Mullet the Gyllenosophy?

The Gatecrasher gossip page of the New York Daily News is reporting:

" If you've ever fantasized about Jake Gyllenhaal rocking out to Whitesnake while swinging his mullet, you may just get your wish. A source tells us the "Brokeback Mountain" star is neck and neck with Zac Efron to play the lead in the big-screen version of Broadway's 'Rock of Ages. ' "

But will Jake be able to look like this:

or end up looking like this:Wait isn't that really Efron in the yellow? He did make a deal with the devil. Wait it could be Chad Michael Murrary from OTH.

Now here's inspiration for the next picture for US Weekly - think she would do it?
Who are we kidding .
Your grammar lesson of the day:
Jake Gyllenhaal rocking out to Whitesnake - One capital letter and the whole thing changes doesn't it?

Could we hope that he channels his inner David Coverdale and follows the song "Here I go again on my own" and loses the blonde? (Austin dancing on top of a Prius - that would be bonus)

Songs from Rock of Ages the Musical:

* "We Built This City" - Starship
* "Nothin' but a Good Time" - Poison
* "Keep on Loving You" - REO Speedwagon
* "Just Like Paradise" - David Lee Roth
* "I Wanna Rock" - Twisted Sister
* "Too Much Time on My Hands" - Styx
* "Renegade" - Styx
* "I Hate Myself for Loving You" - Joan Jett & the Blackhearts
* "Oh Sherrie" - Steve Perry
* "Waiting for a Girl Like You" - Foreigner
* "Shadows of the Night" - Pat Benatar
* "Don't Stop Believing" - Journey
* "Heaven" - Warrant
* "The Search is Over" - Survivor
* "We're Not Gonna Take It" - Twisted Sister
* "High Enough" - Damn Yankees
* "The Final Countdown" - Europe
* "I Want to Know What Love Is" - Foreigner
* "Harden My Heart" - Quarterflash
* "Here I Go Again" - Whitesnake
* "To Be With You" - Mr. Big
* "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" - Poison
* "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" - Pat Benatar
* "Can't Fight This Feeling" - REO Speedwagon
* "Wanted Dead or Alive" - Bon Jovi
* "Cum on Feel the Noize" - Slade/Quiet Riot
* "Any Way You Want It" - Journey
* "Heat of the Moment" - Asia
* "Sister Christian" - Night Ranger
* "More Than Words" - Extreme

Mullet: Business in the front and party in the back. Yeah that sums up a lot.

And honey - that sentence was just too much of a tease not too.

Mullets! lol. That one picture looks like one from a church pictorial directory, Special. LOLLL! That's classic hair. But hey, I like that second picture. Who is that, is that a-ha? They look familiar, but I'm not sure.

Oh, that was some great music you mentioned. I probably won't be able to say much at lunchtime today either because I just have to find my Dramamine Non-Drowsy formula. That darn ol' Target anyway. These stores have all been cutting back on all the SKU's they carry, at least Wally World & Target are. And it's killin me. Neither one carries my Blue Bunny yogurt anymore so I have to pay the reaming price at the ol' Price Chopper or Hen House. grr.

Fantastic post! Loved the 80's, loved them. Music was great. That hair. lol.

Sorry about the wanderings & musiings & rants last night, guys. That was the alter ego, Suburban Girl. Well, I still meant most of it, I'm pretty sure. It's like a hangover must feel like. I'm all kinda fuzzy right now, lol. Doesn't mean I had to go on & on about it, tho.

We'll see, traveling showmance. If it happens, it happens, if not, it doesn't.

It did dawn on me this morning during the shower musings, that we've not seen that big Egypt trip yet. Remember that? Man, that thing was all over the web, stirring up and we still haven't seen a drip of that. And last summer, someone came on here & threw out the Martha's Vineyard rumors, like it was a sure thing. What happened with that?

So, I'll take the ol' Morton cannister & throw back a few pellets. Man, I'm running late. Gotta take the cookies & run.
'Morning, London! Did go on last night, huh?
Paying for it this morning. I don't even remember the Ipod radio coming on. It was 5 or so when I stirred and I missed my 4:45 walk!! dangit. That's what I get.

Don't have time to re-edit this, so guess it's mistakes & all. Hopefully it's not too bad.

Everyone have just a top drawer kind of day.

You wonder if Jen Aniston would play another rocker chick girlfriend like she did in Rock Star with Mark Wahlberg

Oh I think Jake would be so into the mullet wig they would put him in. He's comfortable in spandex, so they could dip the glam hairband if they wanted.

But can you imagine full blown mullet, the black concert-t, acid washed jeans, throw a Levis jacket on him and put him in the parking lot outside the Vet with big boombox.

Austin - he's would be a Member Only kind of guy.

I never liked all those hair bands. And even though Bon Jovie had hair, -
I don't put them in the same category, so Wanted would hands down be my choice. Yes it's still trashy, but it transcends the genre imo.

Thanks Humor, loved that bit and will be sending it to all my friends.

Sneak Peak of Rock of Ages - Broadway

Ad for Rock of Ages: Musical"

Ok I am going to admit this - I met Journey. Best friend's dad was the guy who signed the checks so we got to meet them, and had front row seats.

It was after Steve Perry left, so there were notices backstage you were not allow to say the name Steve Perry anywhere backstage or you would be asked to leave. I just wanted to meet Neal Schon who is an incredible guitar player. And who's about 5'3" if he's that.

I wasn't into the hairbands as much as my other friends. was definitely more alternative/new wave/punk, but hairbands slipped in now and then how could they not. Now it is all fun looking back.

Well Dest, Austin did have that Vanilla Ice like mullet hybrid in Full Count/Lenexa 5 miles and we know he can sing Yankee Doodle Dandy at least.

Jake did get a little of his rock out in Bubbleboy and a little bit in Proof. And they have to have Rock Band at home and do Rock Band 80's.

Very sad news about David Carradine.

prairiegirl said...

I haven't seen anything yet today and have missed news regarding David Carradine.

I had to get on here & say that I got in hot water with some of the guys over these cookies! man!
I had them up on my shelf in my cube and T, the warehouse day shift lead was up here so I offered him some and he said sure. Then K, one of the day whse supers had to snoop over and asked who they were for & I said "Have some - they're for J" and oh brother, there it went and I had to explain what he did to deserve cookies. I said that they could be shared because they all did nice things but J just really went above & beyond.

LOL, how embarrassing.

That is cool you got to meet Journey, Special. I saw them aaaaages ago at Kemper Arena. Bryan Adams opened up for his Fits Ya Good tour, back when he was first starting out. Steve Perry will always be the voice of Journey. "Where were you.... Where were you..." Journey Live - what a cool album!!

flicker of a lighter for Journey!!!

Okay, better get off!!

Hey, and I will not take responsibility for any Egypt wedding tour, lollll!!!

I think OTH should do a little hairband shout out if Jake does it.

Since Austin and Brian Austin Greene look so much alike, they could get the long blond wigs and be Nelson.

Nelson!! Nelson rocked. I still have their one & only cd.What on earth ever happened to them?

Well, stubbornness won out. I'm still w/o Dramamine. Price Chopper had my taco shells (boy, that is a really pink box, Special. I bought 2 just in case. My super says their shells are the best. Hmm. Obviously something I've been missing out on) but they wanted 4.99 or something for the Dramamine. So then I went to Walgreens. 5.69!! for 8 little pills! holy cow, what in the heck. I will not give them the satisfaction. I will stop at Wally World on my way out. Right turn in, right turn out.

Spandau Ballet, oh, I was off a bit, wasn't I. Thanks, old romantic. They sang "True", didn't they? Haircut 100, remember that video? That cute kid swinging from a tree in his Tarzan suit?

It's the Final Countdown! What a song. So melodramatic. lol

Asia. They had some good songs. I'm getting to take a good look at this list. What memories, heavy sigh. David Lee Roth. How about a little Til Tuesday, with Aimiee Mann. Loved her hair.
Bananamara!! Don't put a dime in the jukebox, I don't wanna hear that song no more!! from that Valley Girl movie. I loved that song.

Well, lunch is over. I'm getting nervous & a little stressed. If someone sees me online too much tonight, tell me to shut up & get the heck off!! Can't be dinkin' around tonight, got serious stuff to do.

Everyone have a very good afternoon.

And why is Austin listed on the 1st one but not the new one? But he has that Italy trip written on it? Also I noticed when I was catching up people here were saying about things he wrote but whatever it was it didn't sound they were talking about his Italy trip story. Did I miss something or did he write something and it was deleted, or was it blogged somewhere else?

Who's to say he's the only one in NYC. Everyone jumps to the conclusions he is with Reese or he is out looking for guys.

There is a third option - Austin is there in NYC too, they don't have to be joined at the hip to be there together.

And if he and Reese show up together in NYC - that pretty much tells me Austin there in the city too.

The guy who got the comment about the shirt - runs a comic book store, so it could have been he was wearing a cool shirt from the store. Hey if I see cool Sox shirt I tell comment to people.

Jake showing up at the PR office may have something to do with that.

Of course he is wandeitng around alone, she's busy.

If Reeke is in NY why should Austin tag along? So he can wander around by himself while Jake does his own thing and spends time with the General? And with Austin all signed up for OTH, it's not likely he'd have any business of his own to take care of. I would hope that Austin is more independent than that.

I think tha Jake (and maybe Reese's) pr have now discovered twitting (yawn!) so we can expect alot of twitts from this couple of twats for quite some time.

Just wanted to comment, that over on WFT2 some people are saying that the latest Forbes celeb 100 shows how Reese has benefited from Reeking.

Just to disagree, here are the stats.

Year on Year performance for Reese and her (supposed) cometitiors;

Angelina jolie 2008 #3, 2009 #1;
Jennifer Aniston, 2008 #17, 2009 #8;
Reese, 2008 #60, 2009 #71.

Anyone see the curse of Gyllenspoon at work here?
I always imagine that when this whole charade was suggested to Jake and Reese, their handlers told them that they would be as popular as Jolie and Pitt, instead they're hardly giving Heidi and Spencer serious competition. Have to agree with ted that they and their advisors are seriously delusional.

If you need further evidence, here's a graphI prepared earlier:

If jake hadn't acted such a prat over the past 18 months you could actually feel sorry for him, however, following all his reeking you do have to say he's got what he desreves.

:) said...

"Just wanted to comment, that over on WFT2 some people are saying that the latest Forbes celeb 100 shows how Reese has benefited from Reeking."

Reese HAS benefited from Reeking - this Forbes ranks would be much worse without Reeke:

Web Rank 24
Press Rank 52
TV/Radio Rank 56

Haha said...

Meg where's the blue line for Jake?! Or maybe my monitor isn't low enough?!

Meg said...

Okay, the Forbes ranking would be much worse without the Reeking, however, you would have to ask yourself, if you were a multi-millionaire actress / business woman, would you put up with having to fake a relationship with a needy, whinny, can't keep his dick in his pants, gay guy (no disrespect to Jake intended), if you thought that you were not going to be in the top 20 on the Forbes list, let alone the top 10.

I mean, girlfriend, you've got to have some pride. An to have the old dumped trout Jennifer A beats you hand's down when all she had to do was skank around with John M for a few months.

As far as I see it, they've (J&R) both been sold a dud by their pr people, or maybe because they are just so delusional they can't see what a shambles they've both got themselves catch up in.

Meg, once again I have to say, thank you! And while you may be right too Smiley, you gotta wonder, here's a year in which she had two movies that did well, after a long drought, and yet she still fell.

Not to mention what it did to Jake. If Reese fell, Jake sunk. He's in an underground tornado shelter, a wine cellar, a hole deeper than Atticus could ever dig.

BO said...

Reese had one bad movie that made a moderate profit (4C) and she did a voice over for a good and BO successful ANIMATED movie (there are 15 actresses who did the same in different languages).

lane said...

So Meg, I can send you my checkbook to figure it out?

Those graphs are always solid gold! Thanks for continuing to do them, Meg; they're definitely appreciated. What can one say, the proof is always in those pudding-flavored numbers.

This is the best Reese can do at the moment and it's a huge success for a dull and overrated actress like her.
She should be grateful for a needy, whinny, gay Jake and all the publicity she's creating by reeking.

Meg said...

Sad though it is, I remain on the look-out for statistical proof that Reeke ain't working (and it isn't as far as I can make out), anything juicy I'll share with you of course.

And sorry lane, if you spoke to my bank manager who'd know that I'm rubbish when it comes to personal finance.

Agreed, that comment could have been worded better. If this is the best she can do, with all the 'help' Jake is providing her, its not that impressive is it.

prairiegirl said...

Well, is that the same Forbes celebrity list that I mentioned last night? It was the top 100 most powerful celebrities in Hollywood and Reese came in 71 out of 100. The Jonas Bros even came out ahead of her. That's the one that was all over the web yesterday because Angelina Jolie edged out Oprah, a feat I have to admire. That Oprah has always had it going on, although she seems to be having a rough week this week. Forbes explained how they polled these 100 celebs and it had to do with income and also how they did with all the media: TV, radio, magazines, etc. Reese - 71. How is that so good, I want to know?

And I agree, Destiny. Twitter's been around now a few months as far as being the "latest, greatest & hottest". We've had absolutely no mention from anyone about any Twitter sightings.

Now, all of a sudden, someone is doing nothing but feeding us all kinds of links on Jake & Reese sightings via Twitter Dee Twitter Dum. Considering how time-taking it is to do a single link, it wouldn't surprise me at all if some of it is being done to stir things up. Not all of it, I said some of it.
Twittering is not impressing me right now and I am not going to be clicking left & right to read one single little sentence that someone apparently is inputting into their phone right that very second because they have nothing else to do?

Okay, I had to get on here for a second, but I have 25 min. to get going & run to the bank. Everything is running to the last minute around here, lol.

Well EXCUSE ME. I've done a few if not all of the Twitter links here. First of all I can do the a href <<>>/""= link shit in my sleep, second, it took me awhile to catch on that Twitter is fun and an easy way to relay info, however lofty it might be. Better something that might lead to something more than nothing at all, that's how I feel. Third, because no one else was/is doing them before me you think its now being done to stir things up? So instead of any tiny bit of thanks I get bullshit and conspiracy theories. And you know what PG you KNOW who I am. FINE, NO MORE TWITTERS FROM ME HERE. LET SOMEONE ELSE DO IT.

prairiegirl said...

Man oh man. I figured that comment would get the hairs up on someone's back, but for cryin' out loud, there's no need to be so stinkin' sensitive.

Hey, it's no water off my back, DO IT YOURSELF. Judging by the language, I think I know exactly who it is. When you get hacked off, the vulgar language just spills out like it must really be part of your everyday language. I knew you were a sheep in wolf's clothing; thanks for proving it to me now. And you can knock off the PG from now on while you're at it.

Why are you wanting thanks?? Did someone ask for you to do it? I don't recall seeing any specific requests on here for you to please give some twitter links. You did it because you wanted to, which is all nice & good. Don't put any iota of blame on anyone else. You reveal yourself as well by always acting like you are "owed" something. Second giveaway. I was starting to get suspicious of you lately, anyway, and now I know. No loss.

I don't think anyone's going to keel over & die because twitter dee links are not being done.

Cleaning up your mouth & refraining from bolding might have gotten you a little more respect for such an angry comment.

Thanks Meg for the graph. Fans do follow the next best thing, and Pattison has seemed to be do that. While Reeke has not performed as predicted by the handlers, it looks worse for Reese than Jake. The last movie out for Jake was Rendition and that was almost 2 years ago and let's face it wasn't mainstream box office or successful. His numbers would tend to drop off. But like BO said she had a moderate success with 4C and a successful animated movie and has given her any bounce.

Okay, well, sorry to have put a dark spot on your all's nice conversation you had going but it appeared to be unavoidable and also probably inevitable at
