Matched up

Even in sci-fi ,movie promotion there is no escape.

Musicrooms.net talked to Jake about love and had this what he had to say

"What I believe about love is that, whether it's with your family, whether it's with somebody you fall in love with and have a relationship with, it's all about being seen.

“It's all about someone saying, 'I see you. I see who you are. I love who you are. I appreciate who you are.’

Does anyone else think that how Austin was and still is with Jake? And that was one of the reason Jake fell so hard?

And that everyone has time for love. “I think everybody has time to fall in love when they're doing anything.”

Then Jon Stewart was concern and trying his best last night to play matchmaker, with hilarious results.

Jake and the Yenta Jon Stewart on The Daily Show

But it looks like Jake's bed is full. In in The Belfast Telegraph Jake talked about his special relationship with his fake Jake torso, especially made for Source Code.

"It's now my pillow - I wake up every morning and go 'Aaah, what a wonderful face to wake up to!"

Wonder who else's he's used for a pillow.

He did admit it is odd to see yourself recreated down to the last detail. "It was pretty creepy to behold. They had my eyes moving and my lips, it was quite freaky,"

"The process of doing those things, making the cast and everything, is often even weirder than when you see the result of it because it's so suffocating and strange. But I've never seen something that looked so much like me."

"I even took a picture of it with me with my thumb up and then got really paranoid because I didn't want anyone to steal my phone and find my picture and be like, 'That's the end of the Source Code!' The brilliance of the artistry of how they did it is what blew me away more than anything."

But today it's all work was a full morning with GMA, Regis & Kelly, and talking to Ryan Seacrest and more interviews then tonight it's New Eye's silent auction.

Ack!!!! Spoilers in you blog post Special!!! My eyes!! My eyes!!!

Interesting how Soap found out so quickly that Jared Eng tweeted a sighting of her in W. Hollywood. Does she follow Just Jared on twitter? Or did one of her people alert her? Or another fan on twitter?

She most likely has the @ notification turned on. Which means that anytime someone mentions @sophiabush she gets a notification. Really not difficult to understand.

Sorry.

Spoilers for matchmaking?

Or who's in Jake's bed?

Source Code bats around interesting philosophical ideas about the elasticity of time, and the director finds moments of humor in unlikely corners of that train of fools. The movie is also, as time goes by, about less than it thinks it is. So my question for that Source Code–Inception summit I was dreaming about would be: Is emotional disposability built into the structure of a movie like this? You know, like a source code? B+

Good review for Source Code in the LA Times and just went over to Rotten Tomatoes out of curiosity. It's got 92% good reviews from the top critics and 91% from everyone. Looks like there will be a lot to celebrate in April.

Here's part of the review from the LA Times

It's the obvious thing to say, but it can't be avoided: "Source Code" is the science-fiction thriller version of "Groundhog Day," and that turns out to be not a bad thing at all.

Crisply directed by Duncan Jones from a cleverly constructed Ben Ripley script, "Source Code" doesn't have protagonist Jake Gyllenhaal repeat the same day ad infinitum the way Bill Murray did; no, he has to relive a particular eight minutes over and over again. Not because he wants to but because, wouldn't you know it, large numbers of innocent lives are at stake.

With a twisty, mind-bending plot that frequently changes direction and occasionally overreaches, "Source Code" wouldn't work at all without a cast with the determination and ability to really sell its story. With Gyllenhaal, Michelle Monaghan, Vera Farmiga and Jeffrey Wright in the key roles, that's just what it has.

Committed to the project even before a director was selected, Gyllenhaal brings a sense of passionate belief and commitment to Capt. Stevens that "Source Code" could not succeed without. When you add in Monaghan's trademark vivacious presence, her ability to be fully alive in each and every one of those nominally repetitive moments, science-fiction romance is definitely in the air.

This is a great piece from the NY Times behind the scenes of Source Code.

If my inability to understand helps to make you feel superior in any way, my pleasure to accommodate.

Alot of places are running the Jake and love story, but AskMen.com had it titled in a way that made me think it could be another small step for a bigger leap later.

Jake Gyllenhaal can have love and success

I don't see it Special; the article talks about his being confident that he will eventually find his dream woman.

Special K said...

It's the title that interest me.

Look at the quotes, Jake never said once that it mean a woman. The press assumes it means a woman, but he is saying that love and success is possible.

Eonline
Review in a Hurry: It's Groundhog Day at Ground Zero, as Jake Gyllenhaal has to keep reliving the last eight minutes of a bomb victim's life, over and over, until he's able to identify the terrorist responsible. As he did in his acclaimed debut film Moon, director Duncan Jones explores science-fiction ideas of identity and surrogate human bodies, but in adding a more suspense-driven, ticking-clock premise, he has made a thriller with much broader appeal.

"When I was first working, I would just take whatever I was cast for. But now, it's like I have to have 'that feeling'. I've done movies where I didn't have the right feeling and I knew the audience didn't either.

Wonder which movies he's talking about. When he was "first working". I thought he started out with indie movies? Isn't that where he got his fanbase from?

And now he does mainstream movies. So Love and Other Drugs was a flick that he "had a feeling for"?

Really. Oh there was a feeling all right. A shot right in the arm of Mainstream Horndog.

JAKE Gyllenhaal is getting choosy about his movie roles.

The actor — who has starred in many well known movies, such as Donnie Darko and Jarhead and can currently be seen in new flick Source Code — says he that when he started out in Hollywood he would accept any role he could get his hands on, but as he’s grown older he’s realized that isn’t the way to go.

“Now, it’s like I have to have ‘that feeling’. I’ve done movies where I didn’t have that feeling and I knew the audience didn’t either,” he said.

“So every time I have that feeling, I know that I’m taking the audience along with me and they’re gonna say, ‘What’s this about?’ because I’ve made enough consistent choices that they go, ‘It may be interesting what he’s doing, let’s check it out’.”

I don't read anything into that article. It's a generic title and it is the author who plugs in "dream woman", not Jake. But he spins and he spins and he spins.

I respect the audience so much

That is such bullcrap, Jake. Does he really think someone like myself is buying this lumpy oatmeal?

prairiegirl said...

You respect your audience so much that you're lying to them. You're hiding this entirely different life and you're hiding the relationship you have with Austin.

That's why Austin is thousands of miles away, tucked away in Indonesia like some dirty little secret.

Respect my foot. Tay Swift and respect just do not go hand in hand as far as I'm concerned.

Right now, this is why I don't think I'm going to see Source Code. Nope, it can wait for me.

Don't get me wrong. I wish him all the best with this movie - I want it to do well for him.

But as long as Austin is not allowed within continental distance of this movie and these 2 guys allow Jake's people to continue telling them what to do and how to live their lives, I can't enjoy the movie, sorry.

So I will be at the ol' fish fry again tomorrow! I can taste it now...

I don't read anything into the article either PG, but that's also why I can't read anything into the headline.

I don't think Austin was made to leave the country or tucked away. From what we know about Austin he does what he wants to do, and not Jake's people tell him what he's going to to.

The timing is interesting indeed. With Jake flying East to Europe, you do wonder if Austin will fly west from Asia and meet up with him.

What will be interesting is if Austin is going to say anything about why he went or just say it was a trip.

Weather here: snow.

What does his personal life have to do with his profession? I don't think that quote he gave refers to the audience in his private life, do you?

I do think that Austin was in LA last Wednesday when Jake on Kimmel.

Jake's had a busy night, not only did he attend and help kick off the silent auction for New Eyes, he then attended a screening of Source Code at the Cinema Society with Michelle and Duncan.

For most jobs, you can keep your personal life and career separate. But when you want millions of people to shell out $8-$10 to see you on a big screen, in a movie theater, then what they think about you and your personal life matters. They need to like you and that means they need to know you and to want to see more of you. Otherwise they are happy to see your movie when it happens to be on TV and nothing better is on.

If Austin went for business or partly business/activism/personal maybe he went while Jake was finishing up his obligations so that they both can finish everything at the same time.

That would give them time to for everyone to be together uninterrupted for the next three months until Jake starts shooting again.

Dear Ted:
I think that Kate Bosworth needs to dump Alexander SkarsgÄrd and hook up with Jake Gyllenhaal! They would be an awesome couple! What do you think?
—serbmama

Dear Semi-Winning:
We've been telling you all that Skarsworth are headed to Splitsville. We just get this weird vibe from their awkward body language. But as much as we adore Jake, Skars is one hot piece of ass, literally, and not even Gyllenhaal can compete. Then again, Jake's got those puppy dog eyes we melt for. Let's call it a tie, on our part. Good thing Kate doesn't actually have to pick between the two. That would be brutal.

Another PR campaign and another time Jake has not done The Today Show. What is going on with that?

Michelle is on GMA and talking about Source Code, and she did mention how sweet Jake is.

The NYT gave SC a good review; Manohla Dargis ends the review with this:

The actors are nicely matched, and what a relief to like a new movie with Mr. Gyllenhaal after a run of groaners. In a sympathetic turn, he hits the dark and light notes right, bringing subtle differences to his performance, whether Stevens is questioning reality or riding that train of life and death and angling for what everyone wants: the chance to get it right.

The last thing she liked him in was Zodiac, which she put at the top of her list of best films that year.

I wonder if the production company has some kind of relationship with GMA/ABC? Certainly when Jake was doing POP they stuck with ABC because it's part of the Disney family.
