With Hurricane Irene being upgraded to a category 3 and heading toward the Mid-Atlantic, Austin says he's getting prepared.
Now the officials suggest these are some of the things you need to have for an emergency such as a hurricane.
Basic Emergency Supply Kit:
Water, one gallon of water per person per day for at least three days, for drinking and sanitation
Food, at least a three-day supply of non-perishable food
Battery-powered or hand crank radio and a NOAA Weather Radio with tone alert and extra batteries for both
Flashlight crank or battery operated and extra batteries
First aid kit
Whistle to signal for help
Dust mask, to help filter contaminated air and plastic sheeting and duct tape to shelter-in-place
Moist towelettes, garbage bags and plastic ties for personal sanitation
Wrench or pliers to turn off utilities
Non perishable food
Can opener for food (if kit contains canned food)
Local maps
Cell phone with chargers, inverter or solar charger
Additional Items to Consider Adding to an Emergency Supply Kit:
Prescription medications and glasses
Infant formula and diapers
Pet food and extra water for your pet
Cash or traveler's checks and change
Important family documents in a waterproof, portable container.
First aid book
Sleeping bag or warm blanket for each person.
Complete change of clothing including a long sleeved shirt, long pants and sturdy shoes.
Fire Extinguisher
Matches in a waterproof container
Mess kits, paper cups, plates and plastic utensils, paper towels
Paper and pencil
Books, games, puzzles or other activities for children

Huh. So after a break up rumor springs up out of nowhere regarding Will Smith & Jada Pinkett Smith, they issue a denial. And then today, there's a photo op on Just Jared of the two happily shopping out & about, stopping to pose for pictures for fans.
Uh huh. They just happened to be out & about today, smiling to beat the band and holding hands like newlyweds.

Congrats to Austin on getting to direct another episode!
The must be finishing up 9.05 now. That give Austin about a week or so to work on how he wants to set up what he wants to do with the script and get the notes to production.

With that laundry list of essentials, I think Austin definitely needs to head home for a visit with his hubby.
Jake looked pretty serious in most of those clips. Playing a cop may be carrying over to his real life attitude a bit.
The new movie Drive is getting very good early reviews. Must say Gosling looks extremely sexy in it. Got me to sit up and notice.
I don't know but I think right now, anyone in Wilmington should only be thinking about vacating and forget about that show for a minute.
This hurricane is very serious and they're saying could be a category 4 by the time it hits North Carolina and Wilmington is right there at first impact.
Dr. Nab was explaining on Wake Up With Al this morning why they think Irene is going to hit the east coast of the U.S. and why it probably will sustain as it moves up coast before dying off. I would heed what these weather people are all saying and sorry, but I would be out of there. I hope the production of OTH looks out for the safety of its employees and puts up the Closed Sign.
I'll have to watch Jake maybe tonight. I've just been dogtired lately. Work is just a real unforgettable grind lately.

It's not just North Carolina; they are talking NYC, Cape Code, Massachusetts, etc.
And they are saying it could be historic.
So it's not something to be sitting around wasting time with because they're worried about people needing to vacate the Long Island area, etc. That the highways are not designed to handle this amount of people.
I know we'll be ecstatic if Irene veers off but you don't know that.
Oops - I said Cape Code instead of Cape Cod. LOL. Darnit.
Let me addendum to that last comment about being very concerned about Austin over there by saying that I certainly hope he isn't going to get a wild hair and think of trying to sneak a surf in.

I am at my local JoCo library. I had to get out of that office for awhile and seek solitary asylum. My big buddy is a little whiney today.
The prep is beginning here in MA for our Hello Irene. We live to watch the weather here. As they say about New England, don't like the weather, wait a minute it will change. Right now it is breezy.
Candles, plastic, tape for window just in case, peanut butter and jelly for sandwiches. All set. I need to make sure I have my flashlights ready to go and some water just in case. I do have a cool crank/solar radio.
I remember both Bob and Gloria when they hit here. Bob I was working in town and at the same place as my brother and we both knew it was now or never we had to get home or we would be stuck.
Gloria, we went to watch the surf hours before it hit. You don't usually see whitecaps and real waves in the harbor or a bay.
The winds were incredible, which you can get during a Nor'Easter in the winter, and brought trees down everywhere during both storms. We lost power for a few days with Gloria, with Bob I think for at least a few hours for us.
It is pretty wild to see a 150 yr tree pulled right out of the ground,laying on its side, and the base and roots taller than you.
We are hardy here and we will be ready.

Hurricane Irene's threat to the U.S. has been upgraded to extreme. Flooding storm surge, wind damage, and inland flooding from torrential rain, will impact parts of the Mid-Atlantic,and Northeast.
Evidently, the New Hanover County Board of Commissioners has declared a State of Emergency effective at 6:00 a.m. Friday, August 26.
