The Real Slim Shady

As Austin's look has evolved over time, whether his hair is brown, blonde, short, long or curly, or the accessories change from suspender/braces, vests, blazers, and hats, one thing remains the same, the skinny tie.

A popular look in the 60's and 80's, Austin worked it in the 00's. For Austin it seems like it came from his love of movies:

From James Mason and Peter O'Toole in Lord Jim

to Sidney Poitier In the Heat of the Night

and Marcello Mastroianni in 8 1/2

Speaking of 8 1/2, what movie is the musical adaptation of it? Nine.

The story is based on Fratti's adaptation of Federico Fellini's autobiographical film 8½. It focuses on film director Guido Contini, savoring his most recent (and greatest) success but facing his fortieth birthday and a midlife crisis blocking his creative impulses and entangling him in a web of romantic difficulties in early-1960s Venice.

All things connect.

If Austin starts wearing a skinny tie with piano keys, there will be an intervention.

OTH Update: OTH is currently filming Episode 17 for Season 7, so there are only 7 episodes to go. There is no word yet about a season 8, although there have been those saying there could be a season 8 and 9. Do you see Austin stay on for another season or even two more? And if so, what would want to see happen for Julian?

There is a full body shot of Jake at the med center but it was taken when he was leaving the center, not entering.

Well, at least Ted is admitting he has no idea what goes on with Austin. And sounds like he's not even sure if Sophia is much of a beard. If they really were in LA at the same time, you'd think they'd have done at least one photo opp if they really want people to think they are a couple.

Maybe things will change, but based on the episodes of OTH aired so far I'd be just as happy to see the show end after this year. I feel like he had more airtime last season, and it was certainly far more interesting. Brooke may as well be coming home to a puppy.

So what would he be hiding--Baby Tile? I do not for a minute believe Jake would be seen out in public like that, what about other people going to the Medical Center, let alone the paps. And what, he went in with Baby Tile but came out without him or her?

I'm all for a good mystery, but I don't see one here.

Maybe Jake had something in his right hand that he didn't want to have photographed (lol a stool sample!) or his hand had something on it, a drawing, nail polish....

It also seems he arrived to the medical building in a silver car but left in a black one.

Same car. It was darker because it was reflecting the sky; it was early evening/late afternoon when he left.

Well, I guess sparkly pink nail polish would be a problem. :-D

If Ted is out of the loop, then why did he twitter DH a question about Austin & Sophia.

His words..
http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/the_awful_truth/b161016_danneel_harris_guns_jensen.html

"Oh, by the way, Danneel: What's up with Sophia and Austin Nichols? Are they the next duo in this happy lineup of love-silly TV stars to tie the knot?"

If your going by Ted's answer today vs the article above, it would seem to be a big contradiction.

The building that Jake entered is not only a medical building, but it is also a dentist office and one many stars enter to get their teeth all white, there is also a dematologist there as well.

Ted sure is all over the place this week.

So what are dentistry and dermatology then? Hobbies?

PG I dont think Ted ever mentioned what GG thought about TTs former beard. Not that I remember.

Reading todays letter kind of gives the impression that Austin didnt think too highly of reese. At least that is what the person who wrote the letter thinks and Ted doesnt deny it.

The trail in California is going to start getting a lot of press. This is really a big deal. Of course whatever happens the decision will windup being made by the US Supreme Court. My fear at this point it that the vote would stand 5 to 4 but it will be quite sometime before the case even makes it to the Supreme court so one retirement between now and then could sway the vote the other way.

It would be interesting to hear Destinys opinion on which way each judge on the Supreme Court would lean today.

For as much as people say they are there you would think so.

It's going to be interesting not who goes to what parties this week, but is seen going to the parties.

Still wonder if Jake would go to the Art of Elysium party on this Sat. since he has gone to them in past.

The one thing about taking the case to federal court that is worrisome to me, is that if they rule on a federal level with a definition of marriage that is between a man and a woman only, that it will negate state legislation for those states that have same sex marriages.

NO, but Austin and Sophia Will be There.

I'm worried about the Supreme Court too Tom. I just don't see them winning at that level. The conservatives on the court all love to spout about state rights and individual freedom, but only individual freedom if you're a straight white man and/or you're talking about the right to do what you want with your property. No libertarians. They key will be Kennedy, and he did vote the right way on the big Colorado case that tried to take away political rights, and on the sodomy case. But don't see him doing that for gay marriage.

Just watched Adam on Fuse. Sigh, I love that man. I feel so much pride watching him. Charming, smart, seemingly honest.

Talking at the very end about the good things, the fame and how bored he was before all this happened, the wanting to make some money, and the notoriety and controversies, he said that if there are storms surrounding the journey, so be it.

I think his name has been on the invite lists in the past but I don't think he's ever gone.

Gotta love d-listed. He makes a comment about Bradley Cooper and the gay rumors, and starts it this way "B. Coop, who is currently starring in Reese & Jakey: The Sequel with Squinty Zelleger"

I love Austin's style of dress. Youthful, but sophisticated and hip. He pulls it off well.

The more parties these guys go to, the more gossip will flow. As I said the other day, alcohol loosens lips and inhibitions. People observe body language and draw more truthful conclusions than PR approved words convey. Behavior on the red carpet is for the audience, but among their peers they drop the act. Let's hope Ted is at some of these coming events as well.

As for OTH, I never watched it before Austin was on and would not watch it but for him. And Brulian is tiresome, so as much as I'd seeing Austin, I'd rather it was on a better show.

The good judge said...

Perhaps. However, Justice John Paul Stevens has a long history of being liberal; he is staunchly against prejudice of any kind and has supported women's, privacy and gay rights. The problem is he may retire or die (he's 89) before a same sex case gets to the Supreme Court. Rumor has it that he will retire very soon and that he intentionally planned his retirement when a Democrat is in office so that a liberal replacement can be chosen.

Justice Stevens’ protection of privacy rights testifies to his distinctly civil libertarian approach to many social issues. For example, he filed a pithy dissent in Bowers v. Hardwick, 478, U.S. 186, the case upholding a Georgia sodomy law which incorrectly and offensively criminalized sexual relations between consenting homosexual adults. It is “a liberty case for me,” Stevens said in conference, because “only prejudice supports the distinction” in law between same-sex and opposite-sex couples. He wrote presciently that “from the standpoint of the individual, the homosexual and heterosexual have the same interest in deciding how he will live his own life.” This position was eventually adopted by the Supreme Court in the Lawrence v. Texas, 539 U.S. 558, which invalidated homosexual sodomy laws nationwide.

OTTAWA — Actor Jake Gyllenhaal is coming to town in late March to film scenes for a big-budget science-fiction thriller at the Ottawa train station.

Stevens is on the liberal side of the aisle, as are Breyer and Ginsburg. That i r votes. Sotamayor probably will be, but too early to know how she will vote. That brings it to four. Problem is that Kennedy, who used to be in the middle, has moved more to the right in recent years.

Yes, I follow the Supreme Court the way some people follow baseball.

Analysis: Disney may be targeting families with its next Bruckheimer period action/fantasy potential franchise, but no single demographic anticipates this early Summer epic more than gay men. No matter which way he tiles his teeth, star Jake Gyllenhaal is to that demo what Robert Pattinson is to teenage girls - the unmatched pin-up fantasy and one of the leading causes of non-work/sport-related carpal tunnel syndrome.

Wedding Bells for Sophia and Austin?

This is why we've become such Twitter fans—it makes our fave celebs that we gossip about totally accessible!

After bitching how I don't think either of the Supernatural boys, Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, will walk down the aisle with their respective gal-pals any time soon, we got a lovely little tweet from Danneel Harris. Jensen's babe told us her wedding so is happening.

So I asked for a wedding invite, and also if we can expect her One Tree Hill bestie, Sophia Bush, to follow her lead and walk down the aisle with her costar and rumored BF Austin Nichols.

Here's Danneel's tweet back:

"Deal. S&A are a great team, always fun to be around. I'd be happy if they did."

Thanks mucho and how interesting! Except I hate to be the one to deliver you the Awful Truth, Ms. Harris, but I've heard that Austin may not fancy Sophia so hotly. But that's just nasty goss, usually the best kind.

After the douchiness of Chad Michael Murray, let's get the gorgeous Sophia a real guy for keeps, 'K? How about someone like Chris Pine? We think he's way more S.B.'s style.

Let us know your thoughts.

Oh, and btw, we're totally holding you to our deal, Danneey! I expect an invite and promise to make the hush-hush trek wherever you love birds host the ceremony...and not to kiss Jensen, at least not with tongue.

Can I get a plus two, though? Hopefully, then Taryn Ryder can bring Ryan Gosling, as she expects their first date to go really well (she thanks you in advance for making all this happen).

Kiss, kiss, girlfriend, superexcited, mean it!
