wanted.

NETB said...

Hi ((((PG))))!

No, I wasn't speaking about you at all! Sorry if it appeared that way, I was speaking more about myself when I said I was leaving, and hoping to make you feel better with some support that a lot of us have felt the way you do. Pap pics on x17 posted on Tuesday, pics of her at the airport in Milan posted either 4/30 or 5/1 and pics posted on a site i never heard of on 5/1 in L.A. Something is fishy, like the pics of her posted on a snother site I never heard of supposedly on the set of her new movie in Philly. The problem was that they weren't from the set because that movie isn't due to shoot until July.

If the pics from Monday are dated correctly, then that means she was in Italy for 3 days, for business??

What is the real date of the pics from L.A. dated 5/1 and also the ones from Tuesday?

Also If you noticed, the set pics didn't make the usual rounds (except for ONTD). That's because obviously she isn't filming.

Today is 5/2, why are pics supposedly taken on hursday are popping up on Jared today when they were posted on some obscure site.

More puzzling, why is PR making it seem like she is in several places?

tr said...

PR is letting you know she has arrived in Italy to be with Jake for M&P's wedding via JustJared. The walking down the street pictures place her in LA during the week. The dates may be tweaked to make it appear that Jake left a week earlier and that she stayed in LA until Ryan was home or almost home. They don't want it to appear that she is spending unnecessary time away from the kiddies. She lives for them ya know. Just ask her, she'll tell you all about it.

mommy dearest said...

But would she leave them on Mother's Day?

Don't get it said...

I'm confused. While I don't doubt that PR want's everyone to know she's in Italy for this supposed wedding, the pics on that site have her in Milan on 4/30 and LA on 5/1. So that means she was leaving Italy. I still have doubts about a Maggie and Peter wedding. Maggie is so anti-pap that I can't imagine any kind of personal news like that being leaked. Also, Jake has been MIA all week, proving once again he can fly way under the radar when he chooses to.

LA said...

I bet the L.A. pics dated on 5/1 were actually taken earlier in the week like 28th or 29th. She was papped in LA on the 27th. 3 days in Milan? Could be business, who knows but I could see PR not looking like she ran off to Italy mid week instead of waiting until Ryan got hoe.

People participate here because they want to. There are no obligations. If you want to take a break, you can feel free to do so without explanation. If you want to leave entirely, same thing. If you want to give an explanation, go ahead. It's a choice. Not posting here for any reason will not let anybody down. If someone says it does, it's their problem.

PR tactic #147 said...

Doesn't matter now if there isn't a single picture of Reeke at the wedding. Jake doesn't even need to surface at all. Neither need to to do anything at all. She's been placed there in Milan, in Italy, and that's all the fangirls will need to spin out a wonderful story of Jake and Reese standing teary eyed while the vows are said, both secretly dreaming of their own pap infested wedding.

Seaweed said...

Enjoying your Numerology 101 Special and the brilliant side trips you take us on to keep our minds otherwise engaged when the reeking gets too oppressive.

When times are tough its fine to take a break if you feel that's what you need PG, just the same as its OK to share you opinion with your friends here on whatever comes to mind.

I'll share with you my reeke blinders, which are quite large and block out a lot of offensive PR material and some of what Jake appears to be doing which rubs me the wrong way. It's my defense mechanism I guess. This allows me the pleasure of believing what I see in those pictures with Jake and Austin as the real thing, and helps me recognize those rare occasions when Jake is being more himself as I had come to know him (from a distance)over the past few years.

I wonder how many of us just check in daily without comment and have made OMG part of their regular routine. Why not just stop by any evening and just say goodnight...

Good night everyone.

My guess is that the first one is Jake, the second Austin. One thing I was not clear on is what if you have had multiple names. Does it change each time your name changes or is it tied to your birth name.

M actually Austin is the first and JAke is the second one.

And can I ask why do I see four bikes and three riders in the bike pictures from Itally?

And the fourth bike seems to be with them is a man's bike? (the one next to Maggie)

pros and cons said...

Men's bike

Bike is about same size as Maggie's (she's a tall girl)

Handlebars are higher than Maggie's which would mean the rider is taller

Seat is low (midget size) BUT it's angled sharply down (the way someone likes it) so it could have been lowered temporarily

Kickstand is down, something the Chin would do

Anyone could be using the 4th bike, Mom, Dad, etc
