PoP Art , Icons

Losing Henry Gibson from Laugh-In and Mary Travers from Peter, Paul and Mary, sends thoughts back to 60's pop culture and who captured pop culture than Pittsburgh native Andy Warhol.

Early in Warhol's career he began to make paintings of iconic American products such as Campbell's Soup Cans from the Campbell Soup Company and Coca-Cola bottles, as well as paintings of celebrities such as Jackie Kennedy Onassis, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, Troy Donahue, Muhammad Ali and Elizabeth Taylor.

Jake has appeared on Interview magazine which was founded by Andy and with Jake in Pittsburgh it made me think of what he would with Jake.

With two icon roles, would Warhol have embraced the gay cowboy of BBM that was antithesis of the iconic Malboro man image that is the truest essence of pop culture?

What about Donnie Darko? From the mission of the Foundation for the Visual Arts that bears his name, founded upon his death in 1987, you think he would. "To foster innovative artistic expression and the creative process" and is "focused primarily on supporting work of a challenging and often experimental nature." It kind of describes what Richard Kelly was trying to do.

Think that Warhol would have been interesting not only Jake's roles but looking at some of the early photo shoots of Jake, Jake as well, young man boy with unconventional beauty, and then later as to see where his fame goes.

Here's a video of the Warhol museum from few years ago. Hopefully Jake gets a chance to visit.

My favorite, the mylar floating pillows. Dynamic, ever changing, and never the same. And very cool if you lay on the floor and watch the patterns.

I just love these, especially the Jack Twist ones. :) I'm sure Warhol would have embraced BBM, and it's a nice thought.

So sad about Mary Travers and Henry Gibson. :'(

i know it's way too early to get excited, but wouldn't it be freaking awesome if reese got the hots for paul?? maybe she already has and that's what all the glum looks have been about lately.

of course, i don't want jake to get his heart broke, and i only say this assuming his heart isn't involved. if it actually is, then never mind.

I hope she hooks up with this guy so bad. Is he divorced or what? If he could do more for her than Jake does you know she will go for it. This warms my heart. Jake would be FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

Paul is married and has a kid. This is his #3 movie with the chin.

I'm sure Jake would be happy to lose the beard.

Paul is married and has a child, he and Reese have been friends since they made Overnight delivery 10 years ago. According to some tweets, filming has wrapped in Philly and someone tweeted that she was flying with her this morning. I assume the person was from Philly.

Friends?! If I remember correctly, Reese couldn't recall Paul's name or name of any other actors working with her on MvaA voice over.

Chris has two Jacobs!

Chris Fischer and Jacob Ferreira formed Beetlebung Farm, LLC in the spring of 2008. Chris and Jake are life-long friends whose shared vision, work-ethic and desire to make a positive impact in their local community inspired them to create their sustainable agricultural business.

The business partnership with Chris and Jake Ferreira for the farm has been for a while, since Chris moved back to MV.

Jake would be FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

The reason you think this is because you think she's forcing him to do this. Jake has free will and is using it. If not the Chin it will be another beard.

As many times as I have been to Pittsburgh, I've never visited the Warhol museum. Shame on me. Only 1 relative still living in town now, but next time I am there I will have to check it out.

I think we influenced Reese's PR again. There has been a lot of talk lately about her having no friends and voila, she has an evening with friends.

I really enjoy The Warhol, M, and try to go everytime I go to Pittsburgh.

They do the life of his work, but they also create special collections and there is one floor devoted just to Andy's personal collection from his private apartment he kept uptown in NYC. What he collected reminded me of what little old ladies would. Tchotkes, tons of tchotkes.

Sadly it seems that Jake's all-American good looks were too much for Roger Federer because he lost the match Jakey G attended yesterday to Argentina’s Juan Martin Del Potro. Hopefully Jake offered Roger a shoulder to cry on.
