For the Birds

"But if you don't try to do it then you'll regret it for the rest of the time because that's what this movie is for. It's an opportunity to do crazy sh*t that you wouldn't normally be able to do. Like there's a whole scene with ostriches in the movie.
Yeah, you and me ostrich. Bring it on.

They’re all real ostriches, highly paid, and we were all briefed on them for weeks before like “They’re these massive destructive creatures that can tear your heart out with their claws.” (laughs)

I swear to God I never thought of an ostrich this way! And I was shaking in my boots when they finally brought them out and they’re (does an ostrich impression) and I walked up to it and one of my stuntmen was in the ring with them, and finally, I was like, “When am I going to be in a f*cking cage with ostriches again in my life? I gotta get in here!” So I got in there and they were the sweetest things

I have a thing with birds, I understand them, I know them, the birds are my people.

I wear their colors.

Throw down their signs.

I've a way with the ostrich.

The Big Bird.

The owl.

And the Goose.

I have tasted the Wild Turkey.

Thud.

That ostrich interview was funny. He sounds so goofy in it, like old Jake. Sometimes his sentences are strange though and I don't get where he's going. But oh well.

Hmmmm. Funny. Mention the PR department and alot of that gibberish disappears. Maybe hit just a little too close to home.

Okay, well, had to pop in for a moment, may be back. I am at the local library looking up flights from Laguardia Airport to Jackson Hole WY. lol. Holy cow, they are expensive. Good thing it's Jack Twist paying for this and not me. He's got money to burn, no problem there.

m, I had 34a & 34b up last night but they weren't up but 15 min. probably. I had a logistical problem as I had Jack flying out of Syracuse International from Columbia U., which is in NYC. And I guess Syracuse is 6 hr away from there. My bad.

So I am doing a little surgery right now.

That third turkey in the Menage au Gobbler was from our Church Fair.

We have a guy who makes Wild Turkey cookies for our bake table. And yes the sign for them is a And has for the past three years. What does he used for a sign? A print out of the Austin Nichols Wild Turkey bottle.

Austin Nichols: One Tree Hill is ‘Better Than Any Season Before’ said...

Austin Nichols is proud to be a One Tree Hill cast member!

The 29-year-old actor, who’s dating his co-star Sophia Bush, recently sat down with Examiner.com to talk what’s next for the show, his newest interest and finally being a One Tree Hill regular…

On being a recurring character on the show: “It’s great. It’s exciting. It’s different from being a guest. You feel more responsible for the show as a whole, for the final in product, as a regular. But it’s been fun. As far as I can tell, this season there has been really great material and better than any season before it so it’s been really cool.”

On what he hopes happens on the show with Sophia: “When Mark (Schwahn, the show’s creator) asked me to come back as a series regular I told him I only would if we could make a really powerful love story for Brooke and Julian. I wanted him to give them the greatest love story. I mentioned The Notebook to him. I wanted him to give them that kind of love and story, a fountainhead love.

“And in The Notebook even when they fight, it’s how it is now for Brooke and Julian, it’s fun to watch them fight. It’s sexy. It’s inspiring.”

On what he likes to do off-screen: “I’ve really been interested in architecture lately. I really want to buy a house and fix it up. There’s this incredible artist out there that inspires me, Donald Judd. All of his work is in Marfa, TX. It’s a really small town that has kept his work and the buildings that he owned all around it. The town now is really influenced by his style and it’s great.”

I have tasted the Wild Turkey.

I love this post, it has to be one of my favorites.

The story about the ostriches really cracks me up. I stopped at an ostrich farm once in Arizona, and boy, when you see a whole flock of them they are kind of scary, and very primitive looking. Also fun to watch, I think, but I have a really good friend who is terrified of them.

Great post. Jake's plaid lumberjack shirts have birds on them btw, on the lower sides. Seagulls I think. (Austin's power animal.)

Special K said...

Yup Jake's plaid shirts do have bird on them. He does love birds.

He also has a Disco Duck t-shirt, which I think was a special gift, just like that dove shirt he's has. ; )

Jakey G should have charmed
the ostrich by doing the "Dance of the Hours" from Fantasia. You know he knows that shit

I just saw the correlation on those first two pictures. LOL!

And that little toy turkey is adorable! Where did that one come from, Special? Is that from a wildlife store or something?

Disco Duck? Jake's too young to know who Disco Duck was, lol. I loved that song. What's that guy's name? He hosts Retro Sunday nights on WGN. He's a radio dj, too. His name escapes me.

When I was googling LaGuardia Airport this afternoon, guess who was on like the second page on Google images? Austin!! There was Austin in his striped shirt when he was there with Sophia.

So now I'm off to go try my hand at getting 34a & 34b back up. Got my changes made to LaGuardia instead of Syracuse International. lol. Man, what a deal.

PG - That is a Wild Turkey Cookie that someone made for our church bake sale. This guy has made them for the past three years.

The combination of that cute turkey cookie right next to wet T-shirt Austin is lethal!

Donny Osmond still alive in Dancing With the Stars! woohoo! My old, old childhood celebrity crush. I even used to have one of his purple crushed velvet hats. Hey, he's still a darn good looking man with a great looking behind. And he snogged Bruno right there on national television! Go Donny!

lol

LOL, comment on towleroad about the ostrich story:

Well fortunately, all his time spent with Reese has prepared him to face destructive creatures who can tear your heart out with their claw.

Jake on Sesame Street's Rainbow Episode.

Again all things connect.

Special K said...

Watching Nightline, and they are highlighting Sesame Street's 40th. They were there when Maggie was filming her spot for the show.

Not only does she do the Word on the Street for an episode, but does does a headstand to show off her "piggies".

The ostrich story is cute. And I love that picture of our Goose. Jake has a way of getting tangled up in his words during interviews, but it was refreshing to see the swear words dropped in there. Made him seem like the old Jake we know and love. I do hope we see him on some talk shows soon for Brothers promo.

IA. However that interview was done November 2008, pre-kick, pre-spit, pre-Buffalo Club, pre-anger outside London restaurant....

British Enquirer has an article about Reese finally accepting Jake's marriage proposal and that they are planning a small private wedding before the end of the year with just family and close friends.

No wonder the trolls have been going ballistic.

prairiegirl said...

I would think they would've been on their own sites throwing a party then. Why the need to come over here and just hate on commenters? Unless they themselves envision their own self marrying Jake or something like that.

Let's see. That must be about the 5th or so story of them getting married over the span of 3 years? Last year Star had Reese visiting at some fancy hotel discussing plans. We had them supposedly getting married on MV. We had them over in Egypt. I wonder when this one was supposed to have taken place? At the yogurt stand?

lol. Too funny. Who spun that yarn. Talk about a dearth of material. Maybe another reason for the vile attack. Dearth of material lately.

And also kind of sad to know that that interview wasn't recent. Good grief, old material. Well, it was still interesting anyway. Too bad it wasn't current. So has Reese put the clamp on his tongue, too? The guy isn't allowed to talk at all? Wouldn't you think some interviews would be surfacing by now in the magazines? Maybe they just haven't come out yet. But Brothers is coming up in several more weeks in the theatres.

Hey you guys, Spooky has this clip that Vesprlynd managed to find. It's of Austin in a movie short. I didn't get to watch the whole thing because I had to go walk but what I saw was pretty funny and intriguing. Almost seemed campy. It was highlights. Austin having a little F-bomb moment. A little spit of anger after bedding some girl. Awesome.

Good grief, old material.

No. It's new material. The interview was done Nov 2008 but the publishing of it was held off until POP started its promo push - which is now. The point I was making was about the mood of Jake in the interview - m said it was nice that it seemed like the old Jake; however we have to remember that this interview was done before all that acting-out started.

By now, you've probably already watched the first teaser trailer and maybe you've read the recent press conference with Mechner and producer Jerry Bruckheimer. Almost exactly a year ago, ComingSoon.net flew to England's historic Pinewood Studios, where we spent two days being shown some of the amazing sets, costumes and weapons used in the production, as well as talking to Bruckheimer and all of the principal cast about their roles and what went into making the movie.
