Let's Get Physical

Jake hit the road again, working it out before he heads down to Austin later this week for the premiere of Source Code.

Exercise does a body good. Check out these outtakes from last year's shoot for People.

No Thighmaster needed.

Now Austin has a different way of working out and we've got his number.

I just started a new exercise regiment. I'm exhausted.
March 6, 2011

Of course Austin would be a bowler. Where else can you can play with a blower, handle some big balls, suck a longneck, and advertise what a Big Foot you are while shooting off Big Lebowski quotes. "Smokey, this is not 'Nam. This is bowling. There are rules."

Wanna make a bet he tried to wear the shoes out so he could have shoes with stripes and double digits on his heels?

Any guesses on Austin's number?

Lord have mercy - these t-shirt pics are intense!

You think Austin doesn't react to things Jake does?

This exercise regime tweet of his last night is Austin's direct reaction to his man and his two jogging photo ops. LOL - you gotta love Austin's quirky sense of humor.

Gotta comment on something else.

I am in awe of Austin's precise, exquisite shoelace tying. Lookit those things. Evenly laced all the way down and the bow perfectly horizontal. My bows always end up going vertical; has always been one of those aggravating kind of things.

I think these are Zeman bowling shoes. Note how the left shoe is crimson on the left, navy on the right. The right shoe is crimson on the right, navy on the left.

And the shoelaces on the left shoe are black (or navy) and the laces on the right shoe are white.

These Zeman bowling shoes are made of full grain cow upper leather and the lining of pig split leather; roughly about $50 bowling shoes.

This is also the second time he's twit pic'd a pose like this. Remember the last time he did a photo like this, Soapy was at the other end and they were at some Green event.

^^ I sound like J Peterman.
LOLLLLLL!!! Remember that episode?

Another thing. Lookit the size of those finger holes in that ball. Gee whiz - they're huge!

What's good for the Tooth, is good for the Goose.

Austin cutting a fashion rug with his Zeman bowling shoes.

That's all right. We know this is Austin even though we don't see his face. I recognize the saggy caramel colored cords.
;D

So now we have both the Tooth workout wear runway critique and now the Goose workout wear runway report. LOL.

What number would be on those shoes - Lucky 13 or maybe 14.

Totally can see Austin getting into bowling just for the shirts. A vintage number with Irv stitch over the pocket and team name called 4 Guys 12 balls.

destiny said...

I like Austin's photo, and yeah, could see in vintage bowling shirts.

It's looking more and more like Jake is back in NYC. I'm seeing several twitter sightings of him.

Jakey globetrotting before the splashdown in Austin.

Charlie Sheen just got his pink slip.

"After careful consideration, Warner Bros. Television has terminated Charlie Sheen’s services on Two and a Half Men effective immediately," Warner Bros. says in a statement.

On Saturday, March 12, Moviefone will sit down with 'Source Code' stars Gyllenhaal and Monaghan during the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas, to answer your questions.

Ask Gyllenhaal what it was like to once again play a soldier in a movie or ask Monaghan about the stunts she had to perform. Ask them anything you'd like!

Looks like Jake is hanging out in Austin for couple of days. Who knows he may just make it a whole weekend. ; )

Geee, where do you think he'll stay? Where will camp Gyllenhall set up at?

Hey, love this song, Special. This thing is snappy!!!!

One of my favorite things on a film set. THE SECOND MEAL.

From a glossary of film terms:

Lunch: The meal served halfway through the shooting day,
no matter what time of the day or night it is served. Similarly,
the shooting day is always called the day - even if it is
actually night. Breakfast is usually made available out of a
catering truck or at a table at the start of the shooting day.
There is no such thing as dinner, only a second meal, usually
modest. There is a distinct pecking order to the lunch line:
director first if they want; stars; cast; crew; extras. Conservators
will probably be forgiven if we don't know our place,
but it's probably a good idea to eat with the crew.

Jake looks amazing on the cover of Men's Health. It's the eyes. The thumb on his chain is kind of like what he did at the New Yorker Festival interview.

The second picture of him leaning against his Triumph is a great shot as well.

Hope you don't mind PG, but I made a link for it.

LOL!!! Yeah, I got a little lazy there, didn't I?

I will always remember him fingering his necklace chain at the NYC Film Festival as he talked about love. Very nice moment and now a nice memory.

This is awesome. Jonny Quest is now on Boomerang at 6 p.m., followed by Scooby Doo, Where Are you? which is the original Scooby Doo mysteries.

Was lost without my Seinfeld on TBS during dinner hour but now the day has been saved! Jonny Quest and for a twin billing - ol' Scoob. Just as great!!

destiny said...

Wow, great pictures of Jake in Men's Health. It's about time he did a sexy photo shoot.

Special K said...

I can not think of Jonny Quest without thinking of this:
Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law: Bannon Custody case

So I wasn't the only one that though Benton and Race were more than a boss and a bodyguard for the boys.

Apologies for OMG'ers outside the US if you can't see it.

prairiegirl said...

LOL - I'll have to watch that. Race Bannon and Dr. Quest. Oh, I think there was something going on there, you bet.

That Race Bannon was quite the come hither kind of fellow.

And it may sound crazy but when I was a kid watching Jonny Quest, I had a fierce crush on Jonny, odd considering he's blond, but Jonny was an exception. Ahh yes.

And watching it again tonight, my thought again is that Bandit is THE cutest little cartoon dog, ever. Ever. The. Cutest.

Ever.

Not real great reviews for Jake in Source Code so far.

First Review said...

As for the leads? Well... Monaghan's sweet-natured cutie role is certainly necessary to get you as invested as Gyllenhaal in the fate of the passengers, but it doesn't give her a whole lot to do other than smile and occasionally scrunch up her brow in confusion. And good ole Jake, bless his heart, just doesn't have the over-the-top personality of a Willis or a Cage to really ever become a full-blown Everyman action hero, but in a role like this which is lighter on action and heavier on emoting, he's entirely adequate.

The review is from Ain't Cool News and you forgot to the last part of the review.

There's one other thing that makes Source Code slightly more than the sum of its parts, and that's its metaphysical underpinnings. Speaking as someone with a great love for pop culture bastardizations of quantum physics, this movie handles the whole 'multiple universes' concept as well as any big Hollywood production I've ever seen. Every time Gyllenhaal goes 'back' to those eight minutes, his choices create a new universe branching out from the old one. Since they all end in the train blowing up anyway (thus collapsing the wave, if you're following this and your eyes didn't glaze over a couple of sentences ago) Wright dismisses any of Gyllenhaal's concerns as nonsense. There's only one 'real' universe, and it's the one Wright is standing in. But as Gyllenhaal keeps pushing the envelope on what he can get done and get away with in those eight minutes, he becomes more and more certain that these universes aren't just shadows of probability, and are just as real as the world he's being sent from. The payoff on it all is really quite well done, even if it does raise some curious moral questions.

In short, Source Code is a fairly well-shot (one unfortunate CGI shot aside), reasonably clever movie with a couple of really good performances. Just so long as you aren't expecting to have your mind blown, it's worth checking out.

I notice this trend that some seem to purposely be seeking out negative reviews of Jake's movies and not only that, but take satisfaction in finding panning criticism.

the real m said...

Jake looks good on the fitness mag but he looks so much better when he smiles. He smiles so infrequently now. Not like the old days.

Since all the reviews surface sooner or later its hard not to get the good with the bad unless its a solid winner. I just hope SC makes it over the 50% mark on Rotten Tomatoes. Not sure what kind of influence that site has on movie goers, but I check it for everything. Even DVDs I plan to rent.

Austin's sense of style is great. Leave it to him to always wear something interesting. I love the mixed shoes and laces. I have a set of earings like that. Same design but 2 different colors. Always fun to see how people react to them.

prairiegirl said...

He does have an independent sense of style and you gotta love that.

I'm still jaw-dropped over how he managed to get the shoelace eyelet holes to come together on that right shoe. OUCH!!! My foot hurts just thinking about it. LOL!! How does one do that?

Man, my foot still hurts. I'm walking about 20-min. to 25 min. and I still limp. It's very frustrating.

Well, happy Fat Tuesday to everyone!! Eat up, eat up!

I love this about Lenten season in that although I am no longer Catholic, I still eat fish on Fridays and abstain from meat. So it's awesome to find all the salmon, pollock, cod and fish n chips that I can find. Tina melts. Shrimp. Cheeeeeese!!!!!
Love the cheese.

Speaking of dairy, I was at my local Hy Vee store last night and about had a coronary in the dairy aisle when I saw the price of milk.

Criminetley's!! All I needed was a half gallon and for crying out loud, it was practically $2. In fact, it may have been $2. Heck, I just grabbed the Hy Vee brand and left - couldn't be staring at those prices all night. But the price of a gallon was practically $4.00.

And you know J&A better be feeding milk to their little henhouse. Not only that, but Jake is only going to be buying milk from Whole Foods - organic, preservative-free, no additives, cage-free milk. lol - yeah, I know , there's no cage free milk. But if there was!!!

Man,talk about a chunk of change out of your grocery bill for dairy.

Well, back to the salt mines today so no more yak from me. We're celebrating our evening whse super's b-day and having ice cream sundaes. Everyone's going overboard and we'll have more toppings than ice cream. Then these jars of lefover sprinkles and syrups will sit on that kitchen counter until next fall, I can just see it now. Not to mention any leftover ice cream is going to sit in that freezer until it turns into crusty suede and someone takes the initiative to pitch it. Which will be me.

prairiegirl said...

And on another sad note regarding grocery prices.

It's a sad day indeed when one must buy Hy Vee brand cheese crackers instead of Cheez-Its.

I REFUSE to pay almost $3 for the downsized box of Cheez-Its. Nope, not doing it! It is a Cheez It revolt!!!

destiny said...

No Cheez Its? That is serious PG.

As for milk, I buy the organic kind, and yeah, if I go to CVS it is double the price of regular milk (which is still over $2 in NYC), but if you go someplace like Whole Foods it can run around $5.

I always try to buy organic milk and organic eggs from cage free chickens, in part to avoid all the hormones and antibiotics that gets used in factory farming. But I draw the line at paying the prices they charge for organic produce--now those prices really give me sticker shock.

Dear Ted:
Just wondering if anyone has guessed Toothy Tile's identity? Also, I remember you a saying a while back that some of the closeted members of Hollywood tend to jump from beard to beard. Might this include one John Mayer? If so, who cares if he is gay!? How would that tarnish his music career?
—M

Dear Your Body Is a Wonderland:
All I'm saying is that nothing could tarnish John's music career more than his own big mouth. Guy loves being in the spotlight and dishing about his sexual escapades to anyone who will listen.

And these two questions back to back:

Dear Ted:
If a star, like, say Toothy Tile, decided at some point to come out, what would happen to all the beardy counterparts they've had over the years? Would they be ridiculed or just play dumb?
—Lisa

Dear Good Question:
It's simple. They'd say they never knew.

Dear Ted:
Do you honestly believe Taylor Swift only dates for exposure? I mean, she seemed really into Joe Jonas. Was that all PR? And then she writes all those songs? I don't know what to think, I just feel no one could be that insensitive and still write those beautiful words. And she's a super cute and sweet doll, let's face it.
—Nikki

Dear Swift to Date:
Of course, the gal doesn't plot out every guy she dates simply for PR. All we meant is that Taylor lives her life in the public, and fans love that she will dish about heartbreak in high-profile relationships. A townie from Nashville doesn't make a breakup song like "Dear John." Get it?

The price of gas is what is killing me. Headed back to Florida on Saturday and I am sure it would be cheaper to fly. Maggie the pooch wants to go though so driving down it is. Thank God I won't be driving alone though this time my good friend Joe is coming along.

I think Source Code will do fairly well at the box office. It is the type of movie most people enjoy and right now there is not much competition out there. Good chance to see if action Jake:-) can put people in the seats.

prairiegirl said...

Yeah, gas is a killer. It's $3.39 here. I'm glad you're taking Maggie Moo with you, Tom - you know she loves her daddy and doesn't want to miss out on those Florida breezes.

Okay, you know there are just some things that don't work in private label. And for all the bragging on this box of Hy Vee brand Cheese Crackers with 100% real cheese, I don't know what Cheez-Its does with its crackers but I have yet to find anyone who comes close to the one, the original Cheez It.

These were just a sorry excuse for a cheese cracker.

Kind of like Fritos. Only Frito Lay does corn chips like Fritos.

I challenge anyone to find an equivalent.

It's raining here - a real gray day.
