Act Dance Give

Jake doing the Macarena at the Mellon Arena made a memory for a lot of extras from the Pittsburgh area on the set of Love & Other Drugs, but that wasn't all that people of Pittsburgh got from that day of shooting.

I don't think this is right
Just go with it.

The Real Pharma may be making the money but the Movie Pharma is giving it away.

LaOD, trying to recruit extras for scenes at Pfizer convention scene at the Mellon Arena found a way to do that and to give back to the Pittsburgh. The production donated money to the Pittsburgh area film office along with the Humane Society, Habitat for Humanity, Big Brothers/Big Sisters and the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council, among other groups for each extra that was a volunteer representing one of the designated charities.

The filmmakers made a $50 donation for each extra for the days work. For HFH Greater Pittsburgh that was $550. Sometimes that doesn't sound like a lot but it is amazing how much can be done with it. Every little bit helps for organizations these and LaOD is doing their part during their stay in Pittsburgh.

Thanks Special, and thanks for the Madonna. It's a gloomy day in NY so I could use some holiday spirit.

You all have a great day today and Destiny enjoy your birthday.

I just wanted to let you all know that Dad passed away this morning. He went that quickly. But it happened in the best possible way that it could have and we are all just very thankful. He didn't suffer and he just went to sleep and never woke up.

Hospice has been absolutely wonderful. I have my earliest childhood best friend with me right now (she's accompanying me to my mammogram which I am keeping the appointment) and then we are returning to the house. It's been wonderful with visitors already and phone calls.

Thanks to all here who sent such warm well wishes and have kept us in your thoughts and/or prayers. It has meant the world to me and I told my family. This is such a surreal thing to go through and I probably won't hardly remember this day much, but anyway there you go.

I thought of you all, though, and just wanted to let you know.

Special, have a great time when your dad gets in and everyone have a good day today.

All my love to you all,
pg

Happy Birthday Destiny!

PG... i'm sorry about your dad. i wish you the best with his care and final days. i'm Dad-sitting this week. my mom is on vakay to Cape Cod and i'm staying with him a lot. they have 9 dogs and 12 cats and 2 geese adn i'm about to keel over from busyness.

i thought that little blurb from the lawyer/celeb gossip site was interesting. that person saying JBG was gayer than an sfo ikea on SB Sunday. hahaha. kinda cute. i know some folks who had lunch with him once (charity thing) and their impression was GAY as well.

i guess it's too much to hope that the lack of Reeke lately means anything other than they are too busy doing their real jobs to wow us with their awesome fakemance, but i still just feel better not having to look at it. it gives me hope that maybe he's starting to realize his life is passing him by and he's getting nothing good out of this arrangement.

you know, he never used to be about the money, etc. he always made the quirky, odd movies that weren't gonna make a ton of money, but were stories he wanted to tell, characters he wanted to play, folks he wanted to work with, etc. i wonder what changed. i know POP has been in the making for a long time, but i wonder if he decided to go this route because he knew his parents were broke?

gotta go get ready for MY real job. ick. hugs. s!

And Prairie Girl,

You have my heartfelt sympathy on the passing of your Dad. Wishing you and your family peace and fond rememberance.

((((PG)))). I'm so sorry about your dad.

Thanks for the birthday wishes PG and Sienna.

I'm glad they've dialed down the reeking too Sienna. I don't know if that is because they realized how much harm they were doing with it, particularly the pap photos from places you'd never get them, or if Jake has just been so moody about them they decided no pictures for now. I'm sure the minute they're both in LA we'll get bombarded with coffee runs.

Thanks Seaweed.

Dear Ted:
You have a very clever, charming way about you. I'm new to your articles, so you may have addressed this: I read what you wrote other day about Austin Nichols and Sofia Bush. You made a lot of references to Jake Gyllenhaal throughout the article. Certain words and phrases made it seem like there is something going on between J.G and A.N. Have they ever been in a Blind Vice, possibly together?
—DDSunshine

Dear New and Virginal:
Whatever about my wording made you suspicious? Jake has not only been a B.V., he's a superstar, darling!

Dear Ted:
Is Crotch Uh-Lastic Derek Hough?
—DDSunshine

Dear Crotch Offender:
No! Crotch is famous for a reason. Now apologize to Toothy Jr.

Awful Truth

Dear Ted:
Here's a list of the 50 highest-grossing films worldwide, before inflation (with references; don't hate). Has Toothy Tile appeared in one of these films?

Dear Sneak Attack:
You forgot to add the link so I don't have to answer! (He wasn't in ET, I'll say that much.)

Jackie posted an excerpt and link to an interesting article and interview with Howard Bragman. He's the publicist Special featured in a Spotlight who helps gay people come out.

Among other things, he says he thinks the time is right for an A-list star to come out.

Here's the link

This quote really struck me because it sounds like what we're seeing with Jake.

"It kills your soul,” says one young, gay actor in L.A., who requested anonymity. “It’s an insane job [to stay in the closet]. I see the destruction of my close friends. It keeps them closed-hearted. But they get so wrapped up in their success, and they think it’ll make everything better. Then they get [that success], and they become very angry.”

Jake does have anger management issues, that much is certain.

20 Best Signs at the National Equality March

Happy Birthday Destiny.

Again, so sorry for your loss PG. Remember the happy times.

Jake is a super star. That confirms Toothy for sure, not that I ever doubted it. What other blind vice even comes close to Toothy.

Sorry for the brevity but I am at work.

The signs from the National Equality March are wonderful. I liked "We Hold These Truths to Be Really Frickin' Obvious."

(((PG))) my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Out all day, I just got in and saw you message.

There is peace in knowing that he passed in the best possible way, that he had his family with him, and that you all had time with him too. It doesn't take away any of the sorrow but it bring a comfort in it's own way.

The rest of the family and our churches will keep you all in our prayers.

Destiny - I had read that article from Bragman sometime in the last week or so. Good article. It is creating some great discussion out on the net.

One thing that is sad is that gay casting agents don't want to cast out gay actors. It is indicative of the problem in HW. That it seems like even with those out and behind the scenes who could help make a difference and make it more supportive and encouraging for actors to come out don't want to risk it.

Hope that Ross being named to head Disney may be something to tip to scale and and change some attitudes.

SO sorry PG. I sure am thinking about you.

Happy Birthday Destiny. Many more.

Sure Toothy is a superstar but not so sure about Jake anymore.

destiny said...

Thanks M, Oh Ted and Tom.

One other interesting thing about that article is how all the studio heads refused to return phone calls the reporter made. Talk about heads in the sand.

"And the process would be even more complicated if said superstar also had a high-profile heterosexual cover relationship, as it's safe to assume at least a few do."

I wonder who Howard may be thinking of here.

destiny said...

Thanks Clarity and :).

Tom, I think Howard is thinking of half of Hollywood with that remark. What I'd love to know is what star came to him last year and then decided not to come out. I doubt it was Jake with PoP on the horizon.

I would guess that if someone is going to come out it would be between movies, or with a movie coming out where the people involved wouldn't care and blacklist you for doing it before their movie, like a a small independent film.

I also wonder who the musician is who is planning to come out next year. Hopefully we find out and it isn't another case of cold feet.

More complicated, but not impossible? I love optimists :)
